This is a fun shop, crammed floor to ceiling with comics and other pop culture merchandise, like Funko Pop. I had never ventured in here before but I know it's been around a while (I moved to Clawson in 2016, about 8 years ago now, and it's been around most if not all of that time). Yesterday I was waiting for takeout from Noori so I stopped by. I'm not a huge fan/reader of comic books but I love pop culture and movies. I ended up buying a large Totoro movie poster for my fiance - all of their posters are only $11.99, which I thought was a good price. They also have manga and other types of books here. I had a good experience here. I took my 4 your old for his first trip to a comic book store and had a good time. They have a small but nice kids section that he was able to look at along with other things such as action figures that he was interested in. There selection seemed to be OK if not on the slightly slim side. I did find a book I was looking for, so that was good. It defiantly has a good vibe and the person working the store was very nice. I for sure will be back at some point, I know my son keeps asking to go back and get more Sonic Comics. read more

Great comic shop. Good selection of new titles and an ample selection of back issues. Decent gaming section with cards and RPGs, and also deal in used games. The staff is friendly and hhelpful, as well as the shop being clean and tidy. I was looking for an obscure title, and the took the time to track it down, and now special order an copy each month for me. Love this place, have become a regular. Used to collect comics when I was a kid, and now I have gotten my son hooked. Highly recommend joining the club, for the small price you get your comics held as well as great discounts throughout the store. The entire staff is just awesome! Warp 9 was the best speed that the Enterprise could go, and this is probably the best nerd-shop you can go. I visited this place to find a fun gift for my Star Trek loving uncle. I managed to find a two-pack Kirk and Irradiated Spock from Star Trek II. Awesome. Unlike most comic shops, I felt very comfortable in this one. I was not followed by the salespeople making sure I'm not stealing anything, and I was not berated by the fact I don't know how to play Magic the Gathering. They have a very large selection of toys, ranging from the usual (Star Wars) to the WTF (life size puppet from that one episode of Angel). I'm not into comics themselves, so I can't comment on the range or price of them, but they seemed to have a decent amount. The staff was courteous and they were playing some cool tunes on the radio. They don't sell used video games, so my search for Mario Tennis for Nintendo 64 will continue. Prices were on the lower end of collectable. The Kirk/Spock set was about $30. Not bad for something eBay would have for $60. read more

Went to a comic convention and had a list of items to get. Didn't get them all so looked for a local comic shop in the area and found Warp 9. Couldn't find exactly what I wanted so I asked and the employee working helped me search and even went in the back and ended up finding exactly what I needed. I went to 2 or 3 other shops before too. Decent prices and all. Great comic nerd conversation as well. Lol You can't beat that. Also, they have the coolest toys. Stuff I have only seen there. Great shop. Very clean as well. Exactly what you want in a comic shop. Great selection of new and old books, trades, action figures, funkos, statues, you name it. Pretty nice back wall to look at also, some nice keys and grails there. And the people working are super friendly and fun to talk to. Awesome shop. The owner Trey is excellent and so are his staff members. If you don't know which comics to read, just tell them you're new and they'll give you great suggestions based on things you like or are interested in. Become a member and get awesome deals on comics, trades, etc. Also, if you're bored on a holiday, be sure to call them because they often open the store for a few hours with pretty great holiday sale prices. I've been coming here on and off for over 20 years. The staff is always very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. The store is very clean and has a lot inventory. I have taken my niece and nephew here recently to get Pokemon cards and the employee let them have free Pokemon posters. read more

Cool shop. Very much a dedicated comic book + memorabilia store - not at all a gaming store, really. Staff is friendly, parking is easy, the place is cool. Lots of comics and figurines, some cool shirts and stuff. There are some very interesting busts and such of heroes/villains for sale. Very small selection of Magic the Gathering cards and dice; if these are what you are looking for I would go elsewhere. Rather disorganized, but slightly charming because of it. Not as charming as Red Dragon (wink). Come here if you're looking for comics or cool stuff for your desk at work. read more

I went in today looking for a graphic novel as a gift and had no idea what to get. One of the workers (I wish I had got his name) was extremely helpful. I told him about the giftee and her interests and he picked out a few that he thought she might enjoy. He even went above and beyond and wrote down some more titles to suggest to her. He did this knowing that I was mailing this out of state and she obviously wouldn't be shopping there for anything. Great customer service! This one is a bit hard to review, but I gotta say, I really like the staff. I came here with my friend to buy a figurine and the clerk actually went out of her way to call her boss to see if I could get a cheaper price the what was labeled on the package. Granted, we had asked her if that was possible, but I was pleasantly surprised that actually worked. Good comic book and toys selection. But lacked any board games =/ read more

This store is a bit of a headache to walk into. It's like an antique shop. Usually every surface is covered in merchandise and it takes a lot of energy to take it all in. The place has mounds of figurines everywhere. It gets snug if there are too many people in the store. I went in looking for polyhedral dice and picked through their (very) limited stock. I didn't find what I needed, but I did look around. There are some very expensive, albeit nice collectables all over. What I did end up enjoying was the comic stock. I got a ton of Adventure Time comics for 25% off (+1 Before Watchmen). It was pricey, but a good haul, overall. I think it'll be a while before I stop in again. read more

No one, not even Robert De Niro, can mess with a comic shop named Warp 9! Though small, they've got quite a bit packed in here: books, trade paperbacks, cards (for all the Magic/Pokemon/Yu Gi Oh etc crowd), and some action figures. Note: Warp 9 does not have an overly large back-issue selection. If you're looking for some first edition Sandman material, you may be better off hitting the flea markets. However, if you're looking to grab some newer stuff, large or small press, they're great for this. And I still can't get over the fact that Star Trek dorks run this place! read more

