Well we have been with Mid-Fl Air for 10yrs. Al Taylor sold us our new unit. Thru those yrs Al did our service checks on our unit. No complaints had the 10 yr warrenty & the Silver maintence agreement. We had a service cleaning done recently. The fan motor was having issues & was replaced by our warrenty. Great & thank-you. But threw this process I understand Al Taylor is no longer with the company. He was our guy that we trusted. So Yoel was our service tech he looked the fan casing over & replied he see's mold. Of course not a good word to hear. He took his flashlight & shined it up into the fan casing. Replied he would also put in a new casing that holds the fan & motor is mounted on casing. Along with the new fan motor. Ok now Yoel arrives with Roland. Remember i heard the word MOLD. So Roland takes fan parts out & there is no new casing only the motor. He pulls old fan & replies oh no we are just going to spray & clean then reinstall. Of course i say what about the mold? Roland say's your fine you have a UV light. My question is, Is this a ploy to try to scare me into thinking I need a mold inspection that costs 5000.00 or to think mold in unit which might me think that the unit needs to be replaced. I am disappointed in Yoel & Roland. This is not a healthy way to do business! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Like I said Al Taylor was our service tech. It is important to be able to trust who you are working with. Then they installed a Goodman but they removed all the stickers from it trying to fool us. i had been a customer of mid-florida for quite a few years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]this past spring, they never called to set up my spring appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]by september , i called them to make an appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] today was the day. the gentleman who came out was very nice. however, he insisted there was a serious problem with mold, despite the installation of a uv system. had they come in the spring, they would have noticed the bulb needed to be replaced. since they didn't come, it didn't get done. so, the mold was sprayed and the bulb was replaced. an additional bulb was added, and then i got the bill. just short of $2,000.00!!!!!! i am livid. this is robbery! had they come in the spring, it would not have happened!!!! totally disgusted!!!! read more

Unfortunately Mid-Florida Heating & Air is an unreliable company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is literally impossible to reach a human being on the phone as they have chosen to outsource their customer service to an AI (call center) system - which does not work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were told by the AI that a technician would be coming to our home for an emergency on-call at some point during the day (no time was given).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We called at 9:00am on a weekday and never received a callback nor did any technician show up to our home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Under no circumstances would we recommend anyone even attempt to use their services. I had a maintenance agreement with this firm for two years. After the first visit in 2022, on each of the next three visits the technicians tried to upsell me on questionable or unneeded work. I bit twice. Then I realized they use an inflated "flat rate" pricing structure. The concept is good if applied fairly, but their pricing structure is bogus. We had Mid Fla for over a decade and were happy with the service. They installed a new AC in our house, cleaned and sealed ducts, installed insulation and other things. Yes, they do try to upsell a bit but usually for worthwhile things. About a year or so ago they dropped off drastically. We had been on a service plan for years and all of a sudden they stopped calling to schedule. We finally called them as the plan was pre-paid. The tech was not prepared for what we needed done even though we told them in advance, said he would get back to us, and nothing for months. They don't return calls or messages, and now don't show up for a scheduled appointment with no explanation. read more

This afternoon the temperature in my home stayed at about 80 with the a/c set for 77. I noticed the a/c would run for only a few minutes before shutting off. I did some basic checks and found that the monitor for the drain line was shutting down the unit. The drain line was definitely the problem. We have a contract with Mid-Florida Heating and Air. Called them at about 5 pm and they had a tech in the area that arrived at about 6 pm. The response was fantastic. From that point it all went downhill. Particularly when considering the charges. First, I was taken for $99 for the tech to diagnose the drain problem. I had told him what the problem was and he did not look for any other causes. Then, for cleaning and refilling the drain line the charge was $125. To do this 10 minute job, I had to supply my garden hose, turn the water on and then off. The tech sprayed water into the drain line and let it flow out several times. A small frog came out with a little reside from the line The tech was gone in less than 30 minutes and I was out $224. I want to be reasonable, but this is a crazy overcharge. This is not the first, but will be the last time for Mid-Florida Heating and Air. read more

