They have helped us with design choices, calculating how much tile and product we need, and understanding the installation process. They have kept us informed about product and delivery times and have gone out of their way to help us. We've been back so many times with questions about our project. I wish I had received the "great service" from the "wonderful, helpful" people at MVT. Unfortunately, I was strung along for months and then dumped by Bert. Bert came to my house in Salem to evaluate a tile job for a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, and took full measurements. I had questions about the rigidity of the wood floors with hardybacker, but Bert said they were fine. In the kitchen there was an area with MDF over the plywood subfloor. as expected, Bert said the MDF would have to be taken off and covered with hardybacker. Bert suggested that since he lived in Salem, he could do the tiling all at once or in 3 phases. He said he was booked up for about 2 months, so it would be a while before he could start. Since I had researched tilers in the area, I wanted Bert to do the job, so I said fine. Then the B.S. started. Bert's assistant called me and said that they had lost a tiler, so it would be about another 2 months wait. She said that would be about mid January 2021 when the job would start, and asked if I wanted to wait. I told her that I wanted to wait for Bert, and she said she would let me know. On 1/21/21, I called MVT to find out when Bert would be starting the job. Bert's assistant told me that I was not even on the list because I didn't make a down-payment . I told her that neither she nor Bert ever mentioned anything about a down-payment. Bert's assistant said, "oh, sorry." Anyway, you wouldn't make a down-payment before picking tile and the date being months before the start of work. Then she asked if I wanted the names of 2 other tilers. I said, "No, I want Bert to do the job he said he would do." She said she would ask Bert to call me. Bad to worse: Bert called this morning, and left me a voicemail acknowledging that he had been to my house and taking full measurements. Then he said, "I believe 'we' passed on it." I don't know who "we" is, but it certainly did not include me. The worst part of this is the line of CRAP about passing on the job. He said he wanted to concentrate on Corvallis, blah, blah, blah. Nobody at MVT "passed" on this job. The proof is: telling me to remove the MDF from the kitchen, saying the floors were rigid enough for tile, saying that the job could be done in phases, and asking me if I wanted to wait for MVT after they lost a tiler. I had hoped that Bert would be a stand-up professional and and do the work he said he would. But professionals don't come up with garbage like "I believe we passed on it" when they did not. I waited several months just to be pushed off a cliff by MVT. Now I get to wait for months starting over with a different tile company. If Bert or anyone else at MVT posts a response to this rating repeating that "I believe 'we' passed on it" garbage, or any other excuse/rationalization, it's pure hose poop. Does anyone know of a truly professional professional tile company in Salem that actually completes the job they said they would do? read more

Excellent craftsmanship and artistry! Bert installed a tile mural with several "frames", wall, and fill-in with 1" separate tiles nicely interspersed. He advised and consulted with us on corner cut choices, seam placement and design symmetry. Results were beautiful and All we had hoped for! Staff at store was pleasant and helpful as well. The facts, nothing but the facts: I ordered exterior tile for a simple 100 square foot job: a porch of 5' X 20'. Easy math. I requested sufficient tile for full coverage plus a little extra. I received 220 square feet of tile (120% extra!), and I was charged a 35% restock fee to return the unused portion. When I protested to the owner, he told me it was my & my tile installer's mistake, and refused to take any responsibility for it. read more

Outstanding!! The ladies at Mid-Valley Tile are so incredibly helpful. They are also interior designers so they can do more than just help you find nice tile, they can help you design too. I have worked with them as a regular client and as an interior designer. They go out of their way to bring in samples and give you plenty of time to take them home and view them - no charge. The selection is superb and the prices are also good! When I am working with clients, I always let the ladies know we are coming so one can be available to help us out. I have also sent clients there without me and they have been treated very well and the ladies communicate with me what my clients are looking at. Any time I have had tile issues (came in broken or damaged - not Mid-Valley's fault), they were sorted right away. (I always order my tile early in case of issues, as tile setters are hard to get scheduled in the Willamette Valley!) Great place to find tile and book the install too. If we could give a less than 1 we would. After 3 visits including being ignored and told "sure, I guess if you want to look around" on the 1st trip, which should have been the clue we would never buy or recommend this company. Recommend hiring new desk help, training to understand how revenue is generated and that customers do actually like to be spoken to politely vs getting shoulder shrugs or worse. read more
