Walking in to Nerdtopia I instantly had a Geekgasm.
I recently got back in to playing Magic the Gathering after almost 20 years because a bunch of guys in my office play during lunch. I had some cards and a few decks already built, but nothing special. One guy has this killer "Maze's End" deck that no one has been able to beat so my main focus going in this past weekend was to get some advice on how to counter it as well as some help building a deck that would stand a chance.
Josh was super helpful and you could tell he had just as much fun as I was having putting together these cards. It was almost as if he had this sinister giddy look on his face thinking of all the ways to leave my buddy silently sobbing at his desk the rest of the day. At that very moment I knew I had found my new home away from home.
And what was the final verdict of our battle the following day at lunch? I dominated the Dojo and took him out without losing a single life point. It was in the words of Booby Roode... GLORIOUS!!!!!!
I highly recommend this place even if MTG isn't your thing. They have a ton of old video games and systems too that might tickle your fancy. In fact, I very well might pick up the Dreamcast they have sitting on the shelf behind the counter. Just don't tell my wife. She will most likely yell at me for wasting money on another video game system. Oh sure! You can buy another fancy designer purse, but I can't get a Dreamcast? How's that fair?
Whoops! Sorry about that.
Anyways, go here, geek out, have fun, repeat. read more
