Miss the Husband and Wife team. Been doing business with this establishment for decades. When they gave a quote it stuck. My wife didn't have to worry about leaving and coming home for a couple days to discuss it with her Husband and then return and here the Manager or new owner come up to you and say oh we have more money in that so the 175.00 quote went to 300.00. I said wait a second my wife was quoted that two days ago. He said yeah that was two days ago. Horrible way to run a business. Taking advantage on both ends. read more

Great vibes and great music. Cool people helped me with my needs initially when I walked in. Down to earth great prices!

I've been coming to ECP for 9+ years and all the employees are great but I have to give a special shout out to the manager Liz because she's the absolute sweetest and has the best personality. They all feel like family but especially Liz because I've known her for soo long and i know she cares about her customers. She's always willing to work with you, so you don't lose your loans. Hands down the sweetest, best, pawn shop in SD! read more

Josh was amazing. Best employee ever! He got me the most for my gold ring. They even do online payments.

I used to buy there for years never had an issue until I picked out a ring to buy and I asked him can we do 100 he said yes of course, I'm gonna take it to the front and when you're ready, I'll check you out, I'm ready to be checked out the manager, tall white guy his the one that gave me the ring for 100 told me like three times yes 100. anyways he changed his mind when I made a line and everything he said no u could have it for 300. And I let him know that's not what we talked about. He got pretty weird with his ego so I just left. read more

I just had the best experience at East county pawn with Arlene Dave and Gabe, They were all very super friendly customer service was superb and most definitely I would come back and tell all my friends about this place All three of them are superstars in my book So come on down meet these wonderful people and check out their shop read more

I can't say enough about the team at East County Pawn. Their customer service is so amazing and always friendly and understanding. This is the first place I have found with great communication.....you can even text regarding items. The team at EastCounty Pawn has helped me and my family out so many times. I'm so appreciative that they are here. read more

Be careful with this scummy pawn shop. I went in personally to ask for an extension on my stuff and they still went ahead and sold my stuff. Now since my valuables have been sold they tried saying they called multiple times. Why would I need to answer a call if I went in for an extension but they didn't apply it. read more

Liz was awesome, friendly and fair. Definitely recommend this business!! Good prices too

Amazing pawn shop. Josh and Liz always give me the best prices on my purses! I highly recommend!

Staff is very rude, and unwelcoming. When I asked them questions they were very unprofessional. All of their items are way overpriced, don't waste your time. read more

Thank you to Liz and Josh for wonderful customer service!! This is my second time here and both times everything has gone smoothly , they're very professional and I recommend giving this place a try if you're planning to pawn or sell your items. I sold many items from my designer handbag collection. Both Josh and Liz were very helpful.. they met all of my expectations and provide great customer service. read more

It's a pawn shop so what do you expect! They rip you off on your stuff and loans are expensive unless you need to borrow money from gold then it maybe worth it. In the end it's a Pawn Shop and they are not there to help you! It's all about profits once again. Try selling your stuff on eBay or Amazon or another source and get paid better than a Pawn Shop! Just a suggestion! read more

Like an unseen unicorn Larry is a majestic beast. I worked with him and i got great deals, good items that are clean and not like some of the hot garbage you see at some of these other places. read more

I went into this pawn shop about a week ago with a ton of scrap silver jewelry. They proceeded to test some and then tell me some isn't real. I was like okay how much will you offer for the real stuff mainly the 2 one Troy oz silver coins. His offer was insainly low around 40% of spot. When I questioned it he said these exact words " I'm giving you 90%" I quickly checked the price of silver then since most was 925 I x .925 his offer was way way under I told him that's not 90% he then said these exact words " well we haven't updated our prices yet" if he was offering 90% at there non updated prices they must not of updated it for at least 5 years. I also had a 4.5 gram 18k gold scrap he offered $200 not as bad as the silver but still extremely fishy. There are tons of places to get 90-95% or quick 85%. These guys are running a scam show or something I would stay far far away. They have no idea what there doing they try to pull a fast one on you. O and the "fake" silver scrap I bring in I took to other places that use the xrf gun 80% of what they said was fake ended up being real. Not going to lie there was some fake pieces but they were stamped and I was able to toss the ones that wasn't legit. Anyway this place is a joke same with the people who run it bunch of losers read more

