    The front of the store

I waited in the line with my granddaughter, and there was nobody at the checkout counter checking anybody out . The line got longer and longer, and we realized that there was ABSOLUTELY NOBODY THERE TO HELP US. No cashier at all at the check stand. There were employees around the front of the store who were aware of the issue, but they were all busy. We put 52 dollars of merchandise down and left.

I stopped in this Michael's looking for some Mother's Day project idea for my students but unfortunately they did not have much to offer. I was surprised because normally they have quite a bit. On a good note, they were 40% off! As I browsed I did find a few things I could use for some little bracelets and such. Service at the register was friendly enough. It was a little rush, but I get it there were plenty of people in line. The store was fairly organized but with a number of shelves missing items.

Was given a specific code for gloss and was still given matte

The shop isn't open every day, and while part of me wishes it were, it actually makes catching it open feel like a treat. It turns a simple supply run into something I look forward to. My first visit was just to browse. I picked up a few skeins from the discontinued/orphan bin and some fun extras for a crocheter friend. The selection immediately stood out -- this isn't big-box store yarn. The fibers are higher quality and much more enjoyable to work with. On my second visit I purchased a beautiful wool/alpaca blend hank for fingerless gloves. Carol balled the yarn for me and then taught me how to split it into two equal balls for my project. The concept honestly confused me at first, but she explained that you divide by weight rather than yardage -- and suddenly it clicked. One of those "aha" moments you remember later. Shortly after, I returned for two more hanks of the same yarn. Carol again walked me through using the swift and ball winder. I even sat at the big studio table ripping out a glove... twice... while she patiently taught two young students to crochet. Watching her explain foundation chains and rows made it clear she isn't just a shop owner -- she's a gifted teacher. Most recently, I brought in gloves I was struggling to finish. She patiently explained the construction in a way my brain could actually process and showed me an alternate method that achieved the same result but was much easier to understand. That kind of support is priceless. Carol consistently shows kindness, patience, and deep knowledge of fiber arts. The shop also carries a huge variety of patterns for knitters and crocheters at every skill level. Parking can feel confusing the first time, but it's easy once you know: there's a lot behind the building -- enter via the driveway to the left of the neighboring house -- plus plenty of street parking. As long as the shop is open, I'll keep coming back. This place feels less like a store and more like a fiber community.

If she hadn't helped me, I would never have been able to figure out how much yarn I needed for my projects! It will be my go-to from now on, as I live close by.

Walking in, I was greeted by a huge showroom filled with every kind of sewing machine imaginable. On one side, bolts of fabric, quilts, and precut packs completed the best of all worlds for my sewing needs. I spoke with Peter, whom I gather is the manager (owner?). He was welcoming and knowledgeable, guiding me to the modern Bernina that could replace my beloved "old friend." I explained my past experience with Bernina and the machine's demise, and he showed me how the newer model offered improvements in stitching and features. I had recently bought a Janome at another place and was regretting the switch. Peter offered a generous trade-in deal: he'd credit my nearly-new Janome toward a Bernina purchase at full value. I walked out with a Bernina and the sense that I'd reunited with an old companion. Peter also suggested a lesson to maximize the machine's capabilities, which I booked with Tami, a store instructor. Tami spent an hour walking me through the machine's ins and outs, and I left feeling confident and inspired. To top it off, a few accessories I wanted were available at a deep discount, thanks to Peter's careful pricing. The experience at Cozy's Creative Center was wonderful and I will be going back to attend their many classes offered for sewing projects.

It is not the biggest store in the world. But I found waaay more fabrics I wanted to take home here than in any big box store I have been to. I thought the prices were good for the quality I was getting. I got some lovely woven cotton for nightshirts, some lace for my granddaughters dress, good Guttenberg thread, and a set of French needles and pins from a brand I had read about. The cliche of hugging the fabrics in the store because you love them so much is true here. I saw a 60's inspired bright silky print that made me want to sew a flowy caftan, move to Palm Springs, and throw a FABulous party. What more can I say?

The shop has a beautiful selection of apparel fabrics, with lots of tropical, fun, colorful options that feel perfect for flowy garments, alongside more neutral choices as well. I ended up purchasing a really lovely tropical viscose and an incredible deadstock Gucci bouclé that immediately spoke to me and it happened to be on sale, which made it even better. The owner was wonderful: warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to talk with. We chatted about the fabrics and brainstormed what I might sew with them, which made the experience feel extra special. Highly recommend stopping by if you love sewing or beautiful fabric. It's a great shop with a thoughtfully curated selection, and I'm so glad I made it part of my trip.
