These idiots can't even pick up the phone. I'm on hold for an hour now for them to most likely tell me they don't know where my mac is or why it's taking 2 months now to look at it and tell me the obvious truth that it's broken. Useless read more

We went here for the first time a couple of days ago. WOW! There is a ton of stuff for electronics here. The prices are pretty good, from what I've seen. There was a lot of stuff to look at, and lots of neat options for customizations (such as computers). My only complaint is that it was difficult to find someone to help us find something (which ended up being locked up in the back). And it's not the fault of their employees... everywhere you looked an employee was helping someone or being followed by someone to help them find what they're looking for. The checkout lines can get long, but they have a great process to get everyone checked out quickly. The guy who rang us up was friendly and explained their policies. They allow you to have your receipt emailed to you. How cool is that?! It's a good thing this place is a bit of a trek for us, otherwise we'd be here way too often for our own good! read more

So, you want to build a Pi-Cluster with 4 Pi Zeros. First Pi is $5.00, second through fifth Pi are $9.99 EACH, more than six Pis, $14.99 each. What a bunch of crooks. As a student, this ticks me off, lost my business. read more

Some people not giving them very good ratings, but lets face it: there is nothing else like it. And they are not bad either. Amazon or newegg have better price? Well, they do the price match. Crowded sometimes? Yes, but that is the evidence they are goid and people like em. read more

I'll try to keep hyperbole to a minimum here... This is probably the WORST computer store in the state of Colorado. - It's dark - It's dirty...filthy actually. - Prices are high (however, the selection is good) - Don't think of shopping here unless you have an extra two - three hours to kill. In the purchase line, it's normally abut 15 to 20 people deep (not joking) because they typically only have one register open. - The lines for repair will take you about 20 minutes for every person you see ahead of you - they only have one person at the repair center. I was there three times (next issue) and my wait was between one to two hours, just to get to the counter. - At repairs, it says "Will begin work on: [Date about five days in the future]. That doesn't mean anything. I left my laptop there on the 28th of March, they would start work on the 2nd of April. (Just to simply change a WiFi card). Called on the night of the 2nd - haven't gotten to it yet. Called on the 3rd, then the 4th. Haven't gotten to it yet. On the 5th, I went there in person to see what's going on. They hadn't gotten to it yet. I said, screw it, give me my money back (they make you pay a bench fee in advance), and I'll take it somewhere else. Which I did. So, if you have LOTS of money and LOTS and LOTS of time, and have limitless patience for people who don't keep their word, and don't mind shopping in a place that hasn't been cleaned since 1997, then this is your store. If not, I'd suggest anywhere else in the valley. read more

I went to Micro Center to have a custom computer built for my business. I had read the reviews about the lack of personality of the employees (It's true), but these people know their stuff. I, personally, don't need a cheerleader through the computer parts buying process. I'm not one to call people names, so let's just say this is the place for those that are into technology. Mathew walked me through the entire process and directed me to all the parts that I needed. Even though they likely are paid on commission he seemed to tell it to me straight, and I don't feel that he took advantage of my limited knowledge when it comes to computers. I was truly out of my element, but I never felt looked down upon or like I was being belittled. Some reviewers complained that they couldn't find anyone to help them, but I didn't have that problem. The place was crawling with employees. Prices seem pretty comparable to what you see on the internet (newegg.com, etc) and they have EVERYTHING you could need for a computer. I would highly recommend Micro Center for any of your computer needs. read more

Don't take your computer here if you are looking to get it fixed on a budget. They want $30 off the bat for a simple diagnosis that you can do yourself on the web or on your phone. And the prices don't get better from there. Customer service wasn't friendly either. read more

This place is going downhill, they are not selling magazines any longer and the people they have working there are atrocious, I don't give them my business because there formality of asking for your personal info when purchasing is ridiculous. Great store especially for an indecisive person like me... I was in there twice in one week to return laptops for college. Not because they were broken, just because I got home and decided I wanted something else. They had great customer service while I was returning, and the sales people were very helpful while I was deciding on the PERFECT laptop. Also, their prices are sooooo much better than the computer stores in the mall... we are talking hundreds of dollars cheaper. It's a long way for me to go but definitely worth the drive for the service and prices they provide! read more

