Having dined at several Bohemian hotels around the country we were very excited for an opportunity to try this new spot in town. Stopped in to have dinner and felt completely ignored from the moment we walked in. The hostess wasn't very friendly and seemed irritated to help us. Once seated we waited for 15 minutes and were never acknowledged. I approached the bar to see if we had a server because the hostess was still on the phone. The bartender curtly said "we'll be there in a minute" and then whispered something to the other bartender and they laughed. There were 3 people at the bar and two bartenders so it's not like they were busy. We were excited to try the restaurant and are big fans of the Bohemians in other cities. We stayed at grand bohemian and this is hotel signature restaurant. I had filet. Wife had scallops. Great food and great service. Very Buji so we dressed well and so should you as they state smart casual. I say a bit up. Are dessert was also option. Definitely go. Visited Micos this weekend for a Birthday party; we reserved their private room as there were over 15 of us. From the time we arrived we were provided amazing service by Maha and Brandon. The food came out in a timely manner and was so good; i had the Salmon which we prepared by Chef Duane and wrapped everything up with cake made by Savannah. Would definitely visit again. read more

Well considering we splurged on an order of wagu steak for $145 per plate..: it was served well done - over cooked we ordered medium. After waiting 40 minutes we got another plate ...: The only thing they offered was a glass of wine ... which we were not even ordering . Service was good as far as our waiter Jesse' goes. Im not the type to leave reviews but this one was such a roller coaster I had too. From the beginning there was issues with hostess, I called to make reservation gave my name and number. Get a call next day wanting to confirm. Return call and they tell me they canceled my reservation that I never called!? Following day, they some how find it. When we arrive I state to hostess Linda that I have a reservation and she gives me the rudest mocking face and says ".......ok name". No hello, how are you, like some type of normal greeting. Very uncomfortable that even the other hostess apologized. The reason I even gave 3 stars and not 1 was bc the food/drinks were actually good and our waitress Tanner was very knowledgeable and sweet. The end was also uncomfortable. We were enjoying the last bit of our drinks, getting ready to leave as the manager approaches our table to tell us we need to leave since they have another reservation ready... NEVER has this happened to me. You would think after a $400+ tab you wouldn't be kicked out. I want to understand but we have dined during covid and this has never happened. I was a little disappointed on the food. The waiter said it was Argentinian and Mediterranean cuisine, but it was not authentic for neither. The dinner was good and they had good plating skills. The drinks were great and the decoration was beautiful. read more

First time eating here. The food was amazing but the service was even better! Mikey was our server, and he went above Amazing food but even better service! Our server, Mikey, turned an ordinary day into something truly special. He went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I enjoyed our brunch. He greeted us quickly and by name, anticipated our drink needs, made excellent food recommendations, and even made dessert sound so delicious we just had to order one. We took a while to graze over our appetizer and he timed our entree perfectly. He told us the extensive history behind the hotel, which is quite spectacular. Also, he noted the rooftop bar will open soon, which we cant wait to come back for! Mikey was great, and we highly recommend asking for him to be your server. Two friends and I went to Grand Bohemian for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The hotel is beautiful and the ambience is very nice inside the restaurant. Our server was terribly subpar and downright unprofessional at times. Not attentive at all. She even told us at one point when she came over to take our order that she didn't have time to stand by our table while we made decisions. Huh?!?! Never mind that we had questions about menu items, etc. The food was OK. We ordered the coconut fried chicken and waffles, chorizo frittata, bacon, and bohemian hash. The waffle was dense, not fluffy and light. The chicken had a great taste and was tender. Home fries were flavorful. Frittata was good. But again, food was OK ... nothing to write home about though. Prices were very reasonable. The drinks were the redeemers of our experience. I had the Alfa Romero and the Trade Street Sangria which were both delightful. Another friend had a mimosa and the Mate Latte which were also tasty. Overall I'd return for the drinks and ambiance ... definitely not for the food or service which was a disappointment. read more

