In 2007 she purchased the previous Gumbo Limbo and kept the home decor items and store name. She opened her store in 2008 and added purses and Alex and Ani jewlery. I was searching for presents for some hard to buy for friends and I made the rounds of the gift shops in historic downtown Stuart. This was the second store I visited. Gumbo Limbo bills themselves as coastal chic. Store sections are grouped by the type of event you are shopping for making it very easy to buy gifts. For example some of the sections they have are wedding, mother's day, and birthday. They also carry tropical decor, art, and jewelry. Brands they offer include Roost, Zodax, Dash & Albert, Napa Home & Garden, Vance Kitira, HomArt and Michel's Design Works. Some items they carry are specific to Stuart if you want to bring home a vacation memento. I didn't end up buying anything this trip but I had fun shopping. Customer service was excellent. I was enthusiastically greeted and then left alone to browse. The items I was drawn to were a higher ticket than I could afford to spend since I had a few people to buy for. If I was looking for just one special gift or money was no object I would definitely come back and select something. This is really beautiful store with many unique items. Right now they are selling tickets to the spring Stuart and Stroll. It is an open house walking stroll through the shops and restaurants in the historic downtown. The businesses offer drinks and snacks and there is also live music.

For every $1 you spend, you get one point. Points move you up the rank and earn you discount coupons off your purchase. According to the company, Ollie's Army get you "good stuff...even cheaper". Currently there are 408 stores in 28 states, several of which are in Florida. Ollie's purchases company liquidations, overstocks, and older items that haven't sold, and resells them in their stores for a discount. You can expect to see name brand items. Ollie's sells a little of everything, cleaning supplies, garden items, books, toys, food, health and beauty, automotive, holiday decorations, home improvements, electronics, flooring, housewares, and so much more. I had previously shopped in the West Palm Beach and Delray stores and they were great for stocking up on hurricane supplies. Ollie's always has a ton of inexpensive K-cups and cheap and unusual snacks. I usually grab some candy as incentives for the kids at school. On this trip I found the snack size bags I use to pack portion controlled snacks for my school lunches.