I got screwed on a protection plan at Microcenter. I discovered this when I brought my laptop to Microcenter for a minor repair. When I purchased my laptop back in February, I asked for the Accident Protection Plan, was told that I was purchasing the Accident Protection Plan, and was even given the brochure for the Accident Protection Plan. I even went so far as to ask the salesperson directly whether the coverage I was purchasing would cover accidental damage, because I would be travelling wih it. Despite those assurances, Microcenter informed me that I only have the basic warranty plan. And the only thing that the manager was willing to do was to shrug his shoulders in disingenous apology. I used to be a fan, even driving across town rather than going to the large electonics chain just a few blocks away. But now I know that Microcenter is as incompetent and uncaring as anywhere else. Screw you, too, Microcenter, I won't be back. read more

Worst computer (Mac) repair possible--ever. Took forever and I lost tons of data. I should sue.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came with my mom and little sister with the intent to buy the 21.5 inch MacBook desktop. There was only one man helping customers in the Mac section, so we were waiting for assistance from him. After waiting about 10 minutes, we decided to head to the Mac store in park meadows instead. As we were leaving, the man assisting the other customers, rapidly walks towards my mom, sister, and I and cut us off until he was facing us. Thinking he was going to assist us as we were on out way out, I stop walking to hear him out. He doesn't say anything, but instead looks toward my moms purse and analyzes us in an up and down manner. Not only did I feel violated as he was visually analyzing us, I didn't feel valued as a potential customer at all. He reduced me to the stereotypes he knows of my skin color, and he failed to see me as not only a customer, but a human being. I'm sad my sister and mother had to experience such horrible, racist, perverted, service at Micro Center. If you have small children or don't look like the norm, definitely don't shop in the Mac section or at Micro Center at all. read more

When it comes to service this place is horrible. They will not follow up with their commitments. I had called recently and asked if they had a replacement battery for my computer and they suggested that I come in. Since I was 45 minutes away I asked if I could give them the model number to my laptop (which I purchased at this store) and they took the information reluctantly and told me that they would call back. Never got a call and I got a very strong feeling that Micro Center does not care about customer service. read more

This is the real Geek Squad. I went here after a disappointing trip to Best Buy, and found excellent customer service, low prices, and awesome variety. I like the store atmosphere much better, as well. It feels like the electronics version of an Ace Hardware store. It's not a big box store that takes up more space than it needs to. It seems like there have been some bad reviews related to in-store pickup of online purchases. I can't speak to that, as I just went directly to the store for what I needed. Given the massive in-store variety, I don't really see a point in the online bit. I found exactly what I wanted at a price way better than Best Buy, got great customer service, and the check-out was very fast, even on a weekend afternoon. read more

Wow what an experience. Today I placed an order for 7 items for in-store pickup. I followed the directions and waited for the confirmation email before heading out on my lunch break from work to ideally pick them up a little quicker. When I walked in I couldn't believe the lines everywhere. It should have been obvious from the fact the huge parking lot was completely packed and people were creating spots in the back. Checkout, customer service, repair, and pickup all had long lines. After waiting in line for a little under 20 minutes to pick up my order she goes in the back and comes back with 2 of the 7 items and says that they couldn't find the other items and asked if I wanted to look. Very confused I ask so you don't have them in stock? And she replies no we are showing them in stock but they couldn't find them, would you like to look? At this point I'm about floored and ask if you guys work here and can't find them how the hell am I, the customer, going to find them? I took my 2 items and ordered the rest on Newegg.com Otherwise the store has a good selection but is extremely packed all the time. If you go there plan on waiting in line for a while. Going in for a simple pc fan can be an hour adventure. If you need something immediately (if they can find it) it's a good option otherwise save yourself the headache and order online. read more

This place rocks! I have purchased several computers here and always received outstanding customer service. Most recently I bought a new laptop, took it home and turned it on to discover any annoyingly loud internal fan. I contacted the store and they said it would be no problem to exchange it. I returned to the store and they let me turn on another computer to compare the noise level. I decided to exchange the unit I had purchased just hours earlier, the entire process was quick and easy. Thanks to Jason and Justin! read more

I tried to call the store to find out if they had a specific item that is an accessory for an external hard drive in stock. I couldn't find it on line, yet according to the description of the hard drive it is available. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an option to talk to a person over the phone. Therefore, I will be spending my money at other stores instead of this one. read more

