Hobby Lobby never disappoints! Their Easter and spring decorations are absolutely beautiful--no matter what you're looking for, they have it. From home décor to seasonal pieces, everything is so vibrant and inspiring. You can truly find whatever you can imagine. I recently attended a cowboy-themed birthday party, and Hobby Lobby had everything we needed to pull it together--and at such great prices! It made decorating so easy and fun. I also love coming here for yarn. I buy skeins to make chunky blankets and cozy sweaters, and they always have a great selection. The best part is catching their sales--you really can't beat the deals. On top of that, the store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I like to dress up my gift wrapping ideas so this store is a wonderful artsy outlet for me. Every year I get a big watermelon for my niece on her birthday; she loves watermelon. I get all kinds of ideas as to how to dress my watermelon by visiting Hobby Lobby. I also enjoy making jewelry and they have a very large selection of beads, strings, findings, everything you need to make necklaces, earrings, etc. They have a very nice selection of t-shirts that you can wear as is or can add patches, etc. There are cards, boxes, wrapping paper, sewing, markers, artificial flowers, you name it, they have it. They have 2 wheelchairs up front but you will need someone to push you; sorry no electric chairs. The lines can be long at times and they could use a bit tidying up here and there but the people are great and I enjoy listening to the soothing, inspirational music that they play in-store. I am very upset that the city of Sterling Heights decided to put up an oversized apartment complex smack dab in the middle of a parking lot. This obtuse mess blocks the view of Hobby Lobby from Schoenherr. read more

I love Hobby Lobby and I go often, but this one has the saddest/rudest people. I am never welcomed when I come. I have been run over twice by an older gentleman pushing a cart. (He never apologizes) and when I ask for help, they act like I am a bother to them. They never smile. In contrast, the Hobby Lobby in the Macomb Mall has happy, smiling employees who joke with me at the register and ask if I need help. It is farther from me, but I often go there just because of the employees. The manager at this Hobby Lobby needs to have a training in how to treat customers. read more

For custom framing -- Just go to Micheal's it's right across the street and SO much better! Seriously the team at hobby lobby was incredibly rude to me, they didn't have my frame ready by the due date and i kept calling trying to go in to pick it up. They never even notified me if was ready. When I finally got I was there for over an hour waiting for them to put the photo together and turns out the dimensions were wrong. I've never experienced such poor customer service. Left upset and went across the street to Micheal's and they were wonderful. Not worth your time of money!! read more

This store has a little bit of everything. From seasonal decor, floral, wall decor, crafts, fabrics, small furniture pieces, wedding supplies, party supplies, table decor and more.... They do a great job of merchandising and keeping things in order. It's pretty much a one stop shopping experience because they seem to have a little bit of everything for your home. The customer service associates were aplenty which was nice to see. The checkout process went smoothly. When we walked up to the checkouts, they were pretty busy, but backup was called to get the lines down and we were out of there in no time. I was happy to see the quick reaction to the growing lines. I've been in retail and worked at one of their competitors up the road, so there are many things I notice as I'm shopping and they do a great job all the way around including being well staffed. The employees look like they're enjoying their jobs, aren't in a hurry and are willing to help you if needed. Their operating hours are perfect as far as what time they open and close and it's also nice to see they're closed on Sundays. This is indeed a bonus for their dedicated employees and I'm happy to see a company give their employees Sunday's off and closing times of 8:00. They have weekly coupons in the paper, online and in their app, so make sure you take advantage of them for savings off regular priced merchandise. Besides the coupons, they also have sales, which are always good perks to keep you returning. All in all a very nice store with a steady flow of customers. read more

To start, I have been here way too many times because they have just all sorts of everything and nothing that I need and am obsessed with. From my future baby's room decor to my current living room to my hopes of one day being crafty... everything! However, this review is purely about my experience today. So sad. I genuinely was frustrated about the lack of masks and caution people took. Although there is an executive order to wear a mask, I kid you not - there were three customers without any mask at all, four workers not properly wearing their mask (just wearing it below their nose), and one worker who pulled it down to talk to another worker. To add, everyone was bumping into everyone and not much social distancing going on. Ugh. Probably won't be back for a while just due to my paranoia of coronavirus. read more

