I'm a quilter, your fabric selection is minimal. It is hard to read the prices, clerks don't place the bolts back where they belong. Also because I'm military I could not my discount because I bought fabric by the yard. read more

I was not happy with Elizabeth working in frames. There was a lady in front of me that had a question and she answered her. Then she clearly saw me but walked away in the back and stared at me while talking to her coworkers. I just stood there patiently waiting. She then turned to where she and I were no longer in site of each other. The lady that she helped in front of me came back to the counter because she was not able to find what she was looking for. That innocent customer told me that the employee was kind of rude for not helping me after she had helped her. I agreed. We both waited for her to come back out. I got tired of waiting and walked out of line but as soon as that customer stepped up to the counter where I was she came out and helped her right away. I got back in line and just stared at her. She kept on looking at me and finally asked if I needed something while helping the other customer. As I left, I was thinking to myself, was she racist or is it just Black Friday weekend getting to her? I went back the next day to do a online pick up order. They usually have pick ups in the back, I had encounter Elizabeth again and she told me they were up front I had my 2 year old toddler with me and she rudely told my son he had to go "that way". Honestly, I'm Asian American and never felt discriminated ever in my life. I have always amazing top notch service at Michaels but not this time around. Seeing her twice in a row like that makes me to never step foot in this store ever again. On the happier note, I had Ashley assist me on my online pick up order and an exchange I had. She was super friendly and very helpful. I should have complained to management that day but I did not have a voice to do so. read more

Not a fan of Michaels at this moment. I ordered a set of markers online yesterday and opted to take advantage of their new curbside pickup service. I was notified this morning that my one item was ready for pickup, and I went this afternoon to pick it up. I followed the online prompts to notify them I was On My Way and again with I'm Here. They also request you call when you arrive, which I did. I was the only vehicle in the curbside pickup spaces. After waiting in the 90 degree heat for 25 minutes, I called again. The individual answering the phone didn't know who I was (only person waiting for curbside pickup) so I went in. I didn't have to wait in line to speak to a cashier. She could not find my order (out of the 9 small bags on the designated shelves), informed me they had been super busy with orders (I was the only one there, there were not a lot of packages in the shelves awaiting pickup) and offered to go pull the item for me. I opted to return the item because of sheer frustration and not wanting to waste any more time. SO, if you're looking to help out your local community by buying local, avoid public areas and save time by utilizing curbside pickup, Michaels is NOT your place to go. They did refund my money, so there is that.... read more

I was extremely disappointed today. I was happy to receive a 50% off coupon from a regular price item. I have been waiting for it for some time to buy a big roll of yarn to make a baby blanket. But all of the big yarns were put on some sad $1-$2 off sale so I could not use the coupon. No yarn. That was a waste of my time read more

They had what I was looking for - several options actually. However, the store blocks iPhone access to the internet so I could not get to my email or their website to get my discount. The cashier asked if I joined the stores wifi which I shouldn't HAVE to do since who knows what data they'd collect from my device. As soon as I walked outside, voila, it all started working again. My daughter had an architect hand draw an 11x14 sketch of our home. My husband built it himself and this was to be a special gift for his birthday. I took it to Michaels in Shiloh, IL custom framing. It seemed like a very simple job. I didn't even want a matte. Just put it in a simple frame. Try #1: They were supposed to put the artwork in the frame leaving about 1/4 inch of the cream colored edge showing around the picture. This failed. They framed it covering up all the edge and also part of the sketch. I went for the second time today to pick up the picture again to find that now someone had taken scissors and unevenly chopped off the whole edge all the way around the artwork. I was in shock. Why would anyone cut part of a drawing off without consulting me????? It is beyond repair. It looks Terrible and it is one of a kind. I can't just go get another copy of it again. It's not even cut evenly. Looks like a two year old cut it. They said they would try to add a matte around it now and cover up all the chopped up edge. She even offered to do this for free. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? You would think of actually charging someone?? Even if you can make it look somewhat nice at this point I should not have to pay a dime for any of it since they chopped off my artwork. They never even said they were sorry!!!!! I would not trust them with anything again, unless it is a cheap poster that you can replace. read more

I used to love michaels! They had a friendly staff the first few years I would shop at their business. Over the last year their staff has become INCREDIBLY rude and inconsiderate. There's been a lot of new faces since Christmas 2018, and every single one of them is unpleasant. There's a red head that works there with glasses and longer hair. I think she might even be a manager, but stay far far away from her. She's mean, rude, and unhelpful as hell. This place is terrible. I don't care if their cheap, but don't be cheap and NASTY. read more

Michael's is the store for the crafty people. It makes you just want to be crafty. I don't have a crafty bone in my body but from the help of a few friends and the employees at this store I threw an awesome little shindig with cake pops, turtle chocolate pops and a S'mores bar for my daughter's first birthday. I've also assisted in making her 1 1/2 birthday cake too. They have anything you can imagine. So go on pinterest and figure out what you want to make and stop by this store and make it a reality. read more

I wouldn't necessarily call myself crafty, but I do find myself here every now and again. They boast a little bit of everything for nearly every craft I can think of. Candle wicks were the reason for my most recent visit. I guess they're not as commonly found as I previously thought (can't find them at Walmart). They had several varieties at a reasonable price. The employee that helped me was quite friendly and knowledgeable. They had a very efficient check out line as well. read more

I went into Michaels tonight because I received a coupon in the mail and in my email as well. I had not been in the store for awhile and got excited when I saw the super cute Halloween decorations. I browsed for a bit and picked up a few and went to the scrapbooks. This is the real reason I came in. I needed eight scrapbooks for a team I coach. I found one I really liked, but they only had four. I walked up to a sales associate at the register named Holley. I asked if they had any more or if they could get more. She scanned it, said they were getting three more. I asked if I could pay for them now and pick them up or if she could hold them. No. Just no. I then asked for a suggestion and she told me to get the number on the back and call other stores myself. Rude. Simply rude. I wanted to put them all back and leave. They were on sale so I bought the four and found the same thing on Amazon and ordered them right there at the register. Sad, but true. I brought up two kinds of pages and asked her what kind fit in the scrapbook. "I don't know." Again, didn't go out of her way to get me an answer and again was RUDE. Oh, and by the way, couldn't use any of the coupons. I need to no longer ask myself why Amazon is taking over. It's beyond horrible customer service like this. I will never be back.
