"Oh, Mickey... You're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!" Mickey Hargitay Plants is the coolest little big plant store, plant nursery, garden center and serene landscaping places I've ever seen. From the pure vibrant vibes to the incredible staff that make this gem thrive. Tucked away in Hollywood on the cusp of West Hollywood off of Sycamore Ave and Fountain Avenue, just a small skip east from La Brea Avenue. They're open from 9 AM until 5:30 PM all 7 days of the week. And carry plants, planters, gardening essentials and wonderoud things of all shapes and sizes. I've been passing by frequently for nearly two months on my way to work usually before they're open or after they're closed on as I make my way home and finally got to stop in and explore. That wave of calm, relaxation and vibrance that being around nature and all it's planty goodness lives here in abundance. Explore in person, place orders for pick up or even delivery. Mickey Hargitay has a rich history to match it's ambiance since it's birth in 1980, starting off with succulents, cacti and their own macrame designs Voted one of the best places to buy plants in 2015. Featured in the L.A. Times in 2016. Featured in Voyage LA in 2021. Not to mention a great spotlight in 2025. Founded and owned by Mickey Hartigay Jr. a fellow Sag and plant lover like myself. He and every single person here is a gem, I picked up on nothing but good energy even after the end of a long day and rainy weekend everyone here does their best to bring a slice of joy to each person. Ringing up my assortment right as they were closing they still didn't miss a beat. Hoping to stop in a lot more (scheduling pending) and get to know everyone, find more plants for the house as well as a new plant for my boyfriends place of even bring him in to explore. Pup friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. Recently started following their Insta and I'm "obsessulated!" Easy parking in the neighborhood, street parking primarily or an easy stroll in closeby, riding the metro or parked off La Brea. Four new very healthy plants in various sizes for under $20... Insert all the heart eyes and plant emojis here!!

I have heard about this place from others but never checked it out until recently. I love plants and collect as a hobby. This was a 30 minute drive for me but that's nothing when it comes to enjoying a walk through some awesome plants. There isn't much parking and you have to find a spot on the street. Upon entering the property you are consumed with lush and rare greenery. I found many sought after plants and they were priced accordingly. There are many areas in their outdoor area as well as inside the greenhouse. Most plants have a price on the pot of on a tray if there are multiples. There is also a pottery shop although I didn't go in there. I could have easily left with a car full of plants but was able to exercise restraint and only left with a sweet Hoya Polyneura. Hope you enjoy my photos!

I think I found my new plant store! I love the variety of plants they have here plus they have everything to pots, fertilizers, and all plant related tools you need. The staff is also very helpful for any questions I had! I recently moved to a new apartment so I was in search of new plants for my new home and I did not leave disappointed. I easily spent 2 hours walking around their garden and it just feels so peaceful and therapeutic during my visit. I went on a Sunday but I was able to find street parking out front.

Plenty of plants with color.

Really awesome plant shop with all kinds of different plants in different sizes. The plants here look very healthy and happy. They're just waiting to be purchased and loved in a new home. There's a calmness here as you walk around the property and soak everything in. This shop has been here for many years and you can see the love they put into their business. The staff is friendly and helpful with all of your questions. I like that the shop is very clean and organized. It's a bit pricey, but quality is not cheap, nor should it be. They stand behind all customer purchases. I've purchased several plants and trees over the years and have never had an issue.

I walked over here from the Tesla Diner charger which was a really quick and easy walk and super convenient for passing time. The nursery has a great variety of plants at very reasonable prices, and most of them looked healthy and well cared for. Inside they had all the pots and substrates. The staff was okay. They were not the friendliest or most approachable, but they did answer questions when asked. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered that my Hoya Krohniana Super Silver had severe root rot. The entire plant was basically a loss, which was really disappointing after how nice it looked in-store. Overall, it's a decent place with good selection and pricing, but I'd recommend checking plants carefully before buying.

I found my new favorite nursery in this town! I also LOVE coming to see their cats! Hyena is so sweet and adorable! Her sister is a bit fiesty but I LOVE that they have cats!!!