Just about everyone anal flocks to this location. This is a great place for many holiday items, home items, and other craft needs. I bought quite a few items from here when I was designing my sons bedroom. He had a music theme and they had quite a few contemporary items I was able to include in his bedroom. I purchased a few items to decorate our theater from here also. However, most of their items for theater where more retro looking than contemporary so I couldn't get too much. But for anyone going for that retro look they have a great selection! Definitely a great store to go to if you are looking for themed items. read more

I wish Hobby Lobby was closer to my home because it is an awesome place! I come to Hobby Lobby for holiday decorations and home items. There are craft materials like a Michael's but these are pushed to the back of the store so I usually forget they sell them. They also sell fabric which looks like they have a ton of options. The store has a lot of artificial flowers/plants to use for arrangements - I would say their selection is better than Michael's and a bit more organized. Lots of Christian items, crosses and prayers on decorative home decor. Their holiday decorations are usually on sale to some extent even with the holiday decor that is in season. Cute stuff for nursery rooms or really any room for your home! read more

I run an estate sale company, so when I see cheaply made furniture and rows and rows and rows (YAWWWNNN) of words painted on canvas passed off as "art" my little nose turns straight up into the air... I'm not much of a crafter so I can't price compare...and going up and down the aisles did get my creative juices flowing.... So...SENSORY OVERLOAD!! Believe it or not this was my 1st time in a Hobby Lobby! Like for real!!! The store had major sale going on and most everything was on sale!! My appetite for crafts and creativity was first tapped as a youngster so I've a lot of outlets!! FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS!! Right now I'm making reusable shopping bags so material and cotton belting is my focus!! Lots of material choices - even a pattern I tried to find before Christmas which was hearts, stethoscopes and EKG pattern! Discounted material at $2-3 yard! So awesome! Large selections of whatever your talent may be or start a new one!! The store is huge too!! Anyway all that to say I was drooling over EVERYTHING!! I was mega into scrapbooking when the kids were younger which fed my photography passion!! Ha!! I used to draw as a kid, paint, cross stitch, knitting ( I even knit socks once upon a time, no joke!) sewing (did all the kids Halloween costumes!) and now... well... I have my own CRAFT ROOM!! My friend mentioned that she wanted to stop here to find a few things and given that it was in Sterling Heights initially I searched Yelp for a closer hobby shoppe. But since she was intent on the Hobby Lobby we made the trip over and when we arrived I thought "This place must house a literal ton of model airplanes, trains and cars!" which is what I thought she'd be looking for at a place called the Hobby Lobby. Considering how big this place is from the outside I was prepared the set foot in the mother of all hobby shoppes but once I got inside I was surprised to see that it was a actually a craft store on crack! They have a little bit of everything here and a ton of some other things. I love anything to do with stationary and writing which they had a plethora of, and I like to give my pediatric patients fun stickers after their appointments and I was blown away by how many sticker designs they had here. Rubber stamps, painting supplies, specialty handles and knobs, art deco, baking supplies...it was like Michael's but way better. Contrary to the namesake I was disappointed to see that they only had two actual aisles of hobby shoppe type merch (model rockets, planes, cars, etc.) but it was a really cool place to browse if you're into DIY. You should check it out if you're considering any kind of craft or hobby project. The store itself was clean and well organized but you'll need to look the whole place over to find what you're looking for so plan on spending a fair bit of time here unless you're a regular. read more