I rarely review businesses and even more rarely do I have something negative to say, but I had to review Micro Center. I went there today to take advantage of a great deal they had on a laptop. It took me 15 minutes to get a salesperson to assist me. Once I did, the person was quite helpful, but spent another 10 minutes trying to sell me an extended warranty plan that I noted in the beginning I was not interested in. I decided to try and take advantage of their 6 months of 0% financing by applying for their credit card. I was directed to Customer Service, where after waiting yet another 10 minutes, I finally asked about the application. I was given one and promptly returned it to the associate with my ID. I was told it would take no more than 5 minutes to process. 25 minutes later, I was still waiting and no one even bothered to check on me. I finally asked someone and they went in back to check. They came out with my application and ID in hand and said that it hadn't been entered yet. Now at almost 40 minutes of waiting, he said that they would do it immediately for me. Another 10 or so minutes went by and the same associate appeared with my information in hand, telling me that they would need to re-enter and process everything because it did not take the first time. Having no more time to wait, I told him to forget it and went back to the laptops to request the item I needed. An associate assisted me and went into the back room to find the laptop. 25 minutes later, he emerged, with no apology for the wait. While this was going on, a manager came out to "thank me for my business" and I explained to him what had been going on up until that point. He did not even offer an apology or any kind of compensation for the clear incompetence that had occurred. I was directed, with my laptop, to wait on line...a line which took another 15 minutes to move. I understand that stores get busy, but there still needs to be some level of customer service. I have worked in retail and I know that the longer a customer waits, the less likely they are to follow through with their purchase. I did, in this case, because the deal was just too good to pass up. But I can honestly say, I will NEVER shop at Micro Center again--at least not this location. I'd give them one star, if not for the amazing price I got on my laptop. But I wonder if all of the waiting and back and forth was worth the money I ultimately saved. Shame on Micro Center for not valuing their customers' time and money! read more

This place is awesome! With some help from Mike C. I built my own computer yesterday. I needed a new system for work, but didn't want to buy a pre-made. I got a gaming motherboard, 1 terabyte of memory, 16 gigs of RAM, blue ray re-write, blue tooth and more for around $1000. Just the budget I was aiming for. Customer service is great! Mike even gave me his cell phone number in case I needed help. I also saved $80 in instant and mail-in rebates. Couldn't be happier. read more

absolutely terrible! Went to get my laptop screen replaced. I went to go pick it up and they told me they accidentally erased my entire computer! All my in-replaceable pictures, documents and programs are gone! I went and stood there for 45min while the guy went and tried to find it and couldn't. They lost my computer and tried making it seem like my fault. I went back a week later and it took him another 45min to find it. When he did finally find it he said they recovered my old drive and but it on a 1 terabyte external drive. That had a $80 price tag on it. I was happy that they did this compensating for the whole experience. Until I read the receipt made ME payfor the drive recovery and external drive. My drive didn't even have 15GB on it and made me pay for a drive that holds 1,000 times the needed amount. Absolutely terrible! read more

I am a techy and several of my friends are. When I go to a computer store like this one, I have already done my research and will go and buy what I need. I will say that my experience on Monday night was so-so. The sales guy I had, Joe C was awesome. He knew his job and was not only able to provide me with what I intended to buy, but pros and cons. Great product knowledge and delightful experience. So why do I give 2 stars? I went to the customer service desk and this gal who was there was so unprofessional. Pertaining to a charge card account, I had some questions and her demeanor was unacceptable. When a concerned customer asks questions, it should not become a burden, but rather an opportunity to assist and make it a pleasant opportunity. Unfortunately, she didn't care. If you go to this location, I would recommend you stay away from their customer service desk as they just don't know how to treat people. My other flaw is it's 4 days before Christmas and you only have 2 of your 10 registers open with a line of at least 20 people. Where is the manager to plan accordingly? I don't think I will be back. read more

I had a very slow cable-internet-modem-router. I thought I needed to replace it but I wasn't sure with what. Made a trip to Microcenter where a very helpful salesperson (Andre A.) asked me about my setup and recommended adding an Asus router to what I have. It was only $79.00. I thought I needed to spend a lot more. I hooked it up in a few minutes and now have very fast internet everywhere. So I recommend Micro Center for their products and their expertise. read more

