These guys were great! we hired them to replace our roof and well house and they did a great job!…read moreeven after discovering additional work needed to be done they got the job done, everything fixed or replaced, and in before the rain really came back!

My experience with Combat Construction started out promising but ended up quite frustrating…read more Jesse, the owner, seemed very friendly and gave me a really reasonable bid for a new fence and short retaining wall. When they put the fence in, it looked great with the exception of one 8' section that was not even with the rest (it sat 3-4" higher than the adjacent sections with a 3-4" gap below). I asked Jesse why this had been done and ended up asking for it to be fixed, which really seemed to annoy him. There were a couple of other inconsistencies with what Jesse said he was going to do and what he actually ended up doing. For example, he had said that there would be a 9.5" grass board along the bottom of the fence, but he used a 6" one instead. He also told me that they would be applying a clear coat sealant on the fence and instead he put on a "cedar" color stain. When I asked him about the color, he also seemed to get perturbed. The fence ended up looking great, so I didn't mind that he used a stain, I just didn't understand why he specifically told me he was going to use a clear coat and then used a colored stain. I was also lucky that my neighbors, who were sharing the cost, didn't mind the changes. They then tried to install my retaining wall directly on the dirt/mud in my yard with a corrugated pipe sitting on the dirt behind it. When I told Jesse that I thought that the wall needed to be installed on a compacted rock base to be even and avoid settling and that the French drain would need to sit in rock or have a water barrier between it and the wall to function correctly, he became very upset and told me that "this job was becoming a real hassle." He argued that he had bid for a decorative retaining wall only (not what I had asked for) and that he was already losing money on my project. I found this to be really odd since he was the one that had written the bid. There was no way I was going to pay them to install the wall and French drain incorrectly, so after a heated argument, I ended up telling Jesse I would pay for the materials that they had already had delivered to my home and put the retaining wall and drain in myself. There were a couple of other sloppy workmanship issues I noticed once they had finished. They used a sprayer to apply the stain to the fence and ended up spraying onto my house siding. They didn't replace the corner posts at the back of my property, so there are still old, rotten posts holding up the new fence at the corners. They also left quite a mess when hauling away the old fence, including dropping nails in my driveway and my neighbor's. A few of the boards they installed have since warped or split, causing two so far to detach after only a little over a month. Combat Construction offers a warranty on the fence, but I have opted to fix the problems myself rather than deal with Jesse again. It was really disappointing that they were trying to cut corners on my project and that Jesse apparently felt it was unreasonable for me to question him. The crew doing the work for Jesse were really friendly and professional and the fence ended up looking fantastic for the most part. Based on the deviations between what was communicated to me and what was actually done, as well as Jesse's attitude when asked to do the work correctly, I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone else.

Bob Grant Construction - Refrigerator that despite the adjustable being extended as much as possible still need shims. The back rollers also need to be elevated.

In my 22 years in real estate sales, property management, development, and investment, I have…read moreworked with a lot of contractors - from one-man operations to large organizations. Bob Grant Construction is hands down the best of all worlds - a great blend of customer service and integrity while being able to build anything you can dream up. Love their honesty, pricing, and transparency. They have been wonderful on the renovation of a non-profit shelter that I am involved in and a potential development project in the works. HIGHLY recommend.

Sloppy work that they will not take responsibility for. I have been through remodels in the past…read moreso I know what to expect. I was shocked by the low quality work that was done. We have a new addition with sloping floors. We also have new hardwood floors that are warped in two different rooms. It looks like a moisture problem. We were told it was normal and would go away. (5 months and it still looks the same. I have had hardwood floors installed in the past and nothing like this. The refrigerator has to be on wood blocks on one side due to the floor being so uneven. There were several other issues with the remodel that I didn't mention I realize with a remodel things happen and there is a need for flexibility, however I feel there is no excuse for the workmanship. I don't usually leave negative reviews but I feel like when you spend 300k on a remodel you should get quality workmanship not a bunch of excuses. The owner was invited to come see what our concerns were after the job was done but did not respond.
