Love this place! Huge store with tons of stock -- cars, boats, bikes, planes, etc -- and 2 indoor tracks to play on. Larry's RC is a fantastic local hobby store. My son and I roamed the store last year with some dreams of getting into the hobby. This pandemic has offered us the opportunity to spend a lot of time together, so we decided to return to Larry's RC to finally make an investment. The store's stock has been rather low as many other people in the area have had the same thoughts during the pandemic. We were lucky enough to snag a Traxxas Slash Ultimate 4x4...their last one. I really enjoyed my experience while making my first RC purchase. The staff at Larry's RC wore masks and kept their distance. I felt as though I was in a safe atmosphere. I received all of the information I needed with regard to the model I purchased as well as got the tour of their extensive parts selection. This is one of the best shop in Michigan. They have a great selection of cars, boats,drones and helicopters for all skill level. I had no idea what I was getting but I was advised well by the person at the counter. You can get spare parts as well as custom parts to build your own machine. They finally opened up their indoor rc track which is amazing. $3 gets you running all day. Even if you don't have your own track worthy car go check this place out. read more

This place is the best! I have zero experience with R/C anything and my wife bought me a 1/10th scale rc car. Not knowing it comes in pieces in the box and must be assembled before you can play with it. So I called Larry's and the staff was very informative and patient with someone like me who asks "what is that?" to pretty much everything they said. They were able to get the car built for me and did it in little time. Proposed a week for completion and called two days later for pickup. Wow I'm impressed! I had an issue with steering and they were able to correct it for me in minutes. I can't say enough about this places superb customer care and service. I've been coming to Larry's for years. I vary between 3-5 stars in my rating, they loose some on consistency of service, and gain some on the fact there's nothing else like it on this side of town. The two tracks with are maintained well and routinely updated in their layout are awesome. Beverages in the vending machine, bathrooms kept clean. Good organized racing, nice hours, and a massive selection of all RCs from surface, to air. Sometimes when busy you'll have trouble getting someone to say 'can I help you' but they've gotten better with that. Don't be afraid to strike up a convo, the works are hobbyists and enthusiasts as well, just speak whats on your brain like I do. Make it a conversation between friends, not a Q&A and you'll come to love Larry's. In summer i try to visit a few times a week, and i've bought quite a few things. I've also put some of my cars on consignment for sale, which is great if you don't like doing the legwork on craigslist or shipping via online sale. read more

My son (9) and I both got R/C cars from Larry's for Christmas. If you are racing and having fun with these cars to their full potential there are inevitably crashes and broken parts. With little knowledge on how to do our repairs Larry's is always helpful providing guidance on what I need to do and having the parts in stock to do it. Yesterday it was a man named Topher. Topher was outstandingly patient, friendly, and insightful in helping me fix my car. In fact, he did most of the work all while teaching us about aligning the servo and calibrating steering on my car. What a nice guy who really seemed to enjoy what he was doing. These are the things that will keep us coming in despite living 30 minutes away. Great place with outstanding customer service! read more

I have always went to Larry's... The staff is knowledgable. But then I met the owner.. Larry.. Informally. I was getting help by a new staff member on parts I needed, this man, I found out later to be Larry, kept yelling at this employee because he was not answering the phones. He did this multiple times... Hello Larry... He was helping someone who spends $$$ in your store. I then was ready to make my purchase and Larry was the person helping me pay for my order. He did not even look at me, was not friendly, and proceeded to carry on his conversations with someone else, like he was inconvenienced to take my money... Will not go back to Larry's... His loss.. I have bought several cars and many parts there.... Hey Larry, quit being such a jerk! read more

I really enjoy coming here even though it's a 40min drive for me.. I'm a diehard large scale Rc fan so it's nice that there's a shop within a reasonable distance that carries large scale parts and accessories. Corey is the man and has always been able to help out with what I need. Really beats having to order online and wait for shipping!!! read more

As far as the RC hobby goes there is no competition to Larry's in the area. With a facility large enough to encompass a sales floor with tonnage to look at, service, parts and 3 indoor tracks, Larry's puts the rest to shame. read more

The jury is still out of this place for me so I'm going to keep it at 3 stars for now. I got bit by the RC bug again after a 10 year hiatus. The technology has changed a lot in the last couple years so I headed to Larry's for an education. I found it though to get service there. The place is hopping on the weekends and sales people are in no hurry to check on wandering customers. I had no better luck waiting at the counter either so I ended up just checking out the races and leaving without picking up a battery I had intended to buy for my helicopter. On a previous visit I took my 5 year old to watch the races. We spotted a cool slot car track and asked if we could play for a few minutes. I was told I had to purchase my own car @ $42 to play. However, later I find a post on Larry's Facebook page saying that cars were available for rent. So I thought that was a little tacky. In summary, Larry's has a ton of merchandise, great prices, and great tracks, but so far the customer services is lacking. I'll definitely be back, and I may even buy my new car there because of the prices but I truly hope the service there gets better. read more

I have been going there for over two years and have spent over a 1000 dollars there. Prices are competitive with online. The track is great and cheap to run at. Sales staff friendly. Sometimes its difficult to get help when they are busy, esp in the winter. Great to take the kids too. Leave the wife home :) read more

bought a red cat 1/5 truck when i bought it they said they have great costomer service and if something breaks they will fix under warranty truck broke 2 times in one gas tank run the break in or i should say the breaking of called larrys there responce was bring it in we can fix it for a charge or i can send send it to redcat,(they want me to pay for shipping back and forth) not even i hour of play the car is a dust coloctor on my shelf waiting for the great warranty dep. at red cat to get back with me once a week saying there parts are backordered but i can buy upgraded stuff if i want so my $600 toy i bought from larrys they want me to pay another $100 to get it back on the road plus ship the old parts at my cost back to them. truck has been sitting for 5 weeks still waiting for my parts under warranty let me also say the only part that shouldnt of even thought of comming off was the locking nut on the gear for the transmission there ready to run gas trucks they shoud sell as ready to put back together after 1 use trucks all they want is the money no refunds i read more
