I visited this Mick's All-American location for an evening mixer with a large group and came away impressed, especially compared to the location near Progress Avenue and Linglestown Road. This one is laid out better for a crowd, and it handled a standing-room-only event surprisingly well. Because I was with a big group, the usual service details didn't really apply, but the bar staff kept things moving. I didn't hear anyone complaining about drink waits beyond what you'd expect with a packed mixer where people are constantly circulating and the bar area is full of conversations. The staff stayed friendly and didn't seem bothered by the volume. What stood out most was how consistently the team was cleaning and clearing. Glasses and empties never piled up. Even in spots that weren't obvious from the bar, staff were coming through regularly and picking things up quickly. With that many people in the space, that level of attention was noticeable. The place stayed clean the whole time. It was loud, but that was the group, not the venue. Parking was easy since it's in a shopping center, and getting in and out was straightforward. I didn't try the food, but it's a chain, so I assume it's consistent with other locations. Overall, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from going, and I'd go back if I were in the area and in the mood for a drink or a casual sports-bar type meal. read more

We are fans of the Mick's on Linglestown Rd and frequently stop by, so we decided to take my mom out for lunch to the Mick's near Mt Joy since it's close to her. While they are the same chain of restaurants, the one in Mt. Joy definitely was not the same as the one on Linglestown. We tried the Thanksgiving egg roll, which was very good and served with a side of gravy. It should also come with a side of cranberry sauce for that holiday "twang". One of us ordered the Cottage Pie, which was served hot. I ordered the build your own burger, which is a favorite of mine at the other location. I was vastly disappointed by this burger, which did not resemble the juicy mouth watering version I was used to. The atmosphere was fine and service friendly, but I don't see us returning to this location. read more

We had a large party (25+) on a Saturday night, I called 1/2 an hour before our arrival. The staff at Mick's was very accommodating. The service was excellent considering we overwhelmed the entire staff, lol! The beer selection was pretty good and everyone reported the food was "so good"! Could see some but not taste it. We then received our BONELESS wings that came as BONE-IN instead. When we FINALLY received what we ordered--boneless--the outside was so hard my wife could not bite into them. The server announced the wings were adjusted from our order. The only adjustment made was that we were charged for boneless instead of bone-in wings. No adjustment to what we actually ordered. Final take on Mick's: Two drinks (1 wine, 1old-fashioned), 2 soups (1 onion crock, 1 crab bisque), and one dozen boneless chicken wings at Happy Hour came to $56.50. We were attempting to get lunch before heading to the sports complex. we arrived at around 12:30 which was many of time to be at our 2-15 game..... or so we thought. our waitress took our order, then several other tables of four people arrived. they were waited on by another waitress. we sat for about 20 minutes and finally got drinks. another five for straws. people who came in after us started getting their food. our never arrived...... we waited 1 hour before I spoke up. another 15 minutes my husband spoke up. finally our food arrived with 5 minutes to slam it down before leaving for our game. it was cold and obviously forgotten. We were really offered no explanation and not offered any discount and were given our bill to pay and left. I have worked in customer service all of my life and am so extremely disappointed in how this situation was handled. if you have any hopes of eating, do not go here. I love this place! I have never had a bad experience at any of their locations. Service is always prompt and friendly, and I have loved all of my meals there! My favorites are the crab dip, crab pretzel, wings and chicken quesadilla. My fiancé loves the wings and sandwiches as well. They also have a great selection of bottled and draft beers. There's plenty of seating at the bar, which is nice. I will continue to frequent Mick's! read more

This place is mediocre at best. Came here around 1 pm on a Saturday to check it out. Sports bar grub it was not. And wow, the prices for what you get? Wow. The prices in general? It's hard to find much under 15.00. I ordered the Stephanie which was basically a Rachel with a small side of chips. It was alright, but basically diner quality food. 13.00 Bucks? Not worth it. I ended up with an upset stomach afterwards. My fiancée got the chicken bacon wrap that was also 13.00 with chips. Ummm, small meal. For these prices, it should come with fries. Service was fine, nothing to complain about there. This is the only reason it gets two stars and not one. Also, blaring country music is not everyone's cup of tea. Good pickles though! read more

After a long hiatus and not so pleasant experience with an appetizer we decided to check out their new location and cash in on our (now) few year old appetizer comp. The new location is not only much closer to us but easy to find parking and convenient. The shopping center where it is located is not yet completely full of retail establishments but once it's completed will be very useful to those in the area. Upon entry the new space was very large and consisted of a large open space and a smaller room off to the side which is where we dined. It felt like new construction, but lacked any warmth or identity and I felt very "exposed" in such a massive space. A little décor, plants, booths or half walls or columns would benefit this space greatly. I requested a window seat as it was just beginning to get dark and the place was (in my opinion) too dark to be comforting. The waitress explained that the owner likes it dark to create "ambience" but I felt it was too dark - and would have appreciated it the lights hung over the tables in lower proximity so it was would be easier to read the menu. In addition to our comped appetizer - the spinach/artichoke dip, I ordered the meatloaf meal and the hubby a Stromboli. The appetizer was a huge improvement over our last visit; generous in size and had a nice presentation. However it was lukewarm and smothered in a tomato garnish which I could have done without. My meatloaf meal was also a good serving size but was dense and slightly overcooked. The mashed potatoes were real and tasted like the kind grandma used make. The veggie of the day - a sautéed sliced Brussel spout medley was the star of the plate. Unique, flavorful and my favorite! While I believe the gravy was pork or poultry - I craved a rich, dark beef version and felt it would have complimented the meal better. Hubby was neither under or over impressed with his Stromboli but he rarely gets excited about food. Service however was so-so. We had three people waiting on us yet still had to ask for napkins, water refills, as well as the check. The appetizer was not comped and this needed corrected on our bill which caused us to wait some more. Overall an additional 20 minutes was wasted on the check alone - flagging down someone to present it to us, flagging them down to correct it, flagging them down to take it, plus the wait for our card to be returned. Considering they weren't that busy and we had service from three different wait staff personnel throughout our meal I think the payment process should have gone quicker. With that being said we would and will go back. It's convenient location and no wait to be seated is a bonus however due to the lack of lighting and our difficultly reading the menu will only patronize during daylight hours. read more
