So happy with the framing service I received from Brandy at Michaels today! I want to begin tracking my families travels with a push pin world map and Brandy executed my request perfectly and timely. She dry mounted a map I had previously purchased online, and helped me pick out the appropriate push pin size. I was so pleased with her service I had another map dry mounted as well and gifted to my Godson who's learning the 50 states. Brandy also provided the hooks needed to hang both maps. If you have a framing project, go to Micheal's and ask for Brandy. Tell her Ashley sent you lol! read more

Michaels - Knitting Supplies Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

While I don't get *all* my crafting supplies at Michael's, they're great in a pinch when you need something quick. I recently needed abalone for this particular project, and thankfully they had it, and the right size too! Their selection of holiday stuff is always fun to browse, despite never being able to afford it, but they do run sales often! I love that there's basically always a coupon code somewhere online. They carry the best self drying clay and sculpey, and they have a fabulous selection of cheap acrylic paints! And best of all is that the employees at this location are always kind and friendly, and happy to accept discount codes. read more

I visit this Michaels at least twice a month for event supplies. They have a wide variety of home or party decor items and craft supplies. There's literally always a sale on seasonal things. The new kiosk add to the efficiency of check out but a friendly associate is always around to assist as well. read more

Can't imagine who the other reviews were dealing with, but don't deal with custom framing. A couple hundred dollar job and I cannot get anyone to go through numbers with me even though I know the exact dimensions of the frame I want. Apparently, without bringing in the orint they cannot talk about any of the pricing options. Why would anybody come here? She's incredibly rude and act like I was an idiot, even though I very clearly can measure the same as she can. It's an original and clearly I won't trust this place to frame it read more

Was just harassed and profiled by the security for the was I look and I'm absolutely appalled. This store is one I've frequently used for years and this is absolutely unacceptable. I will not return unless they staff a professional security service. The "offcer" got in my face and said that he was told that they sent him over because they saw me stealing a "bottle of paint" then proceeded to insist I look at his social media showing that he had a million view that my art wasn't s***. Absolutely ridiculous read more

Gotta love a coupon. Michael's is a solid craft store for last minute needs for art projects. Organization is there and they have been clutch for some random items. Staff is always friendly and as a amateur crafter I always seem to have 1,000 questions. Solid spot for grab-n-go needs. read more

Michaels is my go to new favorite place. I've been using arts and crafts as an escape rather than how I normally de-stress (aka going out drinking). Every time I go, it's so organized and clean. The customer service is excellent! Today I had a representative asked me if I needed help, which I did not but he made small talk with me and said "look, we are kind of slow so if there's anything I can help you with please let me know." I thought that was very kind. They are also very inquisitive and often ask you during check out what you are making. Though I was slightly embarrassed the last time I was asked, it does make you feel special because of what you are doing and what you are creating. And that is the purpose to create art, however and by what ever method you so choose. I definitely recommend signing up to become a Michaels rewards member. You can redeem special deals and coupons just by punching in your phone number, and Michael's runs so many different specials and coupons, you can save a lot of money by strategizing your shopping trips. Today I went in with no coupons and I still saved over $10 so it's something I definitely recommend doing. Give it a try, come up with a project and just--do it! read more

Michaels - Stencils for petals you can cut from any paper and then assemble. Several flower styles available. Amazing. - Knitting Supplies Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Michaels is the best. They have the friendliest staff ever and everyone at this particular Michaels has been so helpful!!! They have everything you need from glitter to custom framing (although in this area I love Poets for framing more!), but they have it!!! The shopping center is super convenient and has lots of other great shops for staples like Five Below, Petco, and TJ Max. 5 stars, highly recommend for all your art/craft/quelling boredom needs. read more