On 11/21/2019 I purchased new HVAC unit from Mid FLA air Goodman Brand with 10yrs Parts and Labor warranty, I have had out multiple times including next as unit fail operate properly, Today they came for routine check up claimed the Duel Capacitor was defective and need replaced attempted to charge $227 to replace say I would write check and Goodman would reimburse, cost or price and actual labor to replace. Contacting Good they said Unit is Covered for 10 years parts and labor , Local Distributor provides parts (free) and cost of replacement of Defective part. Local provider could charge for service call , when purchase from Travis White of Mid Florida he indicate all Parts and Labor is Covered that why I purchased! Mid Florida heating and air is an absolute waste of your time and money they'll schedule appointments and if they wind up making money more somewhere else you get old you have to reschedule which is usually not a problem one person there does not have any clue what the others are doing they come out they give you a free estimate and then tell you they're supposed to charge you $70 for a free estimate and then when you sign up for their maintenance contract deal it's a giant scam they do absolutely nothing and then when something is wrong with your unit it's a gigantic hundred dollar charge just for them to come out because now it's a special appointment no longer included with your maintenance like it was in the original contract that company needs to be run out of business they don't belong in this county they don't belong in the state they don't belong in business. read more

I've been using this company for years and have always been only half satisfied.  It often seemed as if they were ripe to pull a fast one, especially since it seems their field staff are partially on commission (my belief, not necessarily fact).  A couple of times I had reason to believe they intentionally sabotaged one of my units but couldn't really prove it. A number of years ago my central system failed and, because of its age it did need replacement.  I wasn't happy with the price but had A replace it.  They packaged in an extended warranty.  A few months ago, after the original warranty ended and before the extended warranty expired, it failed again.  They came out and in short order declared there was a refrigerant leak and, without even finding the leak, set the repair cost at about $2000. They also checked on the extended warranty and said it didn't cover the situation. Being suspicious I called for a second opinion.  Without any information from me they also declared a leak but went further and located it.  A quick estimate was that it would be in the $1600 range to repair but then they had their Shining Moment: they also checked on the extended warranty and found it would cover 100% of the parts and labor.  They were also told that Mid-Fla had called the day before and was told the same thing. Bottom line is the entire repair ended up costing me nothing. I believe Mid-Fla planned on pocketing the whole two grand.  The new company now has all my business. read more

After several repairs in which the cost seemed outrageous, we finally had a major breakdown. The technician told us that there was really no feasible way to repair it, and the only good answer was to replace the air conditioner. When I asked how much this would cost, he refused to give me a number saying indignantly that "we do not give out estimates because you will just go to Lowes and buy a different unit for less money". I replied that I would certainly not commit to buy one without knowing the cost first, at which time he became visibly irritated and called his manager to discuss. I insisted on speaking to the manager, who then simply reiterated that they will not provide an estimate prior to us committing to replace the unit. At that point, I instructed the technician to leave the premises. I called another trusted air-conditioner professional, who came out and was able to fix the unit for about $150. Since we still had a "free inspection "available, I allowed them (against my better judgment) to come out again and inspect the unit in our attic. The technician did so, and came out acting horrified at the condition there, and said that there was too much mildew in there for him to be able to work, and again recommended replacing the unit. Again, I instructed the technician (a different one this time) to leave the premises, and called another air conditioner professional who was able to simply clean out the affected areas. Mid Florida heating and air obviously tries to make their money selling new units rather then fixing the old ones, (and evidently at premium prices since they are afraid to let the customer shop prices and make informed decisions), so this creates a situation where their assessments cannot be relied on. I would never consider using them again under any circumstances. They will probably get your AC going, but only by replacing repairable components or entire units unnecessarily. Their evaluations cannot be trusted. read more

Chris was a nice guy. His company however charges $256 for a six dollar part to be installed. A dual run capacitor. It took him less than 10 minutes. Plus you have to pay $72 just for someone to show up and then tell you you're wrong about why you think your ac isn't running properly. And Unfortunately I was right because my ac is shutting down and leaking in the house and it's not fixed. So $331 later I get a six dollar part replaced no actual diagnostics and my ac is leaking all over my tiles. So for 1/3 of a grand I got a $6 part replaced, and my machine will not survive in the next two weeks let alone the summer. Thanks for raping me of money. read more
