I would recommend finding a different company. Unfortunately, this company lost my trust, after going here for over two decades. They abused my trust and faith and overlooked items in a service that were important to the safety of my bike, and my well being. During this process employees belittled me, patronized me, and more once I brought it to their attention the work was not completed in its entirety. I even unfortunately walked around a corner and was the topic of employees conversations saying mean things about me, simply because I "caught" them. What happened was I had my bike serviced and found out that the items I was paying for in the service (30hr service) were not actually being completed. Many items were marked done, and another shop discovered that they were not. Once I found this out, I reached out to KTM and found out this has been an ongoing issue with this shop and they set me up with another shop. They said they checked the brakes, but the brakes were rusty and failing, they said they replaced seals, but no seals were replaced, they said they repacked the exhaust, but this never occured, and much much more sadly. One of managers, Scott, attempted to salvage the relationship and convinced me to come back. He apologized for the work not being conducted and reassured me they would fix it and make it right. While they had my bike, I notified Scott that I simply needed the bike safe and that they didn't need to "save face", just to do the right thing. This comment I believe affected his ego. He responded with saying they would not do work for me in the future, while they still had my bike. I showed back up and my bike was outside, keys in it, no work done, and that was it. Very sad to see a company like this that has been entrusted by the community, revert to increasing their margins by skipping steps and assuming the average consumer would not notice. After the second incident I reached out to the general manager twice (Maya) and was never reached back out to. Given their unethical business practices, I would suggest utilizing a different company and hoping they have integrity compared to this company. Big let down for me and really bothersome. read more

Updates: reached out to the dealer for solutions, and in the meantime I placed my check hold until this is resolved. Then I received a threat message from a sales manager, see the photo attachment. This place is disgusting, zero respect to customers,avoid it at all costs. Just bought a brand new Jetski (2024 model)from them today, and went to wildlife department for registration, I was told the ski was already registered to another owner back in May... in another word, they sold me a used ski as new machine! What a scam of business! Now it makes sense why there are scratches all over the body, foot pads all peeled, and dirty seats.. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Salespeople are lazy and service is horrendous. Look at the reviews and see for yourself. If you want to take your life in your hands, give money away, and be insulted take it to Micheal's powers ports Reno.. They quoted me a rate per hour twice on the phone and that same rate is posted on the wall: $150/hour. When I brought the boat in the rate increased $50. Dishonest business practices. Service had the boat for an oil change and inspection. They called me a day later saying service inspection was complete, but that the trailer did not have brake fluid so they needed to charge another hour and inspect for a leak. Mind you this virtually a brand new 2023 boat and trailer with 23 hours. So I approved the brake inspection and heard nothing back. I went in to pick the boat up and they hadn't even looked at the brakes. They argued with me over the rate change and finally gave in to the quoted/posted rate. They said take the boat and trailer because they wouldn't look at the brakes because I confronted them. They were hostile. I looked at the brakes and it was low and there was a leak on a single line fitting screw. Mind you the boat never leaked ANY thing in the driveway until Michael's had it. It's brand new! Got it home, tightened the fitting, and filled the reservoir. No leak anymore! They are dangerous, dishonest, and untrustworthy. Look at the rest of the reviews and see for yourself. If you want to take your life in your hands, give money away, and be insulted take it to Micheal's powers ports Reno. I would rather drive the boat across country than have them touch it! They know they have a monopoly in Reno and take advantage of their customers. Zero integrity and motivation at this establishment. I will be filling a complaint with owner, BRP, BBB and the state. Since then, I've returned to make numerous other purchases and have even brought friends and family from out of town. John and Kris always work out great deals for all of us. One of the worst dealerships I've ever been to in my entire life should've known not to buy anything from them. When you walk in, the sales people just look at you. They're not really involved and try to help you out. I ended up buying a unit from them. What an experience that was! They lied to you over and over and over, and then after the sale, they treated you like crap, making you feel like you're an idiot for just trying to get them to do the right thing. I've asked for the GM or owner to contact me numerous times, but they will not do it. I had the vehicle in for service. What a joke that was! Multiple issues had a front windshield that was a Can-Am product, and they tried to tell me that the windshield does not sit flat. That is a lie. They stripped out top bolts, scratched the new windshield, and then when you call and say, "What are you going to do about it? They have a technician who lies to you and tells you it doesn't sit flat and that we were forced to rush your job. I feel like they think that you complain for just wanting things done the right way, and now they won't even answer phone calls in service to fix what I've already paid for when it comes to warranty work. I've had two squeaking doors since buying a unit, and basically, they're telling me it needs to break in. That's BS because it's getting worse the more I drive it. It's not even enjoyable. It's ear-piercing. It just seems like everybody you talk to will lie to you and tell you what you want to hear, and then after the sale, they'll treat you like garbage. I think that you complain about everything even though they're in the wrong. It's absolutely disgraceful of a dealership, and the fact that the general manager and the owner will not reach out to a customer that just spent their money there. Paul was a good person to work with, he was honest, direct and upfront, and didn't waste my time when I called and even got back to me in a timely manner. I was looking to purchase a 2018 Honda Shadow Phantom, and was informed by the salesman Bram that it was being held for me so that when I came up and bought it, it would still be there. instead he ran circles, and did not inform me that this bike was sold a day before I was to come up to Reno and purchase it. I will not be working with Reno powersports again, and I especially will not be working with any one of it's associates again either. Michael's hand stamped the old VIN number from a heavily damaged new unit onto a new frame (2 frames with the same VIN). Later during a DMV inspection, I could not renew the registration of the motorcycle because the inspector noticed that the VIN was not factory original. What a scam this place is. read more