Every time I go to microcenter I always experience great customer service. They always have what I need, or are more than happy to help me get what I need. Recently I upgraded my laptop, and an employee by the name of Dustin Sheil took great care of me. I was set on a 750$ asus that I was planning on upgrading later, Dustin showed me all the computers in my price range and he eventually sold me on the Aspire V Nitro Black, for just a bit more I could have far greater specs without the need for upgrading later. He was very knowledgeable, but not too pushy. I am very happy with my purchase and the shopping experience. read more

I was very disappointed with the service department. NOT a good place to take a work computer because they have no sense of urgency and they do not provide accurate information about schedule. The staff does not seem to be trained well. I dropped my work computer off to get memory and a wireless card installed on Thursday and they said that they needed to evaluate the computer and would give me a call the next day to let me know. No call on Friday so I called them and they said they would call me on Saturday. No call on Saturday so I went in to pick up my computer on Sunday because I need it for work. I was told by the service department manager that evaluation takes 4 to 5 days and acted like I should know that. I am OK with that time frame if that is what they had told me in the beginning - but the staff was not giving me correct information. If I had been told 4 or 5 days, I would have not dropped it off and waited for a time they were less busy. In addition to all this, they told me on Sunday when I picked up the computer that they would have to order the wireless card which would take 3 days. So, when you put all these days together, the computer would have to be in their service department for 9 days just to get memory and a wireless card. Like I said, if you need service on a work computer, go elsewhere. read more

I had a laptop service there the original problem solve after a 3 week process. But my warning to all do not let them have your battery or any restore software. My battery which held a 7 hour charge before service cannot hold a charge now and they cannot find the restore software that was checked in with the computer for repairs. So now I have to spend another $125.00 for a new battery and $40.00 for a new restore disk which where both unnecessary. By the way the battery was just 14 months old. read more

Just as an FYI to customers thinking of spending money at the brick and mortar locations for Microcenter, they no longer provide any phone support to local customers. It is all rerouted thorough a corporate number that you need to navigate through several unhelpful menus over the phone to even find. So if you had a question or wanted to know something about a computer or part you wanted to physically drive over and buy, tough luck. I used to buy everything computer related through them, by talking to and getting a good idea of what I was purchasing before heading over, because there in stock list is never correct, not anymore. Unbelievable. Bought a "refurbished" laptop on website, selected in-store pick up, and discovered a worthless piece of junk when I opened the box. The outside was completely scratched and dented on all sides, the button that opened the laptop was only partially functioning, the buttons on the finger pad were dead (didn't click), the track ball thing in the middle of the keyboard was detached, and this is the best part... it could not even stay on (kept restarting over and over). Are you kidding me, MC? You can't just pull a beaten up, old laptop out of a dumpster, package it, and call it "refurbished". Jerks. read more

I used to love this place. I bought a $50.00 roll ball mouse. One month and eight days later, the left side clicker quits clicking. I called and they said bring it down. I get to the service desk and the guy says to me with a weird look. That is very strange as if I broke it and want a refund yet I only want a replacement. He says, take it to the service center and maybe they can pop the button off and they can fix it for you. He points the service center out to me which turns out to be the pick up center. When I get to the service center, I stand in line for an eternity and never get help even though there are guys toward the back that do not seem to be doing anything but talking. All this for a easy $50.00 mouse swap. Guess they need that $50.00 more than I need a mouse. I will never shop here again. I'd rather purchase online and wait. They have everything but their service completely sucks and all you get is a dumb reply on here saying , Thanks for your feedback, sorry. Well if you are sorry, try doing something about it and I will believe it. read more

I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS! My first impression was stellar. I ordered a computer online Friday. I had some technical questions. The sales person asked if the technician, that wasn't available at the time, could call me back. Understood. The technician called me within one hour. Impressive. A very knowledgeable and nice gentleman told me my upgrades were available to purchase and install and ensured me the computer would be ready for me to pick up Sunday after explaining my computer had died and I needed it for my dissertation Monday. Saturday, early afternoon I received a voicemail from the technician telling me he was sorry he didn't get back to me Friday but I needed to pay before Microcenter could add anything to the computer. He assured me it could still be ready Sunday for pick up. I called Microcenter to pay. The sales person informed me I could not pay over the phone. What business does not take payments over the phone??? I explained I lived 40 minutes away and asked if I could pay online or if they could have the upgrades completed while I was in the store. She said no. My only option was to drive 80 minutes RT to the store, pay, walk the computer over to the repair counter and leave it and that it should be ready in a few days. I called a second time to speak to a manager. A manager was not available at the time but the sales person took my number and said one would call me as soon as they were. Three hours later I called the store again. I was told, again, that I could not pay by phone nor speak with a manager. I asked if I could pay online - silence. I explained that I have now called them three times in one day to find out how I can pay them for one of their computers. The sales person apologized for the inconvenience. I explained that their policy needed to be on the website and/or conveyed at the time of sale. She agreed and said she was sorry but that she couldn't help me. If this is any indication of their customer service I do not want to buy anything from this store. Heaven forbid something go wrong or I need help in the future. I decided to go elsewhere for my high-end computer. read more