Tons of glass, wood, flowers, fabric, frames, knitting and home goods. I constantly visit this place and there's good reason. Great sales (1/2 the store almost will be on sale at a time) and then if your item isn't on sale you can just pull up the 40% coupon on your phone or print it at home. Stellar. I love how huge this store is and the location, although across from a busy mall, isn't too busy. I used to go here for the large selection and then realized that not only does Michael's carry everything I need, they also don't cram religion down your throat around every corner. This place is huge but don't let that fool you, they don't have as much stuff as you'd think. With large displays of cheap, overpriced, made in China knick knacks littering the place it's hard to see what the appeal is. There are areas on three sides of the main crap display that are for crafters, at first glance it seems organized but the lack of signs on any aisle make finding what I needed impossible. The staff here is practically useless when it comes to getting help in any department. The woman I dealt with at the fabric station was downright hostile because I rang the bell for service. She glared at me like I was doing it to annoy her, she clearly didn't see me (or so I thought) now I know she was just ignoring me. I special ordered four custom frame pieces and they WOULD NOT call me to let me know it came in. It's not because they're too busy that's for sure. When I called to ask about my custom frames I was transferred to three wrong departments who were all rude to me like I asked to be transferred to the wrong department specifically to bother them. After getting the run around and being told rudely that they don't call customers, even thought it would benefit their business, I almost didn't buy these frames. Now I wish I hadn't because the custom frame pieces they sell to fit together weren't cut evenly so my frame is a crooked square. A waste of time and money. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the Hobby Lobby won the right to deny it's workers birth control, their workers who are almost 100% female are getting shafted because of religious beliefs. I don't care what religion you are but if you shove it in my face or infringe on anyone's rights then you better believe ANYONE else will be getting my business. They don't have anything special and I'd rather shop on line than give the Hobby Lobby one more penny they don't deserve. read more

This is a great store, especially for women into arts and crafts. When I went expecting to find a small hobby shop, I was pleasantly surprised that they were a pretty big store, comparable to Michael's in size. I went here to buy special colored envelopes for part stickers, and did not get a chance to look around, but I could see that there were a lot of faux floral items, arts, crafts and hobby materials, etc. Also, the customer service is warm and friendly. I had a few things to return, one product of which I had opened and then realized I did not need it, and they took it all back happily. The only downside to this hobby shop is that they markup products quite a bit. For instance the packages of specialty envelopes I bought were $2.99/each at Hobby Lobby, and upon scanning the it's barcode with my iPhone's RedLaser, I saw the manufacturer themselves sell the same item for $1.97/each. Obviously Hobby Lobby offers a quick way to buy what you want on foot, but if you can plan ahead and look online first, it is to your advantage. Overall a good store to consider for those who regularly visit other stores like Michael's, Frank's Nursery and JoAnn Fabrics. FYI, Hobby Lobby is closed on the Lord's Day (Sunday). read more

If Hobby Lobby had a motto I think it would be along the lines of "we've got the cheap stuff you're looking for and then some." Their decor products are often cheap-looking, but at least they have what you came there for; it's not a bad store for how stocked they are. If you need a candle, they have two long shelves stocked with them top to bottom. If you need a knob for a drawer or a closet, there's a million of those. Typically I go to Hobby Lobby for their crafts and seasonal decor. However, this past summer I went there to find some things I could decorate my bedroom with. In typical Hobby Lobby fashion, I found exactly what I wanted, but was disappointed at how little the products were cared for. I found these pretty ceramic flowers that I planned to put on my dresser, but every single one of them was chipped or had pieces of the petals missing! As if they had been dropped and no one cared to replace them. I ended up getting the one that had the least amount of damage, but it was still chipped. That wasn't the only time that day when I found a broken product. I found a beautiful, white picture frame that had a good price and wanted to see if they had any in different colors. The only frame available in the only other color that would match my bedroom was split down the side. I'm not talking about a chip in the paint. No. The frame itself was broken in two and opened and closed like a book. How disappointing! I like Hobby Lobby for their diversity of products and the amount of it, but it looks like I'll just have to get decor items someplace else if they won't take care of it. read more