I have to say that my experience was the worst experience ever and this is a real review. The customer service at MICO was HORRIBLE. Please don't listen to the comments about it being a nice place, I am sure someone was told to write the comment to give them a good review. First, I will start by mentioning the truth which is that it was an unwelcoming experience and if you are a person of color, (POC) please save your money and don't eat here because your money is not welcomed. My first time there is now my last time. I came there with two friends and the place was nice. It was not full to compacity and when I walked in, I was alone. There was no line and I some empty seating that was not reserved (yes, I asked to be sure). I stood at the front desk waiting patiently on a person for me to be seated and when someone arrived they told me to wait to be seated, so I did. They did not have anyone to clear the booth in the front and because I was so tired of waiting because there was no line and I was the only person at the door or waiting, so after someone came back to the front desk, they said yes, and mentioned to me that I could sit at the empty table and that they would get someone to clean it. I waited for 15 minutes and finally, a bartender named Chelsea came to clean the table. She was so kind and she apologized for my wait. I am sure she noticed how awkward it was to have a person sitting at a dirty table and not being waited on, but before Chelsea came over to apologize for my wait, the waiter that was supposed to take my order walked right passed me seating at the dirty table and didn't even ask for my drink order. I am one person, so it would have been easy to at least greet me or to take my order but they did not. The couple next to me were kind and was a Caucasian couple who noticed what happened as well. However, the male waiter walked past me to serve the white couple that came in after me. He greeted them 3 times, took their order after they refused to have their order taken the first time, and he never waited on me. Yes, I heard the entire conversation because I waited silently to observe the prejudice and disrespect happening. I did so because I wanted to be sure, I saw exactly what was happening. He had dirty blonde hair, pale skin, and was a height between 5'6 -5'8. However, he never took my order, but thank goodness Chelsea did. In trying to be descriptive I would describe her as an African American woman that is usually at the bar and she makes awesome drinks and is very kind. The service here was so horrible, that a guy whose job to clear the tables, as a restaurant attendant (he wore a black shirt) had to take my order because the waiter and waiters (wear white shirts) continued to walk past my table. It if was not for Chelsea and the restaurant attendant who was also African American, I would not have had service. They checked on me and made sure I had my order taken, and if not I would have walked out. When my friends arrived, we had to flag a waiter to get service and when the guy with the blond hair stopped, he was very disrespectful when speaking about the guy who helped. It was as if he was speaking down on him and he called him a busboy who wasn't supposed to our order. Busboy, is not necessarily a good term to use in 2020 and I mentioned to the waiter that the "busboy" was amazing and I would like him to take my order because he and the bartender, Chelsea were the only two nice enough to stop to ask. Chelsea and the guy who took my order (not the waiter), were both Black and I am sure they noticed how often Black people and other POC are treated at this restaurant so they came to the rescue. Also, I told the manager Courtney and explained to her what happened. Courtney is short with blonde hair and can care less about how a person is treated. When I told her what happened she did not ask how she could have helped the situation, she did not offer a refund (money was not an issue), she didn't ask the name of the waiter, she did not check on our table, she didn't get any of our names to make it better if we wanted to return or try to make accommodations. She was terrible and reacted in a way that was really dismissive. She said, sorry and turned her head. My guests who traveled hours to see me felt so disrespected that they turned around walked out after paying for their dinner and said they are not to ever come to a place where they feel unwelcome and have to feel as if they are begging for good service. To furthermore prove that this is in fact an honest review, I mentioned this to 3 friends one who is Caucasian, one who is Hispanic, and the other who is African American and they agreed and also heard the service was not good. read more

I enjoyed a business meeting at Mico and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The bar is inviting and feels open with bar stools as well as couches and seating around the bar area that also offer bar service. The dining area is open and moody with a modern feeling. I enjoyed the meat and cheese board and the impossible meatballs for a starter, which were both good. The impossible meatballs were dry and seemed overcooked, but the tofu aioli and chickpeas were delicious. For a main I tried the cauliflower steak and the ribeye. The ribeye was ordered medium rare, but came cooked to a medium. It was still buttery and delicious. Both entrees were served with a chimichurri sauce that was delicious! Dessert was their tres leches and an espresso. The tres leches was incredible and I could have eaten more than one. The service was great considered the staffing issues affecting the service industry coming off of the pandemic, but nonetheless I enjoyed my dinner and experience. read more

Hands down the most disappointing meal I've had in Charlotte. Horribly overpriced for mediocre cuts of meat and I'm confident they blatantly lie on the size of meat cuts. I knew as soon as we walked through the door of The Grand Bohemian lobby for a meal at Mico, we were in for a real treat. Our server Tanner made some terrific recommendations and selected some great wine pairings to go with our meals. The chef's amuse bouche was a great way to start followed by delicious blue crab stuffed lobster tail and a creamy celery root soup. The nightly special was paella, and it did not disappoint. The portions were generous with flavor profiles to please any palate and were served by Tanner at the perfect pace to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I'm only giving one star because my burger and cocktail were great. The first time I came on my birthday, our server had a nasty attitude and seemed like she hated her job. I decided to give this place a second chance yesterday because I have a room in the hotel for the week. Me and my friend sat in the cocktail area around 9:15 I believe, and our server didn't look happy to see us, she didn't smile at us at all. She took our drink order, came back and took our food order. Someone else brought our food. She didn't come to check on us not one time. I needed ketchup and water that we never got in the beginning. Couldn't find her at all so my friend asked another employee that was walking past us if she could assist us. Her response was "your server will be right with you" twice with an attitude. Which is another way of saying I'm not helping you, so wait. Finally our server comes over I ask her for water with lemon and ketchup. She comes back and just puts the waters with NO lemon on the table and ketchup. I said "Thank You" she says nothing back and walks off. I'm not sure if this was a personal issue, even though I've never met this woman in my life but, she checked on and spoke with every other table in that cocktail area that she waited on, besides US. She was so rude I couldn't even tip her. We didn't even want to drink there anymore. I'm just highly confused why the service is so bad in this restaurant, with it being such a nice place with good food. read more
