I have a friend who recently moved to a new place in another state who bemoaned the lack of affordable cool furniture, so she was stuck doing mail order and waiting for sales from places like Arhaus (which I love, don't get me wrong but it's way out of my budget) and Restoration Hardware (ditto). I was reminded of how lucky I am because whenever I need something, most recently a bathroom cabinet, I know I can come to Disco and find something beautiful and unique (also very often on sale! 50%!) But it's not just furniture. It's an art warehouse, much of it New Orleans-inspired so I often come here for gifts. I always know I can find something, whether wall art or a funky one of a kind lamp. Knobs for drawers and door handles (OK, probably not gifts). Candles. And cats (those aren't for sale). And the staff is always so helpful. On Friday the awesome gal working there helped us put our large cabinet on a dolly and to our car. I felt bad because it was a scorcher of a day and obviously it's a warehouse so no A/C in the main room. That's great customer service.

I purchased a custom Flexsteel Porter leather sectional from Doerr Furniture in New Orleans for…read moreapproximately $14,130. After delivery, I raised concerns about differences in fit, alignment, and appearance between an armless chair and recliner section. The delivery and installation team later explained that these differences are expected due to the design of the pieces. My concern was that this information was not discussed when I ordered the armless chair. Had it been, I would have selected the recliner instead. I did not request a discount or seek to return the sectional. My preference was to exchange the armless chair for a recliner, even at my own expense. Instead, I was offered either a discount in exchange for keeping the sectional as-is and waiving warranty coverage, or a full refund and return of the sectional. I was asked to make that decision within approximately 24 hours, with pickup scheduled within a few days. The delivery team did correct an issue with support feet that were not contacting the floor, and management later acknowledged there had been a miscommunication. While I chose to keep the sectional, I was disappointed that information which affected the final fit and appearance of the configuration was not communicated before I made my purchase decision.

We let them know. Being a leather sofa, the service agreement was with Natuzzi and not the store. Long story short, Hurwitz Mintz lived up to their reputation and stood by us and refunded us 100%. Their customer service team was always respectful and knew of the situation every time we called, and they never made us feel like we were "bad customers" and they always treated us with respect. We have shopped at Hurwitz Mintz on and off through the years and have always had a good experience with them. Our mattress is from there, from a purchase we made not too long ago, and other pieces of furniture throughout our home. I recommend Hurwitz Mintz for their selection of furniture and home accessories and Customer Service most of all.