Bought a Yahama generator about a year ago, the unit stopped working. We took it in to see what the issue was and the store stated we put bad gas in it, which was never the case. The generator had barely 15 hours on it and now we are out a generator. The store was no help, and stated they won't fix it because it's not under warranty because we put "bad gas" in it. We bought a gas jug just for the generator and only used clean gas. Would not recommend purchasing anything from This store, if something goes wrong they won't help you out. read more

I brought my bike in for repairs and had to push the entire way to get anything done. The one motorcycle I am interested in sells roughly around for $5k+... But, at this establishment? They said it would be about $9k out the door. Service is short staffed. No phone calls ever on the status of your repair and every other appointment takes precedence over yours even if your appt was weeks before theirs. The first time I used Michaels was to buy a part for one of my snowmobiles. The parts guy was friendly and helpful. The price of the part was inline with other buying options. So, overall, a good experience. Unfortunately, on the way out, I stopped by the new snowmobile section. I shoulda known better. The following day I drove out with two new sleds, Frick!! The salesman, Trevor, was friendly and low key. I was able to score a really good deal on an end of season buy. Michaels gave me such a good deal, I couldn't say no. The whole process went smooth and fast. Everyone was helpful and bent over backwards to make the deal happen. Trevor even helped dupe one of my kids so we could make it a fun surprise for him. Worst experience EVER! We were seriously out to buy a motorcycle today, walked in and even though quite a few employees around talking, NO ONE said Hello, or even asked to help us, even though my husband was checking out a few different motorcycles. Finally after about 25 minutes, we have to go up and ask for help, this guy acted like we were an inconvenience. We were very interested in a certain motorcycle, we asked to have it turned on, and my husband asked to test drive it , this salesman said: "oh no, there are no test drives allowed", I said my husband has 3 motorcycles and has a license class for Mc, the salesman then said "sure, anyone can say that, but then you could take our bike and wreck it"........ SERIOUSLY? How very rude of this guy! My husband said: "how can I buy something with out it being started and test driven?", the salesman just shrugged his shoulders...... We decided to go back to the Harley Davidson dealer in Reno, yesterday they were happy to let us test drive one of theirs.... As we walked out, and employee was sitting on a counter, leaning on a wall with his eyes closed. What kind of place is this?? A two star does NOT surprise me, as i came to write this review. I would give zero stars if i could. Take your business somewhere else. They have failed to turn in the title on one of my sea dos I purchased almost 7 months ago. I called to speak to a supervisor. to figure out what is going on. I am put on the phone with a John or Johnathon he then told me he was the general manager of this place. I start to tell him what is going on and that i purchased these jet skies last year and he interrupts me and says "well what is it, this year or a week ago" I was genuinely confused because clearly i said last year, not a week ago. I told him no need to give me an attitude, and then everything went down hill after that. He was screaming at me on the phone. I asked him several times to speak to someone else. He told me there was no one i can talk to. As i am asking him what information do i need to give him ( this point i am having to pretty much scream over him) he continues to threaten me with hanging up on me. I finally start getting him to take my number down and he then says you know what i am not dealing with you. someone else can give you a call....... wait!!! that is exactly what i have been asking for this whole time???? Ever since you decided it was appropriate to hang up on me 6 times. Every time i called back i asked for someone to talk to and i got him, John. He said he wasn't giving me his bosses information because i just want to go talk to him..... well yes i do. After the way i have been treated i would hope your boss wants to know what kind of representation you are doing for his company. You should be ashamed of your actions and i truly hope this gets up to HR and they call me. If negative stars were a possibility then that's what they'd be getting! When I bought a supposed "brand new boat" from them: -The boat was completely filthy and I had to request someone to clean it, in which they had sprayed it down in a rushed manner. -The Owner's Manual had an uncanny resemblance to a completely molded piece of bread. And they have yet to send me a new one after months of having said they would. -They were unable to give me a rundown instructive of the various specs and uses of the boat due to the lack of their knowledge thereof. -Most severely, when we were driving home with the boat, I noticed some smoke and quickly pulled over to find that all of the bolts of the left tire of the boat's trailer were all broken. And after having had to inconveniently have the boat towed to a tire shop, I was informed that Michael's Reno Powersports had failed to torque the nuts, but instead had hand-tied them. If I hadn't noticed the smoke on time, we could have been seriously injured if not killed. This lack of care for any detail is not just lazy but simply inconsiderate to customers, their time, money, and clearly their lives and well-being. read more

