What a difference a few days make. The service sucks, they were too busy doing shots with the regulars, not thinking the next person could be. The new regular. I'll never understand that. Y Think about how you got the regulars to begin with. Treat everyone the same and you will build more regulars. Service at this bar is terrible. The two male bartenders are more interested in trying to get laid vs serving customers. My friend was cut off after two beers, the bartender said he was slurring. We had just gotten there, and it took my friend over two hours to drink two beers, we were just chatting. Other patrons were doing shots and drinking, but continued to be served. It's our first night in Baltimore, getting ready to drop off our oldest child at college and we stumbled upon Mick O'Shea's within walking distance of our hotel. The staff was welcoming and friendly from the get go and we were seated quickly in a comfortable booth. Our server, Ashton, quickly greeted us and was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. My husband is a whiskey lover and was pleasantly surprised to find quite a variety of options to choose from on the menu. He was the only one to drink and gave his well-filled glass of Elijah Craig Small Batch on the rocks two thumbs up. The food menu is full of lots of options and all 4 of us were able to find something we would be sure to enjoy - and we definitely did! My husband got the O'Shea Burger and it was cooked perfectly to his specifications and included chips he called his favorite kind, giving the dish five stars. I got the French Dip with a substitute side of Jasmine Rice instead of chips and inhaled every savory bite. Our youngest enjoyed his chicken tenders and fries app as a meal and said they were delicious, and the newest Baltimore resident in the family thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Salmon with a perfect side salad and Cole Slaw. The portions were sized just right and we were all 100% pleased with our meals, and look forward to this being our go-to spot every time we come for a visit. read more

Mick OSheas is a great old style Irish tavernas lives up to its name. The fish and chips were better than I had hoped for, the calamari fresh and the dipping sauce tasty. In the mood for something a little different, we decided to head over to Mick O'Shea's for dinner. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks and dishes to share. I wanted to try another Maryland Crab Soup, so I ordered a bowl size for us to split. When I find something I like, I try to taste it enough to be able to capture the flavor of the recipe so I can make it at home. I really liked this one the most of my whole trip. To drink, I had Magner's Cider with a poured in shot of Jameson. That's the best combo. My guy had another UFO Hefeweizen on draft. He loves those wheat beers. We ordered the Ploughman's platter because it had both sausage and cheese with a baguette and fruit. A great meal for sharing. I absolutely loved the Irish Basil Cheese, the flavor is really great and the color so unique. It was my first time trying it. Next up was the show stopper of the night, a 1/2 pound of Guinness Steamed Shrimp. More of these amazing quality of jumbo gulf prawns. Really cool, trendy, eclectic, neighborhood Irish, bar with local music. I sat with a Guinness, nachos, and live music and was content people watching for the evening after work. The staff was attentive and fun to be around. They also had a pretty good menu and patrons were ordering takeout all night. I must have seen 10 people order takeout from the bar as I sat for 2 hours. I went here yesterday (Thursday) with a coworker for the happy hour deals. At the time we arrived (around 5 PM), it was seat-yourself seating. We grabbed a booth in the back-half of the pub. I ordered a snakebite (half Guinness half Cider, I chose Magner's) and my colleague had whiskey on the rocks. She also ordered a quesadilla. My Snakebite was excellent and a great price too! The quesadilla overall was pretty typical for pub fare. It was a good size and was $2 off per the happy hour deal. Our waiters (there were two because I believe they had a shift change soon after we got there) were friendly and attentive. Came here on a week night with some friends. Had a good time. They had good service and their nachos and chicken pot pie were surprisingly good. We shared everything. Parking can be tough since it is on Charles St. and it can be busy in the evening especially on the weekends. They have another area in the back for more seating and additional groups. They also have darts in the back for group activities. I came to mainly hang out with friends so I only got draft beers since I am not all that into alcohol anyways. We went there because it was within walking distance of our hotel and liked the sound of the place and the menu. Two of us had burgers and one had the Shepherds pie. The food was ok overall. My friend really liked the shepherds pie. We got there on a Saturday night around 7 pm and easily got a seat. My biggest complaint about this place was the service. The waitress may have been new but it didnt appear that way. We asked what was on draft.. She had no idea. Then she said that" there was one beer with a really long name that people order a lot" It was a little down hill from there. But the place had nice decor. We were a little to early but they were going to have live music and they were setting up when we left. There are also some tvs around for sports if you are interested. i would probably not go back. There are so many other options in Baltimore that I think i would try other places before a return visit, especially since i dont live in the area. read more

Wanted Cream of Crab Soup and wife was hoping for lobster, but I wanted to avoid the high priced tourist destinations and this exceeded expectations. She LOVED the wings and Greek salad. I can't eat solid food, and this was absolute perfection. We were trying to get a cab back to the hotel and the cab company wanted credit card information ocer the phone. My colleague and I were looking for somewhere fun on a Friday evening and shared that a friend of hers was performing at Micks. We decided to head over and check it out. By far, one of the best experiences I've had on a Friday in a long time. This establishment had live music, great (strong) drinks and delicious small bites to touch anyone's palate. Although it is advertised as an Irish spot, they had great American (bar) cuisine for those of us who don't eat typical "Irish food". The band that was playing, played Jamaican music and they were great. I appreciate any restaurant that hosts local artists and gives them an opportunity that can share their craft with the world. I understand that the waitress isn't to responsibility for products that aren't accessible, but she should be aware of what isn't. Good Food and Drinks We were tired and worn out after arriving late Friday night in Baltimore. We were staying at the Mount Vernon hotel about 2 blocks away. The person checking us in recommended O Shea's . They have the typical Irish pub and regular pub food. I drive 325 miles just to get here 3 to 5 times a year. The pub grub is fantastic, everything from the simple baguette to Irish favorites like Bangers and Mash. This is also the freshest pint of Guinness you'll find on the east coast, but if you want to get pickier they also have a rotating craft beer on tap and a fine selection of local music acts. What makes this place 5 stars is that it's home. This is the bar that knows your name. It still has a pint waiting for me 15 years after I moved away, and it doesn't care if your a lawyer or a dock worker or retired.
