Jordan and her team in framing are awesome!!! I reluctantly brought in a painted canvas to have it framed. 'Reluctant' because my artistic skills are lacking ;) lol and choosing a frame, mat, etc seemed like a daunting task. Jordan took a look at the painting and went to town choosing frames and liners, providing several different options. As her coworkers walked by they each selected another option. Busy store and there is ALWAYS a long line at checkout. The store associates are very friendly, but they don't ring up customers very quickly. Make sure to check the Michael's app while you wait in line, there is almost always a coupon available for a discount off of one item. There is a decent selection here without getting too specialized. Probably great for anyone around the beginner-intermediate level of crafting, but if you need something really specific you will probably have better luck online. read more

Michael's, (crafts) located on Lagonia in Redlands Michael's crafts has a wide selection of supplies for almost every craft you could think possibly think of! From simple craft projects such as scrap booking to wedding decorations, they have it. However, customer service isn't good at all so if you know exactly what you need great, but if you don't well you could feel a little over whelmed like the little old lady that asked me if i could help her. The little lady asked me if I could help her find the right glue she needed for her little bird house she was making. She asked me because she said that she asked for an employee to help her 20 minutes ago! REALLY! So I helped her by read the back of the glue bottles to see which one worked best on her bird house. I finally found the right glue for her bird house but I was disappointed with Michael's employees lack of responsibility to help her. So there you have my 3 star review, they have everything you need for a project however their customer service was less than zero because of the lack of respect they showed this sweet little old lady. read more

The store is nice and has nice things. The prices aren't bad. But God forbid anyone actually help you. I had to stand in a BUSY LONG line where they had only two checkers open (about 15 people in front of me) just try and get some help for what I needed. The guy who opened the second line was nice enough busy still of no help. He RAN threw the store almost knocking over people pointed at it and ran off... After deciding to buy something that was similar but not what I needed I had to wait in a LONG line AGAIN! Hobby Lobby is right around the corner and they always have people out on the floor and the minute the line gets to long they make sure and open more checkers. Understaffing is only hurting your store... Especially when there ARE other options. read more

We were unsuccessful at opening the app so he recommended that I reach out to customer service so that I could redeem my rewards. I go to this store all the time and the cashiers and staff have been nothing but helpful. Today, not so much. I purchased floral items that were heavy on the bottom. The cashier rang up my items and placed the floral in the bags head first and placed the three bags of my items on the side counter with the handles going all different directions. When I tried to pick up my bags, I couldn't find the handles and the cashier didn't even make an attempt to assist me. Then, when I finally found the handles the items started to fall out because the heavy part was above the handle. So I finally yanked the items out of the bag and re-bagged them while the cashier was already calling for the next person to come forward for her to ring them up. I felt rushed and I felt the cashier was pretty inconsiderate about not offering to help me find the handles nor did she say thank you after my purchase. I was quite irritated with my experience. It would seem that Michaels may need to remind their new staff about customer service. I'm not asking for much. Just a little courtesy. read more

I was there when they opened, and had a question. I could not find an employee so I used my cellphone to ask for help, and was told they would be there soon. After 10 minutes, I went to purchase my other items and asked politely to see a manager. The cashier asked why. She said "well we are short one person." I said "in that case, your manager should be helping." She said "that is not the way the store works, but whatever" in a rude tone. Manager comes up and I repeat what I was told by the cashier. Cashier says "I never said that." Totally lying. The manager apologized for the cashier's comments. I will not be returning. read more

I've now shopped every Michael's in my obsessive pursuit to find ALL the cool Smash/scrapbook/journaling supplies in the Inland Empire. OK, this is not scrapbooking for stay at home Moms who want perfect anal designed, perfect coordinated albums the kids will toss when they hit 50 themselves, but super cool journalling combined with scraps and stickers and stuff and whatever flat things you can find in your travels and all kinds of FUN!! How could I not enjoy checking all these things out? Seriously. Google it if you have not heard of products such as Smash book, 7 Gypsies, Recollections, K & Company, etc.. So here I am, in the Redlands area, and to my surprise there is a Michaels like 0.5 miles from my other destination. Woot! So, their store layout was a little funky. I had to hike a little bit past the wedding frippery and kids craft sets to find all the super cool scrapbook journalling stuff but hey, good exercise, right? There was yet another sale which was great (including a FEW select scrapbook journalling items) and this time at least i could find the products on sale in the same area as the signs. That's always a good idea. Usually you have sale tags over empty hooks or hooks stuffed with all kinds of cr*p that are not the sale items at all. Blah. It was just after noon, and crowded! Well, tomorrow is Valentines Day, so maybe the frenetic crowd of stressed-out looking women all running around with glazed eyes was all about them trying to pull off some Valentine's miracle the next day. I guess? I myself have a much more laid back attitude about these consumer-driven created "holidays" (and no kids, so no stress muahahahahaaa) so I just took my time and browsed around the throngs of pop-eyed gals with crazed glazed eyes. The check out line was like, wow, kinda long. Luckily I got in line just before about 10 others got in behind me. They did get a third checker, so I guess it was ok, but it sure looked like a long intimidating line of stressed out day-before-Valentine's-Day gals, so you never know when one might explode or something. While I was there, all the ladies maintained and did not start chucking heart print cupcake liner papers at anyone or anything like that. At any rate, standard Michaels, standard stuff, laid out a little funky but... All in all, a perfect average. :) P.S. Ladies, leave your poor husbands at home, or send them off to Home Depot. Seriously, there is nothing more painful to see than a man caught like a deer in headlights standing painfully yet dutifully next to his wife while she takes 20 minutes to decide between the teal and aqua blue glitter. Cut the poor guy loose and get him to a tool shop STAT!! read more