This seems to be exclusively comic/figurine store. I was quite confused to find out that this store carrying the name "warp 9" has very little Star Trek merchandise (but legends say that it used to) I couldn't satisfy any other of my interests there either: No (or at least little) MTG or role-playing stuff. Otherwise staff is polite and I'll always support geeky establishments. If you're a comic book fan, check this place out. read more

I've been here many times and I'm not really a fan. The place is usually a mess. It's very chaotically disorganized, which can make it uncomfortable for more than a few people to be in there at a time. I always feel like I'm interrupting or intruding on someone's conversation, which they're usually in the middle of with someone else there. Their prices are, well, pricey. And the only good thing is that they have an eclectic selection for some rare finds. Much better stores out there, I'm not sure how they stay open. read more

I've been going to this place for many years and I always get the same thing when I walk in: friendly, personable service. The store is well organized and clean. I even moved away and can only come every few months, but whenever I come I was told "once a member, always a member". I wish more comic shops were like this. Love this place! read more

I called ahead to ask if there was an issue of Warframe #1 I could have held for me and they said yes even though they normally do not do such a thing for non members iirc. They allowed me to get 2 copies which I was happy for and while I was there I got a Jace Belerin Planeswalker for my deck and they tossed in a free promo pack I think it was? One of those introductory MTG boosts ig. I also found a hard to find Funko for someone for Christmas and a book I was wanting for a long time. Great employees, great store. Now I usually place some criticism down on improvement but theres not really anything to improve. They work with what they have, and they're Gods at what they do. A great place for comics, cards and collectibles. If they don't have it they'll order it for you. The store owner, employees and regular customers are a blast to hang out and chat with. I can't remember life without Warp 9. It has been the provider of geekdom for most of my life. Depending on who you get, the staff is mostly friendly but more opinionated than "knowledgeable." Stick with Kevin and he'll always take care of you. You will, however, have the most current selection of toys, comics and books. It may not look terribly organized, but trust me, that stuff is regularly rotated by regulars if not staff. (It's not regular to use regular in the same sentence twice). No dust here. If you're looking for rare back issues, you'll have to search someplace else. read more

The only reason I go to this location is due to proximity. Not a fan of this location at all. The store does have a pretty good selection of stuff. Figures, Statues, new and old comics, clothes, etc. That being said once you get past the product inventory that's where things get negative. The store itself is very cramped. Not much walking around room. The old comics are thrown haphazardly in some sketchy looking long boxes without any real sense of order. My main gripe with the store is the owner. The staff is fine, but the owner is an asshole. I heard him boasting about how he bought an older issue of Fantastic Four with some pretty noticeable damage and flipped it for an embarrassing profit. I called him out and said, "how do you sleep at night" and he (really I felt bad for him with how pathetic it was) responds with "ON MY BIG OL PILE OF MONAY". I just shook my head, put the comics I was going to buy away and left. Can't recommend to anyone unfortunately knowing the owner is like that. read more

i thank god every day this place exists. i get weary of indie stores like this because they seem to get closed down so quickly. i hope this place is around forever. they have a great collection of everything, their prices are much better than book stores or other shops with similar products. the employees are for the most part, very nice. they have the best variety of any other place in the metro (other comic stores only carry certain kinds of comics, but warp 9 has it all). there was a set of comics i REALLY wanted. i noticed no one was reading them or wanting to buy them for years. (years!) they were priced at 7.99 apiece. i wanted to collect all of them, there were about 6 here so i'd end up paying around $50 for the set. i asked the employee at the desk if there was anything i could work out if i were to buy the whole set at once. she made a few calls, on the phone she said "this is one of our best customers, and they always buy something when they come in. these books have been sitting on the shelf no less than 10 years, i'd just give it to them if i were you." ended up only paying $4 for each and walking out with the whole set for $34. read more

A bit on the pricey side for me and it had that eerie feeling, as if I better not make to much noise. The woman at the counter was not to welcoming, more like a sentinel just munching on strawberry's. It definitely had some really cool stuff,lots of comics and some great figures if your a collector. Being a long time "Nerd" (said with respect because Nerds rule the world) this place was heaven. Visiting from Texas, I walked around in awe and spent more money than I should have, "Danger, Will Robinson" you will want to spend time and money here! They had comics, cards, figures, posters, even a local artist who takes requests and did a great Wonder Woman for me!! My teenage son found stuff he could not live without and his girlfriend did not leave empty handed either! This a a great place! Wish I lived closer! Meh... Not the worst comic store I've been to. Some times the staff is helpful and friendly and sometimes they don't care that your in their store. They have a good selection of comics, and action figures [which a lot of other stores don't have]. Do not buy Magic the Gathering cards there. They are not a card shop, they use an outside magic seller and his prices are way to high, plus the selection of cards is pretty bad. i stop by this store every now and then but it's not that i will go out of my way to get to. read more

I've had a pull list at Warp 9 for about 4 years. It's always been a great shop and it has gotten even better since being taken over by new management in Sept 2014. The layout of the shop is much more open and doesn't feel as crowed. The new owner and staff are friend and seem very community-minded, which makes for a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for everybody, from casual readers to hardcore collectors. I'll keep my pull list here for as long as I live in Metro Detroit. read more

I have been going to Warp 9 off and on for several years and not much set it apart from other local comic shops. The service was average. Not overly personable. Until recently. They hired a friendly shop girl named Kat and that made all the difference. I used to work in retail and one thing I picked up from that was friendly service brings customers back.
