I love Michaels. The selection is great, the staff is usually helpful. Last year for Christmas my husband bought me a new Cricut machine. They give you an awesome coupon book that lasts the entire year if you buy your Cricut from them. I used all but 2 of the coupons in the book and hated to see the last one go. I will say that coupon book makes buying your machine at Michael's vs another retailer worth it. Their vinyl selection is pretty good most if the time, and sometimes you can use a coupon. I would like to see a better selection of blades and tools.

Unfortunately I was not impressed at my visit today. Not sure if they are sold out but I couldn't find anything decorative for Christmas. Typically I come in and I always find a lot of ornaments or sticks that I could add to my tree but I didn't find anything this time around. I usually go to a different location for my Christmas decorations so I'm not sure if this location just usually doesn't have a good variety or if it's just a coincidence and they are sold out this time. But if you are coming here for holiday decor you may want to pass right now.

My super duper no effort spring decor for our bedroom.

I could spend all day there and spend a ton of money! I was there yesterday to get some gerber daisies to make a wreath I saw on Pinterest. Wish I had more time to craft! I love that they always have stuff on sale and coupons. You never have to pay full price for anything between coupons and patience. They have super cute seasonal decor and anything you would need for kids school projects. Customer service is a bit touch and go. I think they have been in business long enough to know when they need more staff, but since that's probably the weekends, I can see it being hard to get weekends only staff. It's not bad enough to keep from shop there! I Michael's !

I visited this location with Yelper Laurie H., for 2 hours ! Yes time flies when you shop till ya drop or better still shop for bargains! Our mission was colorful items to make those winter blues gone and turn into Smiles of Sunshine with Spring Decor. I purchased several items for the inside and outside of My Home in Macomb. :-) This Hobby Lobby is now My favorite "Home " store compared to the other Three (3) stores that I have previously shopped at with their clutter, broken items, disorganized and lack of inventory inside. Check out a Hobby Lobby store near you and decide. Walking in this Hobby Lobby we were greeted by an employee in a Blue Vest and also after checking out a thank you for shopping too. From home décor to seasonal pieces, everything is so vibrant and inspiring. You can truly find whatever you can imagine. I recently attended a cowboy-themed birthday party, and Hobby Lobby had everything we needed to pull it together--and at such great prices! It made decorating so easy and fun. I also love coming here for yarn. I buy skeins to make chunky blankets and cozy sweaters, and they always have a great selection. The best part is catching their sales--you really can't beat the deals. On top of that, the store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Overall, it's one of my favorite go-to stores for both crafts and home décor!

This past Thursday I was having a rough day, but decided an outing might help. It took me all day but I gathered my strength and headed to the yarn shop in Waterloo. As always I had Erie with me and when I got to the shop there was a note in the window saying there is a dog in the shop. When I headed in the lady saw my dog and took hers to the back saying it gets along with people but not with other dogs. The other dog was barking and whining but there was really nothing I could do about that so we continued on. Maybe the lady thought I was taking too long or I wasn't going to buy anything and was just trying to get out of the rain, I don't know. But she came around the corner and said, "your dog is upsetting my dog and I'm busy and have things to do, so can you tie your dog up outside please?" I explained that she is my service dog and she has to stay with me, at which point she said, "well then you will have to leave!" I could have argued with her. I could've told her it was like asking someone to leave because their wheelchair was taking up too much space or telling someone with oxygen that they couldn't come in because there were lit candles. My dog is my medical equipment just like a wheelchair or oxygen. But I didn't. I just left. It had taken all of my energy and strength to get there I didn't have any left to argue. By the time I made it across the street to a little mall I was shaking and sobbing uncontrollably. I hadn't done anything wrong and neither had my dog but she told us to leave! I want to be like everyone else and do the same things in the same manner but I can't. Situations like these make a bad day worse and show the ignorance of others. As always we will continue to be positive and carry on without letting this bother us. For other handlers, please know we understand and experience the same. For others, please remember you don't know what people are going through. Please be respectful. #servicedog #doberman #medicalalertdog

I found Michigan Fine Yarns when looking for a place to supplement the soon to be closed Joann's. Someone recommended this on an online knitting forum and I took a risk. They have a very easy to navigate website with a ton of offerings in any color, thickness, weight, and material you could image. The only downside to being an online customer is that we cannot feel the yarn. However, I received a call once when purchasing the pink yarn where they inquired as to what I was making because there were two lots with different dyes used so there was a slight color difference. I was taken aback by how thorough their customer service was and how thoughtful that interaction was! I've attached photos of some projects that I have completed (I'm new to knitting so any mistakes are truly my own and not due to the yarn). I will continue to purchase from Michigan Fine Yarns as they have a range of yarns that can fit any budget. I like to work with the 100% Peruvian wool from Cascade yarns the most and my local yarn stores don't have them in the quantity that I need. The chalkboard by the door made me laugh out loud (do take the time to walk up and read it for yourself). My first experience at Stitch in Time began with these positive postings outside, and I had been hopeful about this local-enough-to-me shop (I live in Brighton) after having learned that it has been in business 27 years and that the owner, Charlene Hatfield, is a certified instructor with the Yarn Council of America. Wow. And wowed I was upon entering. Among the first items I spied were my favorite brands of needles, then some beautiful yarn, and more beautiful yarn. Then Charlene popped around the corner - it was a Wednesday, and she was at the table with those gathered for open knitting each week, available from 10 AM until 6 PM. I was given a verbal guide to the store, invited to open cupboards and doors to look and touch anything, and had some of the specialty yarns highlighted - some from Dublin, Stitch in Time's own line, and others from indie dyers from the US. The armoire stocked with Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift has to be seven feet tall, six feet wide, and stocked with more colors than I have seen anywhere I have looked (as I haven't yet been to Scotland)! I have found *my* LYS here in Michigan! The feeling of warmth and welcome exuded by each person I met, the caliber of Charlene's knitting knowledge and ability to elevate my skills, and the inspiration that adorns the walls, tops of cabinets, and shelves all combine to make *this* the Gold Standard shop in The Mitten!