Jenna in framing is fantastic! We had a family photo that we wanted framed. Jenna suggested a three color matte job and it was perfect. Each color of the matte layers pulled a color from the photo and it really is stunning. I never would have thought of the end results so her expertise really made the difference. If I could give zero stars I would for this review because I am absolutely appalled at the way an online order/store pickup just went down. I truly hope someone from corporate office contacts me so I can share my information and experience dealing with managers Kyle and Crystal. I placed an online order for store pick up of a craft cart yesterday and went to the store today 2 hours after they opened to pick it up. When I ordered it online it said they have the item in stock in the store. We waited from 1200 to 1247 for both managers to pass the buck around on who's responsible for finding it and checking the 13 trailers of items because no one had pulled the item from the back yet. That's absolutely unacceptable that the item wasn't pulled yet because my card was already charged and I am minus 75 dollars from bank account. Both managers were extremely rude, Crystal laughed and kept laughing saying sometimes it happens where their counts are not right and they sell things not in stock. Pretty shocked at the bad business practices then if that's how Michaels does things not to mention two incredibly poorly trained managers with no customer service skills. So needless to say I don't have a craft cart, my 75 dollars is on some sort of hold which will be refunded in 5-7 business days and Michaels has for sure lost a customer. Morgan did the most amazing job assisting me with framing pictures of my kids that were a Christmas gift to my parents. Let me say that my parents were thrilled and said they were the best gift they could ever ask for, frames matched their home decor perfect too! I got a few for myself which I personally liked even more. Morgan listened to exactly what I wanted, design style etc and created a beautiful look!! She was so incredibly sweet and patient too, I wanted to hook her up with my son but she's taken, darn! Never again! The store itself deserves a good 4 stars but the ONE star is because on a busy and crowded Saturday afternoon they only have ONE cashier open. Are you serious?? I counted ELEVEN people in queue waiting for checkout. This has happened in 3 of my last 4 visits. Is that any way to treat your customers? There's NO EXCUSE for bad management. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE PREFER INTERNET SHOPPING!!! Start treating your customers with the respect they deserve. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I don't know what else to say beyond that. I mean, I want to love Michael's; I really do, but I just can't. Everytime I have gone to the store (SEVERAL times) something has just gone wrong & I end up running into the safe, inviting arms of JoAnn's. First off, I have never liked how absolutely crowded the store is. Not with people mind you, but STUFF. The aisles are close together, the crap in the middle overtakes everything & now the back of the store is turning into Frame Central Only. I knit & crochet. I used to love Michael's vast array of yarns. Now their "vast array" is limited to two shelves back to back with scant amount of colors. Christmas comes & their seasonal shelf is one shelf. But need a fake flower? They've got ya covered! Another irksome issue with Michael's is their lack of registers being open at one time. I stood in line one day for 25 minutes (I timed them). Started out near the middle of the store in one long line, had my cart full of items I got on a 50% off rack, only to make it to the register for the employee to say the items I had were not on the 50% sale. I debated that as each item matched & was on a shelf for 50% off (customer behind me backed me up saying she too had some of those items), but the manager came over to tell us there was a "mistake" & they wouldn't give the discount. At this point the line was to the back of the store & people were very mad. Other employees were stocking shelves, showing how to paint wood (seriously) but were not opening any other registers. At 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Needless to say, I let them keep their items (as did the woman behind me & three others in line) & I went to JoAnn's where I got the items needed @ a decent price. read more

