Update on refund: So I went in to the store the following day and spoke to the manager regarding the visits on the previous day. I told him that I was there for the wheel sensor and for the refund of everything that was charged to my Discount Tire Synchrony card. Manager went to the bay area where my tire was swapped and then came back to tell me he couldn't find the sensor. He gave me a new sensor at no cost and told me to go back into the store and that they would program it to my car. He also gave me a full refund on all of the charges 2 tire unmounts and 1 tire mount and wheel alignment. read more

I want to give a shout out to one of the employees here. A different store had quoted me $280 for tire pressure monitors. When I came to discount tire, He quoted me $210. When he went out and checked my monitors, he said there was nothing wrong with them. They only needed to be reset. His honesty impressed me and he saved me $210. We live in East Texas now and our nearest discount tire is 30 mins from us. I was coming to abilene to visit and decided since my tire had a slow leak that I would just go to my trusted one in abilene. I got online and made an appointment for Saturday at 10 am. We got there at 9:45 and got right in. They said a an hour wait but it was more like 45 mins and they had us out the door. They even showed me the piece of metal that was in it. Went today to have some tires I purchased installed on the front of my car. Tires were directional, and I had a spare on passenger front. Explained to the dude specifically what I needed, and added that my new tires were directional. Once I got my car back, both my new tires were on the rear, and one of them put on backwards. It was extremely disappointing that the actual wait time was far longer than what my husband was told. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. We went in for a flat tire, were persuaded to spend over $1,000 on four new tires, and during installation our wheels were left misaligned, causing further issues. I was traveling from Fort Worth to Abilene and hit some debris on the road and one of my tires started leaking air. I made it to Abilene and went to Discount Tires on S 1st without an appointment. Derek immediately took care of me and got me back on the road with a repaired tire in 30 minutes. He was thorough, patient and kind. While I am waiting, I notice the other counter worker (did not get his name) who was exceptional. Discount tire at the south 1st location has been notorious for misleading me to get me in the door. Today, I called to have a tire replaced. When I spoke to the rep on the phone, he confirmed I had road hazard warranty and a replacement tire was available. I asked if I came up right now, if I would be able to have it swapped out real quick and was told it wouldn't be a problem since I'm leaving work to take care of it. I get there 15 minutes later, wait another 15 minutes after checking in just to be told it would be over 2 hours before my one tire could be replaced. id like to add that it was a loose tire, not even taking space in a bay. The headache is not worth all of this. There's plenty of other local tire shops around. I wish I could say it did any good to make an appointment, but I can't because they are worse than a Dr.'s office. read more

I've been a Discount Tire fan for a while. Right after this store opened last year I went in and made a deal on tires for my pickup. I had bought two other sets of tires at Discount, so I thought I knew what I wanted. I visited with the manager and got a great price on an even better set of tires. I just went back in today and ordered tires for my wife's car. Visited with Phillip who was very accommodating and got the proper tires ordered. At 11:30, another customer was complaining about already having waited an hour, she was told she was next. We chimed in about waiting for 2 hours when Jeremiah told us we had only checked in at 10 and about appointments, etc., but we were next to be pulled in. This place is terrible. Definitely would NOT recommend sending your wives, gf's or daughters there. They think they can take advantage of people. My friend and I in the same week went here with a flat tire from a nail and both times said they could not fix it so they had to put a new tire on. I was first so was able to tell my friend that it was a scam and she told them no. When they told me they had to put a new tire on my car, they also told me they couldn't match the other tires on my car so I'd have to settle for what they had in stock if I needed it then. I took my car the next week to where I bought my tires and they fixed it for free with no problem. Discount tire promised that if I was not satisfied with my tire I could give it back. That was a LIE. when I called back to tell them that I did not need this new tire I had only drove on it for 3 days they told me they could not take it back. read more
