Continuing 7 zip codes northeast of home into downtown Baltimore 21201. My friend was in town for a conference, and a group of them were meeting for dinner here at Mick O'Shea. I took the light rail into downtown on that hot July 2023 late afternoon. We walked up here. I got what Irish pubs are often known for, which was fish & chips. Fish & chips were subpar, kind of all mostly breading. A good amount of fries at least, which were superior to the fish. Service was very slow. People's food arrival was vastly different from each other. My friend was hangry as it was ridiculous of them to be so slow with his. This was not a good experience and wouldn't be back here.

Mick O'Sheas was within walking distance of our hotel, so we decided to try it out. It is a small neighborhood irish pub. Atmosphere is nothing spectacular. Infact, one of my reasons for the lower stars is that we sat towards the back where it smelled like old cigars and a musty mold filled room. The smell was a turn off for me. Service was fast and our waiter was friendly. We ordered a french dip sandwich and the black bean burger with yucca fries. The food was tasty, except for the yucca fries. They were cut too large and tasted like they were fried with fish... again another turn off. However, the french dip and the burger were tasty. Portions were large.

My first time at this restaurant and it was suggested by my coworkers. The food was pretty good! Our waitress, Sarah was amazing! The restaurant had a lot really neat artifacts. It's in the downtown area of Baltimore, and I highly recommend checking it out.

I'm not a huge fan of Irish pubs but it was Saint Patrick's Day and we just had to partake at Mick O'Shea's. It wasn't as terribly crowded as I expected and we were able to grab a four top in the dining room. The hostess let us know we had a two hour time limit since there were reservations coming in which was no problem. I really appreciate them being so accommodating on such a busy day! The inside is absolutely gorgeous with a big wooden bar, lots of bar stools, and a counter facing the window which was open on this particularly nice day. I was drinking Jameson and ginger since I can't drink beer but my boyfriend commented on how the Guinness was just perfect. And it really looked delicious, I was actually jealous. My boyfriend got the chicken nachos and our friend got the fish tacos. The nachos were pretty good, exactly what you'd expect at a bar. Liquid cheese, jalapenos, the works. The fish tacos were a generous portion size with big filets of fried fish in each flour tortilla. My friend loved them. The service was friendly and efficient too. This was a surprisingly great experience and I would definitely return beyond St. Patrick's Day.

Stopped by Mick O'Shea's for a happy hour and had a great time. Located in downtown Baltimore, Mick O'Shea's is a staple that anyone craving Irish drinks and food will definitely want to stop by. Happy hour specials were very good and reasonably priced. Lots of great options on the menu and went with the traditional fish and chips and didn't disappoint. For those who want to have groups more than five please read the menu regarding split checks or additional charges. Overall great experience and will be back.

Downright friendly neighborhood pub with surprisingly delicious food and great beer/whiskey selection. Best yucca fries as a side dish, perfect with the dip!! Checkout the weekend specials, they have a varied selection and sometimes run out. Love the grilled rockfish, chicken quesadilla and shepherd's pie. Dave and his crew are awesome, Thoran and Omar took such great care of us. The chef is amazing, this is one place that stands above the rest when it comes to food and service!!

Yummy Irish food with great service. We came for lunch on a spring Saturday and the ambiance was great. Folks chatting, amazing music,, not too crowded or loud at all. Good drink. Fun! Food: Best fish n chips I've had in Baltimore so far Good burger and toppings Best chili I've had in a long time (got all toppings - sour cream green onions jalapeños)

If I had the time to be "a regular" anywhere, I think Mick O'Shea's is the place I would pick. It's just such a solid bar/pub - the drinks are reasonably priced and the list is long (not just beers but also whiskey/scotch/bourbon and other things), the food is also pretty damn good and the wooden interior is cozy. I personally really like the location, there's some cute shop type things in the area and it's central to a lot of things. The last time I came here with my friend we got a couple appetizers to share and it was amazing! I liked everything we got, even the egg rolls, which I typically don't like egg rolls. I definitely recommend the crab or shrimp dip, they put a deliciously dangerous amount of cheese on it.

We stopped by on a Friday for lunch and they posted a strong emphasis on live entertainment. A friend who frequents the area mentioned their music nights are especially popular and can draw quite a crowd. The location sits right on the waterfront, and I can imagine the sunsets here must be spectacular. Although it is conveniently located just off the main highway not far from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, traffic noise never intruded on the dining experience. Our server was in the process of training a new staff member, and both were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout the meal. Menus are provided at the table, though prices are accessed by scanning a QR code. Pricing was very reasonable, and the menu offered a nice variety of both seafood and non-seafood options. The fish sandwich can be ordered either fried or grilled. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful, and the sandwich itself was satisfying without being overly heavy. While there was no house-made sauce, the freshly made potato chips were nice and thick, crisp and a standout side. Our friends shared a burger and a basket of fried shrimp, both of which they thoroughly enjoyed. Cold drinks arrived promptly and were perfect for the warm waterfront atmosphere. There were no overly complicated dishes or unexpected twists on the menu, but everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned, and tasty. This is definitely a spot I would recommend if you are in the area. Don't let the daytime appearance fool you -- this place clearly comes alive once the crowd and music arrive.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour.