It's a good place to go to find most of the things you need for projects... but I always feel like I'm there on their busiest days! And hey, good for them, but the way they set up their checkout stands (which I think they recently rearranged to something worse) just make the lines go so slow... Always seem like they're shorthanded... I usually only try to shop their when they have sales going on because of how expensive the china-made stuff is... The night before Halloween I decided to do a last minute snack for my class and I was going crazy because Michaels was going to close in forty-five minutes and I was very pleased and happy! I had three employees help me! They were not annoyed by me asking them where certain items were AND they walked me to the items, unlike other places where customer service isn't as great and they just point, but not this place they were great! When I hear the word "BLESSED" first thing I think of is a Christian but you don't talk one so I am assuming this is a term you loosely throw around, you are right about being dressed for success and your son was not wrong for dressing the way he does, they should appreciate that someone comes in dressed in a respectable manner, if I was you I would have emailed the corporate office in a professional manner so they may consider your what you experienced, when people talk the way you did in your review they figure your just an angry person or if you are like that your son must be like that in will just toss out what you had to say. This Michaels had the Hello Kitty cake pan that I was looking for but it didn't have all the other things that I was looking for. I gave it three stars because the line was long and they had a lady walking around the line to scan your items and she handed us a paper and said give this to your cashier when you get to the front this speeds up the process. We still stood in line for 10 mins and when we got to the front of the line the cashier scanned the paper. It took about 2 mins to load up on the screen, then she re-scanned the items and sat them on the counter to tell us the total and waited for us to pay and give us our change and then put the stuff into the bag instead of multi-tasking. Everyone was nice but super slow, no sense of urgency. read more

I love this store as they carry many things you can't find at Joanns but can find at some of the smaller craft stores. They have decent prices and good coupons and they take Joanns coupons! They have a wonderful call on saturday for kids. I used to teach this class and it gives parents a little while to shop in the store on a saturday and not have to worry about chasing the kids around. I know how that can be as I have a little one myself. read more

I visited the Redlands location on September 18 to get some items for my classroom. The line was long, there was only two registers open. I waited my turn. As I reached the front of the line to be checked out next the older of the two clerks started inputting information from a new reward card into the register, rather than calling me up to be waited on. I looked behind me to see if the line had gone down, it hadn't...there were still six people behind me! The other clerk called me and as I placed my purchases on the counter, the first clerk immediately put down the reward card and called the next person. I can only assume she didn't want to wait on me for some reason. I am not one to play the race card, but this is not the first time this same woman has pointedly avoided waiting on me. Management should be aware this is happening. It's not good for their business. JoAnn will accept Michael's, coupons so no reason to keep going there... read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would, so here's the story, my 3.3 GPA high school senior who always dresses nice and prefers suit and tie rather than jeans and a t-shirt goes into the store looking for a summer job before he leaves to attend GCU, this happened on May 28th, 2015 between 2-4 pm, he seeks out the person in charge to talk to them about employment, the jerk of a manager tells him first off that he is overdressed, are you kidding me, I was always taught to dress for success, obviously something this clown of a manager knows nothing about, proceeds to tell my son he should dress the way he normally does, HE WAS! Sounds like this sorry excuse for a manager need sensativity training and needs to learn how not to "stereotype" someone for wearing a suit, or not for that matter. I sure hope that Michaels upper management reads this so they can council this looser for telling my son, or anyone for that matter how they should dress, I am very Blessed and proud that my son likes to dress nice, and I encourage him to do so, I just hope that your uneducated advice has no future effects and my son realizes that this is exactly the place he NEVER wants to work for! read more

I'm so frustrated with Michaels Floral Department. This afternoon I picked out a very special Santa Floral Arrangement for my long time friend for her Birthday/Christmas present. She collects Santa's and this was a beautiful piece and the price was right however when the store employee tried to lift it up it became separated from it's base, luckily a floral employee was right there and she told me that she would fix the Santa arrangement but I would have to wait until the hot glue dried. I told her that I would go to Penney's then come back. Two hours later I arrive at Michael's to pick up my Santa piece but no one can seem to find it, and after some time of employee's calling up other employee's a Michael's female floral employee emerges and told me that she had sold it to another customer because I took too long. What the heck....I had other items on hold so that I could pay for all of the items together and those bags were misplaced but were eventually located. I will not shop at this store....period. The right hand did not know what the left hand was doing....mass confusion and a very bad shopping experience. read more

I usually like to go to Michaels after having lunch, but because you have to find someone to unlock the restrooms if you can fina anyone on the floor it is almost impossible since you end up going to the registers to ask for someone to open the door. Being a Senior Citizen it sometimes can be embarrasing thinking you may not make it in time. Joannes and other establishments trust you that they do not make you find an associate to unlock the restroom doors. So no more going there till I know I won't need to use the restroom. read more

I wanted to exchange a gift that I received for Christmas and the rules were very strict. I can return it at a deduction of 20% from what my friend paid for it unless I have a gift receipt. When my friend sends me the receipt; I will not be asking for an exchange. Instead I will be asking for a full refund. I will never go there again. What a rip off.