Michaels - Knitting Supplies Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Still a fan of this Michaels, but I have not completely abandoned the Elmwood Michaels since I feel the farther location stocks more seasonal supplies and has more fun sale items. I've had a number of items framed at this location with the ridiculous 60% off 20% sale coupon that comes out a couple of times a year, which I have no idea how they factor. There's a gal there (can't remember her name) that is really helpful that will also help you make decisions if your texts are seemingly going into a blackhole instead of to your fellow decision makers. They can also show you what your print will look like with the mat and frame on their computer. They'll call when it's ready. With the coupon the price seems to still run between $150 - $400 (with multiple mats), but I've never been to a professional framing shop to know otherwise. Just ask them what the colored tabs on the frames mean price-wise so you don't end up pulling one of the more expensive ones and double check what the coupon covers. Other than that, I really enjoy some of the stationary they have going on right now including palms and flamingos, and scooped up some goodies with the 25% off entire cart including sale items, what-what? Can you tell I'm a sucker for some Michael's coupons? They are lacking in calligraphy supplies, and I tend to not be able to occasionally find some key things I need for my elaborate crafting, alas, there IS the internets. read more

I came here to pick up an online order. The girl that was helping me lacked mannerism. She literally asked 'you picking up?' No hi, hey, is anyone helping you. She went to the back, came back with my order, got my signature, and handed it to me. Working for retail is not the place to just give a 'just doing my job and get it over with' only attitude. Store is well stocked. Make sure to check for any online % coupon code off.. 90% of the time they have a 40%-50% off one regular item! read more

The store is well stocked and always clean and has a nice bakers section and a nice selection of paints and kid's crafts. The coloring books are very nice. What keeps me from giving more stars is that I'm new in town. I've been living in a city that only had a Hobby Lobby and I knew how to work the e-coupons. Here, I didn't bother to see if they did until I had already checked out and the woman behind me whipped out her iPhone. They were running a 40% off one regular priced item and 25% off entire purchase. I ended up coming back that same day to pick up a few things I was more certain about wanting and by then had wizened up. Hint for the business: if you had asked me if I knew about the online smart phone coupons rather than watch me spend $100 on coloring books for my nieces, I'd have been grateful and probably been glad to return. read more

I love this location! There was a fixture in the way of an area I was looking at... an associate came and moved it without even being asked! The store was extremely clean and easy to find the items I needed. The shopping center this Michael's was located had a Petsmart, TJ Maxx, Ross, and a few others! Great place for multiple errands! read more

4/5 convert y'all. i know amazon is taking over and a drone will deliver my next baby, but there's something about a big box store, aisle-wandering, and the "huh, they make that?" amazement that you just can't get rid of. and michael's is that, plus really friendly and want-to-be-helpful staff. this location is easy to get to and has ample parking. now, the key is to get on that coupon/app game. i've been frequenting lately to basically slowly get a bunch of things into frames, and i'm basically staggering as coupons and deals come about - it does make the task much more reasonable. and you know, if you're genuinely crafty, this is a fun place. get your glam glue gun and make it work! read more

Michaels - baskets have an extendable handle that turns it into a roller! - Knitting Supplies Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

OK, just picked up a framed piece of art I had done at Michael's. The frame came out looking fantastic! They did a great job

Sometimes have difficulty calling to ask questions, but Ariana was so nice and helpful in store today even with all the Mardi gras chaos

This is a pretty typical Michael's: they have arts and crafty things of all types. I usually buy colored markers and educational toys for kids, whenever I find myself invited to a kid's party. The games and craft things that they have for kids are not just fun, but educational as well and you are sure to find something for a child of any age. On this particular trip I stopped in because I am currently shopping around for a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera (say that 5 times fast), which is an instant film camera- basically a Polaroid camera (everything old is new again). I had heard that they carry them here, so when I found myself in the area, I decided to stop in. Well, they do have them, but they are a bit more expensive than I was seeing online elsewhere, so I decided to pass. They do also have the film for the Fujifilm Instax cameras, and a photographer friend mentioned that they frequently have film sales, so if/when I get my hands on one, no doubt this will be the place I stop for film. Now that the holidays are here, this is a good place to stop for all of your Christmas gift decorating as they have all kinds of little fun bows, stickers and baubles you can attach to your presents to make them a bit more interesting. read more