I do like browsing this store because I get ideas, however the workers here just act plain odd. I ordered some things online (shipping took forever) so I just decided to buy in store. I went to return the box of items I received when they finally arrived, the return process took forever, done with a pen and sifting through my box. And when I asked if the return would be put back on my card, the clerk stated rudely, "we don't know what card you used, we aren't affiliated with online." What? Aren't you the same store? Luckily I had a card with me that she could credit it to. They have an expansive floral dept compared to Michael's but I find they aren't the cheapest when it comes to craft supplies. Some stuff is way cheaper at Walmart or Michael's. I could also do without the aisles of Religious items but I just stroll past. read more

This place was down the street from my house but I had never been until I started to plan my wedding. Wow, this is my new fave place! They have so much to choose from and something is always 50% off! Everything I got for my wedding was half off! I could browse the aisles all day. Lines are usually long and they don't have a scanning system to ring your items...employees have to manually input the upc numbers. This resulted in me getting half of my flowers for free. read more

Very dissatisfied with management. I was going to purchase 2 pieces of furniture and other decor almost totalling $600 and noticed one of pieces of furniture is damaged and all furniture was 30%off then would be $245. bottom corner of the top was chipped off and almost broke off completely. Very noticeable! About and inch into it. Manager would only take off 10% . I asked for 20%. They wouldn't budge even though I was about to spend hundreds. One of my favorite stores! I've been to this location numerous times, the staff are so friendly and helpful! I bought a bench on clearance and the manager carried it out for me to my vehicle and also made sure the legs of the bench were secured tightly. I can always find something for our home at Hobby Lobby and I recently decorated our sons nursery with so many Hobby Lobby items! I get many compliments and get asked where I bought them. I haven't been to this particular location, or any hobby lobby for that matter, in a long time. The last time I was at this location I was refused service because I am NOT Christian and I have tattoos that represent my faith that are easily visible. Another time the clerk at the register refused to check me out because he heard me tell my friend that I donate 10 percent of my craft business earnings to marriage equality. I have tried to complain to management but they're either never available or aren't willing to do anything about it. I have watched management berate and talk down to their employees in front of customers. I have been preached to and acosted in the store by other customers and management was more willing to kick me out then them. In fact the only reason that I came again was to buy hair clips that I can't get it any of the other local craft stores because my supplier was unable to ship them in time. I'm going to have to donate more than usual to help battle the horrible so called charities that they donate money to hear like support of the Defense of Marriage Act. Hobby Lobby is a terrible company that treats its customers well only if you follow the very strict guidelines of faith that they force their employees to follow. She did not realize they were closed. the Manager embarrassed her and was very rude in her reply. She will never go back again. She is telling people about her experience. This was my first time here and I am so glad that I went to check it out. I came here to get a frame and as I was looking around the store and checking things, going through aisle by aisle. The creative buy bit me and I got all of these ideas for projects that I want to do and I also got some inspiration for projects that I have been working on for a while. Being a person who does a variety of crafts, this place is yet another great resource for supplies. I do dislike having to go navigate through that whole area of furniture to get to the aisles that I need to go to. Anyways, it's a bit pricier than some other nearby crafting stores, but the fact that there's free flyers almost everywhere definitely makes up for it! read more

Oh yes, I was looking for a knitting set to make an itsy-bitsy sweater for the egg still in my uterus. Since the Hobby Lobby management is so concerned about a woman's uterus, I thought for certain that a helpful sale clerk could help me locate mine, plus the proper very small knitting needles, appropriate yarn and really tiny pattern. They all must be very well-trained in women's reproductive organs as their company "stance" (most likely spread-eagle) indicates a serious knowledge of what should and should not be done with parts and pieces like vaginas, fallopian tubes and the egg in my uterus. Needless to say, the sales "assistant" could not help me in any way. Maybe I should have asked for management. I will never ever shop at a Hobby Lobby as long as I live. To invade women's personal lives and then not have the proper accessories is nearly a crime. I will go to any locally owned store that could care less about how I take care of myself. read more
