This store looks like it has a ton of inventory but the way they handle selling and trading is…read morehonestly unbelievable. They do not check TCG values or real market prices. It is literally here is a binder how much. Then they take every single card out so you stand there putting everything back like you are the problem. They offered me one dollar for full arts. I had about one hundred forty of them. I asked for one fifty which was more than fair since two of the cards alone were worth over one hundred twenty. The response I got was just why. They also own the shop in Clawson which somehow has even less inventory and even worse customer service. I watched a customer bring in a binder with vintage cards and other great stuff. The owner offered fifty dollars. It was a joke. I said I would at least look at it and he told me not in his store. I said fine I can look outside. He said no again. When I said that I just do not want to see them rip off nice people the way they tried to rip me off at the other shop he told me to get out and took back the one hundred fifty plus cards I was about to buy. If you go here only buy sealed and do not let them hassle you. They know when someone is strapped and they try to take advantage. I would never come back after how I was treated. If anyone else has had a similar experience please share it so people know what to expect before they walk in.

My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was some sort of tournament happening at the tables that was timed with multiple rounds. These tables take up about half of the shop, so it was very impressive to see and all very organized! The rest of the shop has a ton of card/board games in one corner, a long display case filled with collectible cards of all kinds (namely, Pokemon cards is what my friends were here for), a corner for DND books, dice, etc., and then a few end cap style shelves with other game and fandom accessories. There's something for everyone here and it was all super lovely! The pricing here is perhaps $1-2 more expensive than a few card shops more local to us, but they had a really lovely and extensive collection, some cards which we had never seen before either, so it was worth it! If you're ever out in the Chesterfield area, make sure to check out Eternal Games!

My husband and I saw this store when we were walking into CVS. We decided to walk in, and I am…read moresuper happy that we did. This place was filled with super unique games. We met some people that were really into D+D. They told us the different guides we can use and videos we can watch to learn how to play. They also told us to check out the event calendar to see dates when others play. When we walked over to the calendar, we saw the tables and game board on a shelf. I talked to an employee and she was super nice. We found out that you can bring food and drinks in ( be very careful though). You can bring in your own games or xards. You can also grab one on the shelf and play with it. She actually showed us a demo of how to play one. We had a lot of fun. We were told that there is a game night on Tuesdays. Most people met each other here, and they come to play every week. We would love to come back with some of my siblings to eat and then play a few new games. If you have questions about any games, the staff are always very helpful. We will be back in very soon!

The store is small, but it is PACKED with games, cards and some old toys from the 80's on. It becomes a journey looking through the treasure trove of old and new items. For the newer items they are sold at or near major retail price. I have been in other smaller stores and they have to increase the prices heavily to make up for the obscene property taxes. I was happy to see the older things weren't ridiculously priced either. I left with two boxes of Pokemon cards, a set of original Spider-Man movie cards, a board game, a dragon pin, and a random Dungeons and Dragons themed bag that when I opened it, it contained a yellow and red bag, rainbow dice and a coin for Inspiration. It couldn't have summed up my trip more. :)

Oh Funky Town Toys. I've been a patron of this awesome store for a few years now. I first went into…read moretheir location on Hayes and Hall Rd. (they have moved since then) to snag some free comic books on Free Comic Book Day. I've been coming back ever since! My son loves to collect Star Wars action figures. I am also a child, so I love to browse and buy the occasional trinket or toy. The old location was a little small and tucked away in a relatively crowded strip mall on the bustling intersection of Hall Rd and Hayes. The drive there was frustrating enough to limit my appearances there. They have since moved to a new location...terrifyingly close by. Now it's super convenient to visit the new store. The strip mall they moved to is much less busy and the location is way easier to spot from Van Dyke. The interior of the store is jam packed with lots of collectibles. They have a variety of wrestling, GI Joe, Star Wars and Funko Pops to name a few things. There's so much more there too (like superhero themed comic books). With as much stuff as Funky Town Toys has, the inside of the store is quite clean and spacious. It's always a pleasure to walk around and look at all of the potential money I can spend on stuff! If you're into old and new action figures and collectibles, you should take a stroll into Funky Town Toys. There's lots to choose from...and if you're looking for something in particular...just ask and they will talk with you...and maybe they can find something for you. Seriously...I love this place. They always have a huge selection and the staff are incredibly nice. They also know a ton about collectibles. There's a parking lot right out in front of the store, but if it's full, there's a small public parking lot right around the corner! I did the ground work for you...now you have no other excuses. Go check them out. Thanks! Brian S.