Although they apparently have a wide product selection, in a warehouse atmosphere, this place has the worst customer service experience ever. I've been there a couple of times. Previously, I was shopping for a new laser jet printer. Their prices were beat by a lot at Staples where I made my purchase. The last time there I gave the sales people a Dell computer model to find out what type/size fan and DVD burner I needed. When my repair guy got started, both parts were the wrong type/size. Then I went to the pc area lookiing for a whole new setup. I was there a very long time, time enough to walk back and forth reading the display labels four times, and no one approached me to see if I needed help. There were not that many people shopping, and sales people were all over the place, even fixing displays. My coworker said that she had the same experience. I'll be making my purchase from Dell directly. Their kiosk at the mall had a great salesperson. read more

In my two visits I have been lucky not to find what I was looking for. Lucky because the line is so incredibly long that it would've taken 30 minutes just to check out! The store is poorly merchandised, poorly stocked and poorly managed. One aisle has a bunch of printer toner haphazardly thrown on the shelves. There are baskets full of memory cards and cables placed on top of the gondolas out of reach for anyone shorter than 5'10". Though they have tons of HDMI cables that you can find at every major retailer and an aisle of television mounts, this "computer specialty" store did not have a usb to RCA adapter cable that would allow me to hook up a laptop to a television. When my girlfriend was looking for a new laptop, they didn't have anything new under $300. I have spent too much time going to this dump only to be disappointed and will never be back. I brought my desktop tower in for service, knowing that I had a system fan that wasn't working. The service desk charged me $39.99 to run diagnostics and supposedly figure out the problem. I received a call one day later from the technician who told me my motherboard caps were blown. He explained that in order to figure this out all he had done was opened the computer case. He further explained that he was unable to perform any more work on the computer due to the blown caps. I appreciated his explanation, but when I went to pick up my computer I was quite disappointed that the diagnostic fee would not be refunded. This was after spending about an hour total in line at the service desk. Needless to say I was very unhappy with my service, my computer did not get fixed, I was charged 40 bucks anyway, and I wasted quite a bit of time and money in the process. I went to Microcenter to purchase a Zelda 3DS system for my fiancee's anniversary. I had spent most of the day hunting for a store that still carried one, Microcenter listed one on clearance as available and in-store. Prior to making the trip down I had called to verify that it was still in stock. "Michelle" from Ohio assured me that if it was available online, it was in the store. I requested she transfer me to the physical store so I could have someone verify the products, and she blatantly refused. As it was a pretty good deal, I decided to go down to the store. When I got there, Louis greeted immediately, and asked what I was looking for. His eyes lit up, and he said he knew exactly where it was, but it was not so. After he spent about thirty minutes searching for the item on his own, he went to request some assistance. He was then told by not one, not two, but three separate people, two in a managerial role, that, and I quote, "An employee is probably hiding it somewhere, you know how it is" and "tell the customer to try again after inventory." Well that was certainly helplful. -_- After getting rejected by pretty much everyone he went to, Louis came back and recommended a "Mario & Luigi" system. Now my fiancee and I have a bit of a Legend of Zelda history, nearly every gift we've gotten each other has been related to the game in some way, so I really didn't want to settle, so Louis gave the entire store one more try, Unsuccessfully. So I settled for the more expensive, and less related system. Well, I still needed the game. So I went to one of the managers Louis had spoken to earlier, Jon E., and asked if he would do something for me, either comp the game, or discount the system, and not only did he not offer an recompense, he laughed in my face, and walked away. Sufficiently pissed off, I left for a competitor to purchase the game, out $300 instead of the $175 Microcenter's false advertising led me to believe I would be paying. read more