A few days before Father's Day my gave me $200, two $100 bills to purchase a bass guitar and amplifier. I put the money in my front pocket and drove to ECP. I walked in the store and I notice a couple of bass guitars hanging up. I reached in my pocket to retrieve my reading glasses to read the tag on the guitar. The bass gutiar is not what I was looking for and walked out of the store. I reached in my pocket as I was heading to my vehicle and discovered my $200 was missing. I quickly retraced my steps back into ECP. I saw one of the employees asking, whose money is this? I indicated it was mine and he gladly returned the money back to me. I value ECP honesty and will make an effort to purchase something from them in the future. read more

I was looking for a PlayStation 4and went on Yelp to look for some local pawn shops, East County pawn came up and they had good reviews and I was close by so I decided to stop by. As soon as I got inside I was greeted and was asked if I needed any help, so then I knew that they were a super friendly staff. And when I had some questions about a certain PlayStation 4, the guy that helped me answered all my questions so that helped ensure me that I was getting a good PS4 and at a great deal as well. I will definitely come back here to pick up some video games soon, those are at a great price as well and this pawnshop does have a variety of interesting items. Thanks again read more

They treated my friend and I really well. Have her a very honest appraisal of her jewelry and have her a great discount on a PS3 when she sold some of it to them. Very courteous staff and they bend over backwards to make sure the customer leaves satisfied. read more

i hated it. unprofessional and the worst customer service will not be going back there again

Always a great experience never feel uncomfortable great people great customer service highly recommend

I needed to pull my laptop out for work. It was very important. I drove all the way from point Loma to El Cajon to pick it up. I arrived at 5:56 p.m. but the employees wanted to leave early so they had already locked the front door and refused to let me in. My entire job was compromised all so these employee can get home and watch Netflix a whole 5 minutes sooner than if they would have got off the time they're supposed to. What a joke! Last time I did this place my business and I suggest everyone reading this look elsewhere. Besides the rates here are the worst in the entire county. Spanky's down the street will give you more for just about anything. Hope that 5 minutes was worth it. Not to mention the gas. I wasted driving all the way from point Loma to El Cajon for basically nothing. read more

If needs arise and you find you have to pawn something this is where to go. They try to accommodate you in the best way possible. They do their best to work with what you need to pawn then figuring what they can sell it for in the end. Each time I was treated with respect and sensitivity. I've purchased quite a bit in there and got the best deals possible. Just overall satisfied with the place. As a manager Kristy reigns up there with the best of them! Josh is a really great guy as well and goes out of his way to give you the best ! Give it a try it's worth it! read more

This place has good game selection for my kids and cool jewelry fast, check out and good people

I have done business with these people for many years I know recently a few years back they changed owners but they've always been a decent enough business to work with until today I picked up my ring today right around closing time on Sunday at 4:30I we signed for the ring and we went out to the car and I sat there looking at the ring at my daughter pointed out how the ring Stone was not the same Center Stone anymore I looked carefully at the ring and I am positive that the stone on my ring has been changed they took my stone out and replaced it with one that is a lot less valuable I am livid about this I am disgusted about this and I'm going to take legal action but I'm telling you if you're going to go take your jewelry there beware they switch stones read more

This is my first time here, I haven't been to a pawn shop in years, and I definitely wasn't expecting much for my diamond ring (weren't the biggest diamonds). but to my surprise I was able to get 180 for a quick pawn. definitely coming back to these guys. David was awesome , he was quick and friendly. These guys definitely get a five stars from me. I will be back soon, for my ring that is, but eventually I will purchase something. Thanks you guys! read more

I recently came with a gold belt that retail cost around $350 and wasn't expecting to get the exact amount obviously. The belt had a minor scratch on the gold but not noticeable at all when worn. He then went to speak to the manager to figure out a cost and i was offered $30 for a $350 belt.. These guys dont know the value of anything and will just slap a price on anything. Would not recommend going to this store nor anyone else coming here either. I hope they go out of business. read more

After the fire the old owners just seemed to have had it with dealing with it anymore. I have been going there since the they were on Jamacha Rd. But the new people there are cool and very customer friendly. Unless you play the musical instruments that make it sound like fingers on a caulk board. Thing to think about is. Kristy is my gal there!! But they put a new cage in. They have to let you out now!!! There is no place better to shop, get great deals, and as long as you play with everything!!! Very friendly. read more
