I have not found a way to edit how many dollar signs yelp gives to an establishment, which makes me think that the store itself is in charge of its price point on yelp. They are kind, patient (they need it with me -- I always want to look at all my options!), professional, accommodating, and VERY reasonably priced. I can't say enough nice things about them. I've gotten about 10 things framed there, and everything, from my Ladies' Choice posters (which is a downright STEAL) to my most prized painting, has turned out perfectly. I immediately knew I wanted to frame and hang it, and because of the character depicted - Catwoman - I had a couple of specific ideas regarding colors and frames. There are a couple of online custom frame stores, but they all lacked the right frame, mat, or both. Plus I realized I didn't want to try mounting the sketch myself and potentially damage it, so I went to Bywater Framing to see what they could do. I made an appointment online, which was easy enough. When I got there I told them I wanted a glossy black frame and purple mat. Not only did they have both, they had multiple options to choose from! I deferred to their judgement on how much mat to leave visible and think it was the right call. Speaking of leaving things to them, they recently started a "Framer's Choice" option. They say: "Bring us any art up to 16x20 and we will design and frame each piece for the flat rate of $70. We select the mat, moulding, glass type and display. We guarantee the final product will have a greater retail value and our best eye for design." If you want to get something framed by local professionals, but don't want to sell your kidney to do so and are flexible about the end result, this is a great idea. You could end up with something very fun or beautiful, and $70 is significantly cheaper than what I paid. Would I say they did a good job? In my inexperienced opinion, yes. Not cheap, but well done. If I have something else nice to get framed, I will consider coming back and doing "Framer's Choice."

I picked Frame City & Art Gallery at random because it was near my house. But what a delightful surprise! I'm really bad at colors, so Mr. Saito kindly suggested some frames & backgrounds that would make the shell art pop. He also gave me advice on where to buy natto, which is my favorite Japanese breakfast food! About 2 weeks later, Mrs. Saito cheerfully presented me with the finished product which is pictured below. So many nooks and crannies filled with excellent art supplies - from student/beginner level to premium artist grade. A lot of items were 10% off, some more of a discount so very affordable. The store is run by a wonderfully sweet couple and the staff is very knowledgeable. I heard a customer asking for something obscure and the staff took them right to it, told them how to use it and suggested other items too. You can get lost in the aisles and really get your creative juices flowing. Or come in for something specific. The aisles are very organized by type of product. If you need any art supplies, or even if you don't, this is a treasure and a must visit.

They do have quite a selection of home goods, furniture and decorations, but all of it is quite over priced in my opinion. There is a large shared parking lot, and the store is in the middle of a strip mall. Walking in, you are not greeted. The aisles are wide, with plenty of room to move around. In the back is an area where you can have someone frame a photo or artwork. They do have some kitsch, and they have a large selection of my favorite laundry additive, so I do have a place close to come for that. They have a large selection for crafting items of all types, and a selection of clearance items that are the better part of 2 aisles. They do not have much of a selection of local crafts, which is something I would like to see locally owned stores having, so that is disappointing. Most of the items are mass produced. It's nice to look at, but there are better values to be made elsewhere, even at the national chain stores.