As a young female I hope to be treated with the same dignity and respect as anyone else. In hopes to become a new rider I went here to look at bikes . Im 5' 110lbs and a new rider . I went in looking for something 200-300cc and somehow was told to look at bike with 600+cc. On top of that, words like "don't flatter yourself" came out of an employee's mouth. Bought a helmet here because I loved the helmet itself and couldn't find it online. I will never be back, and would not recommend this location to anyone looking to start out, or any young females who are already uncomfortable about beginning a male dominated sport . These guys would not talk/ treat their daughters this way so I'm not sure why they felt it was acceptable to treat me or anyone this way. read more

I strongly advise anyone looking to work here, especially in the accounting department NOT TO! I was hired and training and enjoying it. Throughout my 2 weeks there, I was told very confidential information about current and prior employees by my manager aka "HR." I had been working on something for about 2 hours and the person training me came back from an appt. I sat to the side, IN SILENCE, while the trainer was going over the same thing I had been doing for 2 hours and I LOOKED at my phone for about 5 seconds...I was called this morning before my shift and told, "This isn't going to work out." No one has your back, everyone bad mouths "HR" constantly for lack of people skills, and there is no ability for someone with a fun, young personality to do well in that environment. read more

Took a couple of waverunners in to be winterized and have some wiring fixed on my waveRunner trailer. Very very pleasant Britney and Rob were awesome. Also had a couple of tires put on my quad and they also fixed a two cycle oil leak on one of the waverunners. The one thing about businesses that I really pay attention to is I don't mind waiting my turn but when it's my turn I really appreciate the attention to getting my issues resolved and fixed. And Michaels is really good at that it might take a little while because they're very popular but they are a place of integrity read more

