Valerie is an EXCELLENT teacher-- fun, engaging, and most importantly, flexible. All three of us were at different levels and she was able to gauge our abilities and figure out common things she could teach all three of us while allowing us to pursue our own projects. It was easy to book a lesson and she was very responsive. Not only were the lessons great, the store is beautiful! There is a huge selection of yarns and even better, lots of samples to inspire. The shop is well-lit, comfortable, and roomy. I am already looking forward to our next lesson!

If ever I am in that area, you can bet I am going to visit this magnificent store!

The good: - Friendly owner and customers who were taking a class - variety of yarn qualities Not as great: - was not offered to wind the skeins of yarn so had to hand wind it - not necessarily their fault but not liking the $40+ skein of yarn I bought as it's pilling a lot (I hand wound it loosely)

The WONDERFUL PEOPLE in this store STITCHES BY THE SEA, gave my mom a business card to a yarn store 3 cities away. So very nice and thoughtful. I don't know if the stores know each other or not, the vibe they put out there made me what to do something nice for them, hence a Yelp review. This wonderful little shop is for cross-stitching and such as the like. I will be going in there one day soon bc of how kind they were to my mom. Thank you very much!

I was greeted quickly by one employee who walked away. However, another woman with short hair came up and asked if I had been in before. When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again!

They are super welcoming and nice and will help you with whatever feels foreign to you once you're in there. Such personalized attention even though they were incredibly busy. I went after I got off work, which is around 11 AM. There must've been 30 or 40 people that all came in the door separately and on their own within the first 30 minutes I was there. They were absolutely slammed, but they made time to get to know me, even though it was my very first time in there and they didn't know me and there were clearly many longtime customers there. Everyone was cheerful and upbeat, and everybody got help with their projects. It is a very well oiled machine. The selection is so much fun! The staff is friendly and helpful and makes great recommendations. I had a 30 year-old project that I hadn't touched literally in decades that I wanted to revive and they helped me through every step of the project and made me feel like it was the most amazing thing they had ever seen, even though I started it when I was in my teens and I know it isn't. I just think we are so lucky to have a business like this in Palm beach! They also do finish work, which is outstanding and I will definitely be back again soon. In fact, I already invited four friends and we're going next Wednesday and then going to lunch. What a crowning gem for us here in Palm beach!

The gal said it would not count on that days visit. I was disappointed as my total was over $250. She did not offer anymore details, and seemed put out at my request. I later found out that I COULD have saved 40% and an extra 20%. Needless to say; this led to my 1 star review. I can't say that I will never return there, but it certainly won't be my "go to" place.
