Kalie is extremely rude, ill mannered and condescending. It's a mistake to let her interact with customers.

I also love their paper selection and variety of supplies. I always make sure to use a coupon when I shop here, which makes the prices very competitive. This is located in a strip mall with Academy Sports at one end, and Laser Tag at the other end on the north side of Veterans BLVD. HUGE parking lot in front. It is fairly easy to get in and out of the parking lot. Walking in, I was quick to notice the closed circuit monitoring of the store. The sales are fairly good, but even not on sales, the prices are not too bad. On my most recent visit, I was looking for a basic kit to learn to cross stitch, found it quickly and was able to check out quickly. Most visits, the store has plenty of associates on the floor to help you. This visit (July 4th) was light on help, but it is a holiday and I am glad they were even open. Nice surprise! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and checkout is easy. The whole store is neat, clean and well organized. The signs at the end of the aisles are true to what is actually on the aisle. Great job!

First, the instructor texted me to come in at any time during the week to complete the glazing phase of my pottery. When I arrived, she told me I couldn't glaze because a class was in session--contradicting the message she had sent. Additionally, their posted hours of operation were inaccurate. She originally stated the studio closed at 5 PM, but after I pointed out that the website listed 8 PM, she admitted the discrepancy. When it was time to pick up my pottery, they couldn't find my pieces. On top of that, the instructor's mother was incredibly rude. At checkout, I asked if they accepted both cash and card, and the instructor confirmed they did. However, when I presented a $100 bill (for a remaining balance of $45), they had no change. The mother repeatedly insisted I just "leave the remainder as a tip" three separate times. I had already planned to leave a tip, but being pressured like that was uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I refused, they then asked me to Venmo the payment because they didn't want to pay card processing fees. While the actual pottery class itself was enjoyable, the operational side of this business was frustrating and unprofessional. Clear communication, better organization, and basic customer service improvements would make a huge difference. Until then, I can't recommend Artsy Edge.

Before I get to the main body of my review, I want to mention their old location. Located on Camp Street in a very old building, the amount of history in that place was truly amazing. In their case were old police badges, old signs, etc. that they had made throughout the years. I was really sad to see them move from the old spot, but the new place is much more customer friendly. Now in Mid-City, there is ample street and lot parking. Inside the store is clean, modern and efficient. There are many items on display that show the range of things they can create. Everything from vinyl signs to super high end markers for mausoleums. The favorite piece of mine is the old wheelbarrow branded with the Ed Smith logo prominently displayed in the lobby. But looking at cool things is not why I come. I have had many different items made by Ed Smith over the years including name tags, desk name plates, office door plates and most recently self-inking stamps. The quality of their stamps is first rate. They even handled a difficult custom job for me that I picked up today. While not cheap, I have never seen a self- inking stamp so large or so clear. The staff are very helpful and even willing to deal with difficult customers who have unrealistic expectations (Me). I am sure you can go to some national company for these kinds of things, but trust me, Ed Smith is the best at what they do, and they are local.
