The previous time many years ago when he was first starting, and even then his good character and business sense stood out to me. It's probably why I reached out to him again. Growing up as a "cop's daughter" sometimes my second-hand jadedness towards seemingly good character arouses my doubts. But if Jared is not genuine then I don't know who is. My grandfather was a general contractor, and I myself worked for a medium-sized commercial contractor for a short while so I am somewhat familiar with the challenges in organizing the work, including managing subcontractors. Jared's communication and management style is such a breath of fresh air. You just want to get behind his local business and see it continue to grow. Communicating to some of the general contractors in and outside the Corvallis-Albany-Salem area as the pandemic winds down, I now think the safer bet is to go big with Thayer Construction when the time comes. Just get all the jobs and remodeling done at once with him or not at all.

Jerry came out, took a look at the problem, gave me some ideas after I explained that the ramp needed to have a long, gentle slope as eventually my pooch would be in wheels (hind legs). He talked with me at length about options, helping me understand the dilemma and how to work within the parameters of the space. He had some excellent ideas on how to proceed and came up with a solution that was great for Reggie, my dog. Reggie now has a beautiful, functional ramp and the ramp looks well with the house. Jerry even suggested putting in a new brighter, light fixture that can be rotated to highlight the ramp. I stroke of genius! The new light fixture makes it much easier for the pooches to see the end/beginning of the ramp and for me to see them at night. His work is top notch, and uses the best products available within your budget. He is very meticulous and considers all the angles of the situation, such as, no sharp edges or corners for the ramp. He is very personable, easy to talk with even when I am not sure about what to do and able to work with people like me that does not have the necessary expertise. They brought it up to the 2024 era. With gutting out the second bedroom, and turning it into a brand new wheelchair accessible addition. Since I use a wheelchair. Everyone from our lead project manager Lukas. To our design team. They were great in listening to our ideas, and following through with them. Even when I had the idea to install a lower clothes bar for my clothes in our closet. As I am getting to the point where I will be needing a wheelchair full time. Lukas made us a second clothes bar, and shelf in the closet. To do just that. He also made us a better access crawl space door. For under our house. Because the one we had. Was cheaply made. And when our refrigerator went out during the remodel. No fault to Henderer. The refrigerator had been there since our house was first remodeled in 2006. Lukas went, and got their shop fridge. So that all of our perishables could stay cold. While we had to wait for the refrigerator to get fixed. Then after the remodel was over. Lukas came back a couple months later with the electrician. Because our vanity light in the bathroom had a bad wire in it. He, and the electrician were able to fix it.

Tal designed and crafted a beautiful cedar deck for us, all entirely on his own, with great skill and artistry. His rates are extremely reasonable and he is an easygoing, nice guy, too. We learned during the construction that he is a former organic farmer and one day he shared some of his pickling cucumbers with us, so in a week or so our fridge pickles will be ready to eat. We've recommended Tal to everyone we know and his deck has garnered praise from several people already. The craftsmanship is amazing. We are very pleased with Tal's work ethic and wonderful abilities to build and create. When we get a chance, we'll post a photo of the deck.