I regret ever doing business with this place. Go out of the area to get something. If I could rate it half a star, I would. My wife and I bought a 2021 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX 1000 Limited Edition two-seat side by side. But the entire experience has been nothing but painful. We originally ordered the Wolverine XTR. On two separate occasions, I was called and told my unit had arrived, only to be told that it wasn't really my unit. The first time it was someone else's order. The second time was a 4-seater, not a two seater. I talked to the general manager and he told me they never know what is coming on any given truck--if you can believe that. Next, the experience with service/parts. I ordered several parts about two months ago: windshield, front brush guard, soft rear window, skid plate, cab heater and spare tire and rim. I called service for an estimate on install cost. I was told that the machine is so new they don't have install estimates yet. He had to call a number and get those estimates. He'd call me back the next day. That was six days ago. I called and left a message three days ago. No return call. Today I went in person and the service department was pretty good. They actually had time estimates. Ok. Progress. I mentioned that I received a Michael's generated e-mail saying my special order part is in. The service guy suggests I go to parts and see what they can tell me-- since he didn't order it, he can't see it in the computer system. So I go to parts and ask about what part had arrived. Guess what? The "system" is locked and they can't see what part arrived. It's a glitch. I'll only gloss over the three messages I left with the business office, the two messages I left for sales staff, one for the general manager and the one for service--none of which were ever returned. The biggest glitch is having to do business with this outfit. read more

A lot of negative reviews for them, but we have had a good experience with Michael's. We bought our Can-am about a year ago from them. They made a mistake, when they seemed to be genuinely trying to help people out. When we bought it, I wanted a spare tire. They had a bunch already premade (just a steel wheel and pretty standard tire) which were significantly cheaper than buying an oem wheel and matching tire. Well, we finally got a flat on Mother's Day this year, and turned out the inside of the wheel was about 2mm to small and locked onto the brake caliper and was unusable. Thankfully we were with friends who had a patch kit and all was good. Brought the wheel and tire back to them after having it for a year. Told them what happened and they seemed actually sorry it had happened. The swapped it out with an oem wheel and matched the new tires we had just bought after the flat at no charge to us. Even though, they made an honest mistake, they made it right in the end. read more

About eight months ago, my wife and I stopped in the store just to see the 2020 Can Am X3 XRC Turbo RR in person. Beautiful machine. The salesman, Bram, greeted us immediately and we instantly knew he was something more than a typical salesperson. It usually frustrates me when we know more about the product we're shopping for than the salesperson. NOT the case here with Bram! He is THE most knowledgeable person on the subject of SxSs, dirt bikes and anything with an engine. He's been riding since he was 2 years old and it shows. After spending more than an hour with him, we left the store because our timing wasn't right just yet to make the purchase. Bram didn't pressure us. He didn't even ask for my contact info. He just gave us his card. How often does THAT happen when shopping for a car or truck?! Eight months later, we returned to the store on July 1 to buy the last XRC in NV because we waited to hear Can Am's 2021 announcement. When we discovered that the new rig would only have a new paint job, we dashed to meet with Bram. Bram dropped cooking his BBQ at home and came in on his day off to meet us. The whole buying process went smooth and fast. Everyone was helpful and bent over backwards to make the deal happen. Bram even promised to deliver the new toy on a trailer 45 miles away to our home. I was returning to the Bay Area on my KTM 790 after riding taking 15 days to do the Continental Divide ride and while in Fernley getting gas I realized that my front tire was dangerously shot. A front tire blowout at 70mph + would not be good. I called Michael's and spoke with Allan on the Service desk. He said they had a tire and could put it on as soon as I got there! Awesome! That's exactly what they did and Connor the tech noticed a few other things needed tweaking as well. I was in and out in about 1.5 hours. The bike ran great and I'm not dead! Took my 2005 Goldwing to be sold on consignment. In the past, I've bought one new and one used motorcycle from Micheal's and have sold one one consignment. After 9 or 10 months the Goldwing finally sold. I'm really not sure how, it was never saw it on their web site...I learned it had sold when someone from the service dept. called and needed authorization to replace the dead battery on the bike so they deliver it. (I guess Micheal's doesn't have a trickle charger.) So I've called twice over the last 7 days asking about my check for the motorcycle. "the owner has to come in and sign it". "I don't see any paper work on the sales managers desk" "Who told you we had a check ready?" I really don't care what Micheal's of Reno paperwork process is....If you don't have my motorcycle, I should have a check. The only person from Micheal's who has reached out to me has been the service guy....to ask me for money......see where I'm going with this. I don't have a bike or battery or a check for the my proceeds from its sale. read more
