Small and a bit run down but one of the best Philly Cheesesteak I have had. They happily split a meal for us which was plenty.

The burger here was sooo good and the fried cheese curds are amazing!! The server was also super nice and welcoming. Beware because it seems like they like to cook the burger patty medium without asking, but thankfully I'm okay with a medium cooked burger patty. I ordered the outlaw burger and the bacon, onion rings, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce really came amazingly well together in the burger. Unexpected awesome vegan food in a little town surrounded by rural Tennessee and North Carolina! Ask for the vegan menu (it's not on the regular menu and it's a big variety). Salads, sandwiches, burgers, sides. Really good prices too. The fried chick'n sandwich was probably my favorite chick'n ever (and I've tried one at probably 20 different restaurants). Perfect ratio of crunch on the outside to chick'n inside. The garbage fries were so good but huge. My boyfriend liked his vegan bbq burger, too. They also had several vegan desserts in the display case up front. We stopped by on a Saturday evening at around 6. Not too crowded. Gotta love TN -- you can bring in your own beer. What !!! We have none of that in (state run) NC. Absolutely loved the diner vibe that this place has. So many burgers to choose from. We each had something different. They were all very tasty. The fries on the side were an enormous portion !! Would suggest you each order a different side so you can share. I was pleasantly surprised that when I checked in on YELP, a 20% off coupon popped up. SCORE !!!! Found ourselves looking for some grub after a concert, not much open but stumbled onto this gem for a late night meal. Had the burgers, mine was the Chicago with a side salad which was large enough for a meal in itself. Loved their specialty dressing. The burger was absolutely scrumptious! I was actually surprised it was so good. Mostly sandwiches, burgers, salads and fried appetizers but the kicker is they have a full vegan menu as well. Service was great. Just a fairly small unassuming place.. kind of divey but would still highly recommend especially for a meal late on the weekend. read more

I didn't get a chance to take pictures but we got the fried banana peppers, an extra thing of fries, I got the breakfast burger and the hubs got the beckinator. The burgers have a nice real grilled little bit smokey flavor. I really enjoyed my breakfast burger. The beckinator seemed a little less flavorful to me than the breakfast burger, but both were good. The peppers came with a big side of yummy runny ranch. I would hit this place up again especially for a late night meal... it's one of the few non-fast food places open and it's yummy. read more

Really a cool spot. First question after sitting down is if you want vegan menu or regular menu: that is rather cool for the vegan folk (not me). Definitely a "funky vibe" here with lots of seating and tables for groups. Menu was solid with sandwiches, burgers, salad and soup. I got the lunch special with 1/2 Pulled Pork sandwich and a salad; the salad was HUGE and really well made and the sandwich was delicious. Love the vegan options and food is always good though the fries are frequently quite salty. Food comes out quickly, however, in my experience, table service is always lack luster. The other day I was sitting there waiting for a server to show their head. I know they're nearby, I could hear them up in the lobby complaining about their tips. Watch for up charges. Place your order but be weary if they offer something. Would you like some vegan ranch for your fries? Oh, sure. Brings ticket, oh, you charged me for that??? It's one thing at a drive thru when they ask if I would like to add an additional item to my order, this was not phrased that way. Also have a service animal. Ask if I could order just a chicken patty or burger patty for them? Sure thing! On my ticket I'm charged for an entire chicken sandwich meal. Doesn't that usually come with a side item? If you going to charge me for all of that, then you could at least offer me a side item. Once ordered, they wouldn't let me set it on the floor for the service animal. Health codes for that? Ok, I get it. Could have mentioned my full price sandwich meal with no buns, toppings, pickle or side items would have to be to go. I get it though, the 20% tip wouldn't be nearly as high if you would have been honest and straightforward. You got a couple extra bucks on this order but, sadly, will likely not return. read more

Located downtown, they have a good amount of parking. There is perpendicular parking right across the street, and additional parking in the adjacent lot, as well as more a half block away It's all shared parking, so depending on what's going on downtown, it can get pretty crowded. Handicapped parking it based on the city-owned shared parking, and the only marked spaces are across the street or half a block away. Access is difficult at best. If you get a marked spot, you will need to cross a street, with wheelchair access only from the street corners unless you tip over the curb. The adjacent lot is not paved, so travel is difficult. Entry to the restaurant is also difficult as the sidewalk is uneven. Once inside, there are a couple steps down to the main dining area. For those wheelchair-bound, I believe they could set up a dining area in the side of the foyer. There are a few bar-type seats in the foyer as you enter. Walk past these to the steps down to the main dining area, which seats about 50. Most of the seating is on this level, although there is also a smaller area up a couple steps to the left. It's not truly separated by a wall, but it limits foot traffic. The decor is eclectic. It fits well with the clientele, as you will see college students, families with young children, and older adults all mixed together. At least that's what it looks like when I have been there. Since they are also open a 3am, the clientele may be different then. The menu is mainly burgers, or vegetarian options. They always have a special available, and I have gotten whatever it was each time and been highly pleased. My latest was a buffalo blue burger, which had a dollop of blue cheese on top of a burger doused in buffalo sauce. As always, the burger was cooked to perfection. The condiments and bun were fresh. The fries were hot and more than enough. I almost wish they would provide fewer fries as I cannot eat them all, and I hate wasting them. We also had the hummus plate, which included homemade hummus and sliced pita bread. The hummus was excellent, and the pita was fresh. We have also had the fried pickles, which are some of the best in Johnson City. The servers are top notch. Every one we have had has been pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. They are also some of the best in Johnson City, as they can work equally well with customers of all age groups and whoever comes in at 3am. This is a great place to relax, and the menu is diverse enough for everyone in your party to find something interesting to try. Oh, it's also BYOB, so you can bring your favorite beverage to pair with your meal. read more

I may not have ordered those fries if I knew what they would taste like. I probably would've gotten plain fries instead of sweet potato fries. But it was fine. Tried this place for the first time today cause I saw it had very high ratings and lots of praises. I guess I came on a bad day...? Had lunch---kids had sliders , hubby had Carolina bbq and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. The fries were so seasoned with pepper, no one ate them. My chicken was so incredibly bland, I put some of my salad on it to help it out. Hubby did enjoy his BBQ and the kids liked the sliders. I gave it 3 stars cause the staff is so incredibly friendly and prices were great. I will try a burger next time (yes i will try it again cause I get places have off days!) and no season on the fries! Will update review then. read more

Around the Johnson City area, one of the authentic and traditional Southern food. This place is a good substitute for all the other regular fast food chains out there. I got the chicken sandwich and the appetizer sampler. The food is decent and I personally feel the fried pickles and some deep fried stuff were a bit overdone. Mid City Grill is one of my favorite places to eat in Johnson City. The location, hours, and atmosphere are all fantastic, the servers (and delivery driver) are all super friendly, and most importantly the food is BOMB every single time! Portions are pretty big too and they have a vegan menu (which has some really good stuff on it even if you aren't vegan) Mid City is my favorite pre weekend night out downtown spot, but it's also my favorite place to call when I'm having a night in and don't wanna cook. I wish I could give them a NO STAR!!! My wife and I drove from Nashville TN to have lunch here and arrived at 1359hrs to find the door closed. I called the number on the door and a very rude lady said they close at 2pm. I pointed out that it was 1359hrs when I tried to pull on the door. The restaurant was full. We had been in the area a few times and tried 3 previous times to eat here and they were closed once for maint issue and the other two times we had no idea why they were closed. I felt like Clark Griswald arriving at Wally World only to have the door slammed in my face. I will not make another attempt at dining at this fictional restaurant. read more
