Brittany was helpful in directing me to numerous BOGO free frames and cases. She even suggested several frames that were buy one - get two free. Ending up with ten frames - in various sizes - and two display cases, I found Brittany to be helpful and polite. Clean store and plenty of parking. Great shopping experience. William E. I had a very concerning experience at the Michaels in Vero Beach (6140 20th Street) on May 1, 2026…read more Several items I selected were clearly marked at lower prices on the shelves, but rang up significantly higher at checkout. On just a few items I noticed, the difference was about $21 before any discounts were applied. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, I was told to enter my phone number for a discount rather than having the pricing corrected. After reviewing my receipt, I realized that even with discounts applied, I still paid more than the shelf prices. I then spoke with the manager and offered to show her the incorrect shelf pricing. She declined and stated she was already aware the prices were wrong because they "change all the time" and the store does not have enough staff to update them. She also said correcting the transaction would cause me to lose my coupons. Customer service later offered a $10 coupon, which does not address the issue. This is concerning because customers who do not carefully review their receipts may be unknowingly overcharged. I recommend checking your receipt closely if you shop here.

I was in Florida, visiting a friend, and talked her into making the 2 hour trip to Four Purls. Walking in, I was amazed! The place really is HUGE - the largest yarn shop I'v ever been in. The owners were really nice, explaining how the store in laid out with regard to the yarn weights. I asked about Cashmere yarn; they had it. Yak yarn; they had it. Yarns from countries that I didn't know produced yarns - Japan. They have their own private label yarn as well. This is a destination store if you're anywhere in Florida. If you use yarn in any way, you will love this place. I told my friend I'll be back to visit, if only to go back to Four Purls.

Every city I go to, I have to check out the yarn store. I went to Winter Haven eight years ago, but…read moredidn't know about Four Purls back then. I had no reasons to visit Winter Haven (nothing there), but I found myself on the way from Tampa to Orlando on a Sunday so I stopped in. It's rare for a LYS to be open seven days a week - but they are so that was a definite plus. There's a decent amount of free parking on the street and in a nearby small lot. The store has a great selection, although I found it to be eaten up by a ton of Emma's yarns (local, but having one wall of it takes away from other yarns they could stock in my opinion). For example, I wish they stocked Cascade 220 since no stores nearby stock it. Although there is a yarn for everyone, and a few interesting finds (Biscotti self-striping, multicolored roving, art yarns, crochet animal kits). I met Noelle, and she was very sweet in helping me out, and showed me around the shop since it was my first time there. Overall, there's a good range of yarns organized by weight (my preferred layout for a LYS), and is definitely one of the top yarn stores I've been to in the Southeast.

Sadly, since the new ownership took over, the experience has drastically gone downhill. On their most recent visit, they were told--quite abruptly--that moving forward they would only be allowed to come in twice per piece, and that painting must be completed within six months of purchase. This was never a policy before, and the way it was communicated felt aggressive and unwelcoming. Disheartened by the interaction, they decided it would be their last time visiting Mimi's. To make matters worse, when they were called to say their pieces had finished firing, they were informed one of them had broken--without a hint of an apology. The only "resolution" offered was a gift card for the original value or nothing at all. When they went to pick up what was left of the piece, the owner was present and still didn't offer a single apology. This is not the kind of customer service or family-friendly environment we used to know and love. It's deeply disappointing to see such a treasured place become so unaccommodating and indifferent toward long-time customers. We will be taking our business--and our loyalty--to one of the many other paint-your-own studios in the area that still prioritize kindness, flexibility, and community. And when leaving a review on google to express these issues, it felt like we were responded to with a chatgpt answer, because it wasn't even being addressed to the correct person. Which felt even more impersonal.
