Besides their great service their pricing is also outstanding. Saved a lot of money by using them over the years. The other local and well-respected shop did not correctly locate a minute cooling leak, which was only resolved when RHA re-opened and I brought it in to them.

I've been to both chains and mom-and-pop shops in the area, and have often left feeling the job wasn't done well (which later bears out), takes too long, and/or I've been overcharged for the service. This is not the case at Red Hook Auto--Joe's fantastic at his job, honest, and incredibly efficient. He also gives great referrals (body shops and such) if needed. I'm very grateful we found Joe and I highly recommend!

In fact I had passed it many times over the years. On the way to Stone Ridge. I called up and the lady who answered the phone was very friendly. She asked for all my information. She did ask for my license plate number. Then she was able to look up the year and make and model of the car. I was impressed by that. They seem to be very thorough right away. I told her I needed them to look at the front tires because there was a A vibration from the front tires and some noise coming from the front tire also. I had brought it to a shop down in Rockland County to put on new tires after I got a blowout. I came in and they pull the car into the shop area. One of the employees Kevin introduced himself. He offered me some coffee and showed me in the area where they had a couple of comfortable seats donuts potato chips and some other snacks Soon after they pulled in the car they called me back to take a look at it. Nick the head mechanic had the car up on the lift. He told me that the other shop didn't balance the wheels at all or did them in properly in the front. He also told me that the shop lied when they said that the sensor from the tire had fallen off the front tire and they glued it back on. In fact they broke the sensor when they were doing something with one of the front tires. Instead of cleaning out the tire they left all the junk inside the tire So Nick cleaned it out and balanced the tires .Then another employee took the car for a test drive to make sure everything was OK. I was definitely pleased with thoroughness of the work. The car was coming up on needing to get transmission fluid changed and also the other fluids. Brake fluid Power steering fluid etc. New fuel filter. I made an appointment and brought the car back. Since I live only about 10 minutes away they said they were able to drive me home. Then when the car was done called me and picked me up again. Nick the head mechanic and owner is very knowledgeable and really gave me some good tips on what I should get done and not get done on the car. For example they said that the rotors were warping a little bit, but the brake pads were still good, said to not doing anything yet. I'm sure other shops would've told me, to do the brake pads and rotors. I definitely had a fantastic experience bringing my car here. Nick Kevin and another technician I talked to really know their stuff. Very knowledgeable professional thorough. The prices are very fair as well. Actually lower than I expected them to be. I definitely highly recommend this shop for all your car needs

I go in to get my cars alignment done and end up being stranded in their parking lot on an extremely hot day with my two young kids (2 and 7 month) due to their negligence. My car was fine until it was time to pay and i got told "the caliper piston was leaking and thats why the brakes felt weird" i replied they didnt feel weird before coming here (i know my car) So i go out to my car, start it, put it in drive and my foot literally goes to the floor as my car is rolling forward so i quickly put it back in park....my mechanically inclined brother goes to investigate and low and behold my brake hose was broken.....brake fluid all over the ground! THOSE BRAKE LINES WERE DONE 8 MONTHS AGO!!!! PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW!!!! What do i get told by people at vancleecks? That it was my fault, that i brought my car to them like that, they even went as far as telling me where i parked had brake fluid on the ground which it wasnt brake fluid....it was oil cause my car has an oil leak! So, close to $170 for them to do my cars alignment as close as possible with a broken brake hose that they broke but wont take the blame for....they just blamed me

I took it to Sharp Transmissions because of the reviews and its a transmission shop. I work on my truck as much as I possibly can but dealing with repairing a transmission is out of my wheel house. I dropped off the truck in the morning and I got a call about 2 hours later. Milt told itme he had inspected the car test drove and it was not the tranny it was the power steering pump that had a small not noticeable leak but the fluid resevoir was almost dry and that was the noise I was hearing coming from the truck. He added power sterring fluid and solved the problem but let me know it something that will need attention down the road. I thanked him I picked up my truck later that evening. Drove the truck home ran like a charm. I will certainly take it to him again when I need work done. I appreciated his honesty he could have told me I needed a new transmission instead I got a honest and fair evaluation and fix. Thanks Milt glad to see that there are still good folk out there.