This place is an automatic winner in my book because of location and convenience. No more are the days of trekking out to Elmwood or the West Bank to get those last minute costume touches for Mardi Gras or that frame to go up on the wall. This isn't the biggest Michaels I've ever been in, but it's always had everything I've ever been looking for. Today I stumbled upon a buy one get one free poster frame deal! Perfect! A special note that there always seem to be plenty of helpful staff on hand who know exactly where to find anything. That is a major bonus for me in a store with so much packed in it! read more

I think today is the last day I will come here. I feel like I always come up short at this store, there just not a lot to select from and tonight staff was in the back conversing but there was no one to help me find what I was looking for. Which, of course, I did not find because the selection here is so limited. I just need a better craft store. read more

The staff are friendly and know a thing or two about the products that they sell. If you ask a question that they don't know the answer about, they will do their best to find it for you. They have expensive and moderately priced art supplies. You get what you pay for. I love coming here for Hallowe'en. The little trinkets they have out are fun. read more

I come here every now and then, but my wife lives this place lol! There are some things here I can see myself getting into craft wise, especially since I like to collect stuff and want things in frames. I also will be getting back into graphic design, and they have things to get those design ideas going. If you're into arts and crafts, plus have a creative mind, this place is really good for those ideas that pop in your head. read more

This Michaels is always super clean and very well-organized. Absolutely my favorite one to go to! The employees are always helpful and you can tell that they (mostly) enjoy their job. Their embroidery section is a little weak, but it's okay - the other Michaels around town makes up for it. But I absolutely love the atmosphere in this store specifically! read more

Big store, but horrible customer service. First of all it's very hard to find someone to help you and once you do, they treat you with an attitude. They obviously hate their jobs and shouldn't be in customer service. I definitely don't recommend going there if you are going to need assistance from an employee. I asked 2 different employees for assistance and even showed them a picture of what I was looking for and they both couldn't give me an answer if they sold it there or not. I know customer service is bad in NOLA but these employees were REAL bad! read more

I really wasn't politically prepared to go to Michael's, but I'll take convenience over politics any day. I mean, I didn't stop eating at Chic-fil-a or anything. SO we went here to get perler beads for my perler bead obsessed six year old and THANK GOODNESS they had them - and a huge selection of them. Saved us a trip over to Metairie and we were in and out. Super clean store and friendly staff. They did overcharge us for a sale item but quickly corrected it. read more

my experience at michaels was okay. i was looking for a frame and there were people in the frame department working. first, i asked a lady not in the frame department just to help me look for a specific frame but i had to look up the sizes on my phone first after i had gotten her attention. she quickly directed me to the people working in the frame department. the first girl she asked was too busy on the computer to help me but from what i was seeing she just didn't wanna get up from her chair because i didn't see her doing anything besides looking at a screen that was halfway filled out but not actually filling anything out. she was just kinda looking around.. (in my experience working in retail if your not helping another customer you should automatically be available for another customer). the other person working in the frame department was not wearing a mask at all and he was helping people. there were 3 people working in the frame department and the other 2 girls was wearing a mask and they didn't even seem to care that he was just dangling his on one of his ears.. like for real? as soon as i saw that i didn't want to ask him for help. i was going to ask the third girl but by that point i was over it. so, i started to look for the frame i was looking for on my own. didn't find what i was looking for.. i just bit my lip and asked the guy with the mask dangling from his ear. honestly, he was the only person in that department that was approachable. his vibe was just warm and i appreciated that. the only reason why i couldn't find what i was looking for because i needed special measurements that just had to be made. which is fine. overall my experience like i said was okay. i really wish the guy was wearing a mask especially during our interaction. although he was the best employee in my eyes. read more
