We worked with the staff at G. Christianson to add a room to our house so my wife's mom could share our house with is. From our first meeting until the project was completed, we continually knew we made the best choice in our builder. First and foremost there would never have been possibility with out the patient and thorough design work of Sarah. Sarah politely and professionally stuck with us, encouraging us during numerous changes until the design was perfect. That was great, but in the end, the real perfection came as the finished product. There were several crew members and sub contractors that stood out, but the four that cannot go without mention are - 1.Alejandro - Patient, competent, skilled and responsible, we knew we were off to a great start. We would have him as our go-to for any project, knowing we would have the best help money could buy. 2. Maria and 3. Gavin They seemed to work as one mind. Detailed and precise, paying equal attention to mundane chores yes, but excelling in the fine, exacting work that made our addition something we are all so very proud of. As was everyone involved, these three were an absolute joy to have at our house. 4. Jon - The glue that held it all together! From our first meeting Jon demonstrated his deep expertise in the job and product we had in mind. Never left us waiting for an answer, bent over backwards to calm my exaggerated fears and concerns. He's without a doubt the best man for the job. Will I sign off without mentioning Ben? No. While he may have been juggling 20 jobs in addition to ours, when we needed a decision he was all-in, insuring we not only received what was contracted but always beyond. I was very pleased with the work on my house in this second remodel, especially given the unexpected death of my husband, multiple changes his death precipitated, and my emotionally and physically exhausted state. I did want to commend multiple Christiansen personnel who were particularly helpful, creative at problem solving, expert craftsmen, and patient with an often not entirely "together" client. Jon (yourself): Top of the list. You were exactly the responsible, creative, and "responsive" manager I expected, especially given the challenging supply issues, sub availability issues, change orders, and my Gavin issues. Patient and kind to a troubled "little old lady"--much appreciated. Jerry: extremely responsive, expert craftsman, concerned about finding everything that needed fixing and seeing that it did get fixed. In addition to his expert carpentry, demolition, and construction on the big items (deck, gazebo, siding, bath carpentry), he did lots of fix up and clean up which was greatly appreciated by me who couldn't manage either mentally or physically , e.g. filling in water-filled pathway and foundation holes, getting every rodent-chewed wire fixed, patching holes in house and shop. Patient and kind--helped a lot. Dennis: responsive, creative and expert craftsman dealing with "pigs ears" existing cabinetry. They worked with our original (and very rough!) sketch and tweaked and adjusted it until we found the perfect design. Using that design, the skilled craftsmen at the GCCI cabinet shop created a stunning black walnut entertainment center. To top off our experience with GCCI, an amazing installation crew spent four days in our home as they expertly finished our unit. All three men who made up the installation crew treated our home as if it were their own. Their clean up at the end of every day assured we would not be tripping over blocks of wood or spreading saw dust all over the house.. We worked with Christianson Construction to repair damage to an out building. The repair was handled well. This was a small job that took awhile to get to all of the parts but each was taken care of in a timely manner. The last was a paint job of all added wood. The painting was done as carefully as if it was interior trim. I appreciate workmen who pay attention to detail and do it right even when it is a small job on a shed. As a bonus the crew did a good job of cleaning up after themselves and not leaving trash or anything that they brought to the job. Excess paint was labeled and left. Walt Thies read more