Basically little plant heaven. It's a little crowded (aisles are narrow) but it's part of the charm. They have a wide variety of plants in all sizes. Every plant i saw was healthy/well taken care of and affordable! I came to buy a gift for my professor's retirement (the bonsai pictured) and ended up picking up another plant for a friend. The bonsai was 18 and the succulent was 8 dollars which is super affordable. They have a cute shop cat (possibly more than 1) who was lounging in the sun. I will be going back to buy plants for myself. They have a sign saying tips are appreciated. I assumed there might be a screen at the end of paying but there was not. So, if you are inclined to tip, bring cash!

My sister Cheryl Hoffman bought three Croton plants a while back and placed them in the front of her home on the way up to the Hollywood sign. One of the plants didn't make it through the rainy season so we just got a brand new one from Mickey's place. It is so beautiful. We also took one of the pots back to have them drill some holes in the bottom so the water wouldn't stand and the new one is in the center of the pictures. Look how beautiful everything is! They were so helpful- the young man drilling the holes today and the plants themselves are truly Hollywood magic! Wonderful place to do business with.

Incredibly friendly staff, beautiful plants and a beautiful setup, it feels like a little getaway right in the city. Not only are you able to shop for plants but it feels like a well curated experience itself. I have a great time every time I visit.

Best plant store in LA! It's got such a nice, small, local feel to it but the selection of plants is just as big and diverse as a huge chain plant store! The staff are all so kind and helpful too. I always come here with the intention of getting one or two things and end up leaving with at least five minimum. It's hard to beat this selection with these prices!! And extra bonus, they have two (I think) gorgeous shop cats that roam the shop!

Clasp repair.

Great service!!! Repaired the clasps on my vintage bracelet onsite within a few minutes! Thank you to Megan! Much appreciated!

I am a newer plant mom and that was made possible by Francisco and Jocelyn at Mickey Hargitay Plants. Francisco was SO incredibly helpful during my first visit at the beginning of September, he made me hooked on plants! Seriously! I went to Mickey Hargitay in search of some cat-friendly houseplants and came out with a half dozen plants that bring me joy as I walk around my apartment. I went back a couple of weeks ago and Jocelyn provided the same five star service. Both were so attentive and patient with me, like I said - I am a newer plant mom. This plant store looks small from the outside but if you have the opportunity to wander inside, you'll be teleported to a beautiful space with plants on plants on plants. Plus, there are a handful of cats wandering around (my favorite!) There are so many different types of plants - including those of the indoor and outdoor variety. My plants were adopted from Mickey Hargitay healthy and they continue to thrive even in their new home. OH, duh, let's not forget about the price point - the plants are so reasonably priced!!! The selection of pots is also extensive and reasonably priced. It's no wonder Mickey Hargitay has an incredible amount of reviews on Yelp - they are truly worthy of the five star rating. Is there such a thing as too many plants? I think not! I want more plants, I need more plants. Thank you Mickey Hargitay, hope to see you again soon!!!

I was thinking of using epoxy-stabilized gravel. I had other matching rock in the front yard. I expected to use something smaller per the epoxy maker's recommendations. Alan, Standard Design Group's designer, recommended using 3/4" crushed rock so it would match the pathway through the center of the front yard. This was terrible advice. Epoxy-coated rock is much darker than uncoated rock, so matching the size was irrelevant. The epoxy-coated 3/4" rock has enormous spaces between the rocks that trap trash and leaves and allow weeds, wildflowers, and the neighboring palm trees to germinate in them. Weeding the porous structure is very difficult. Pulling the wildflowers has broken loose large chunks of the epoxy-coated rock. Small chunks and individual rocks are breaking free from foot traffic. Alan never visited the site. He underestimated the amount of epoxy required. The installation crew's foreman was going to leave patches of the rock uncoated. When I saw it and told him that it was not what I expected, he had the workers mix some of the already coated and curing rock with the dusty, uncoated rock. This resulted in weak bonding with even larger spaces between the rocks. There were still uncoated patches left. I contacted Standard Design Group by email after the installation and again after chunks of rock began breaking free. I did not receive a response.

We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. We are looking forward to asking Gio and his team to re-imagine and transform the side and front landscaped areas of our home. We can't recommend him enough.
