1 lb Diablo boneless wings - meh
    Anita W.

Food - 2 stars, but the excellent service bumped it to 3 stars for me. Food is like something you'd get from the frozen section of SAM's Club or Walmart. Not terrible... but very much lends more to TV dinner quality than high quality pub food... I ordered the Diablo boneless wings - frozen heavily breaded glorified nuggets in a spicy mash/sauce - breading was so thick & hard on most pieces that I couldn't stab them with a fork. Others ordered chicken fingers that were similar low-quality frozen tenders... fish n chips had much too thick breading & was either very overcooked or the fryer oil was in need of a change... their salads are pretty decent & surprisingly are made with fresh mixed greens & not iceberg lettuce. I wouldn't go back, but if I had to - I'd order a salad. Our server was great and pushed this to a 3 star review.

We have not gone wrong with any of the appetizers. The French dip is a hit. The tavern sandwiches seem to go over well with our patrons. We like the hand cut fires, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts as sides. Our diners do not recommend the smash burgers. But these diners usually like rarer meats. We have yet to try the pear and beat salad but plan on it in the future. The expanded place has a warm bar feel and can accommodate larger parties. The patio is nice in the Summer and the creek makes a peaceful setting. You can catch sports on the larger TVs while dining inside. And the bar is typically full when we have been there.

Stopped in to Mad Chef unexpectedly while traveling through Lancaster…read more My wife and I were hungry and tired from traveling through Pennsylvania. Thankfully Mad Chef was open later than most places so we got in before the kitchen closed. I enjoyed the low lighting with the brewery equipment shining in the background. Having the Phillies game on the tv's only added to our experience. Our drinks and food were excellent. I always like to enjoy a local craft beer, having it paired on site with fabulous eats is even better. I ordered Mr Dynamite Brown, their American brown ale which was fabulous. We ordered a small Pommes Frites (French fries) that were cooked in Canola oil. While light in color, these fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted just right. My wife ordered the pretzel and said it was her type, buttery, salty, and doughy. I ordered the Korean Pork Nachos, by far the best nachos I've ever had the pleasure to devour. I can't begin to describe how well the roasted corn poblano medley brought this plate together. Every bite had an explosion of flavor with the Korean glaze and Gochujang aioli. This dish blows Guy Fieri's trash can Brisket nachos out of the water. If ever in Lancaster don't pass up on the Mad Chef Craft Brewing gem.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!
