Many parts of the store are just a mess. Such a shame.

First, I do enjoy visiting At Home from time to time. I especially like to browse through the seasonal section. Their prices are fairly reasonable. There is ample parking and the store is very large. There were plenty of checkout lines open, which moved quickly. They have a wide variety of merchandise. My only complaint is the condition of certain sections of the store. Many areas are messy and disorganized. The experience would be so much better if it wasn't for that. I will continue to visit and check out the seasonal merchandise every so often.

I love this store, but with every single aisle looking like this??? I mean seriously???? This is just disgusting!

There's so much to look at and something that caters to the taste of every person's style. Whether you're a modern/eclectic or rustic country. Even nautical or boho chic, there's definitely plenty of decor and furnishings to liven up the crib (wait, do people still say crib?). This trip, I came for a big decorative house plant. Even though some were over priced, I found exactly what I needed. Plus a really cute boho lantern. And looks great in my home. FYI. At the end of seasons they have 50-75% mark downs.

I used to enjoy this store but i don't know if they changed managers or staff because now it is a HORRIBLE MESS! It is hard to enjoy shopping when everything is upside down, smushed and damaged. I took some pictures that i will post. We went shopping for canvas and it was horrible, everything was smushed and because of that, some paintings were damaged. I overheard other customers complaining and saying that a few months ago, it wasn't like that. Also, this was early on a saturday (probably around 12), so NO it wasn't that other customers made that mess. It's such a shame, hopefully they will fix this issue.

I thought previous reviews had caught the store on a bad day. Literally unable to navigate some aisles and many frames were damages

Incredibly cluttered and messy on some aisles. I thought previous pictures I saw might had caught the store on a bad day. Picture frames and pictures were EVERYWHERE

    Ahhhhhhhh love it alll!!!

So yes, walk in to the huge nursery but don't feel overwhelmed. There will be a well-informed employee there to help you. And you don't have to go hunting for them. Perino's is paradise at this time of year when most of our minds are geared towards making our outdoor spaces beautiful, even if in a month or two we will be hiding inside from the heat. Perino's has it all from annuals to perennials to shrubs to trees and everything in between. Yes, you're paying more for things than you will at HD or Lowes, but the quality is profoundly superior to what you'll get there (sidenote: it's depressing to see the wilting flora at the big box stores, clearly due to lack of watering. Then they put them on sale but c'mon). Perino's has sales at times, too. Proof of quality: I see in my last review 12 years ago that I mention buying a star jasmine vine. I still have that vine and it made it through two cross country moves!

I got a tip on River Road Flea Market from an acquaintance, who became an acquaintance because I was asking about where to get furniture. Of all the stores and spots she recommended, this was my favorite and definitely the best. It was a little difficult to find because their address online says the city's name is Jefferson and my GPS only recognizes Jefferson as a parish. Now I know it's in New Orleans city, and not all the far away at all. It's located literally right by the river, separated by a grassy bank and the levee. The building is HUGE. It's like a warehouse divided into little rooms, all of which are decorated with amazing antiques and thrifty finds for a fairly reasonable price (about 125 for a desk-sized table, 150 for a wardrobe or dresser). It's not the cheapest spot, but the quality of the merchandise makes up for it. They get most of their merchandise from estate sales, apparently, and the eclectic collection certainly reflects that. Several of the rooms are themed: jewelry, records, children's furniture and toys (there was an amazing vintage rocking chair that I would buy just to anticipate having children... except I'm not), books, etc. Outside in a small gated area, they sell specialty Mexican pottery, most of which is large and would be appropriate for a yard, and wrought iron benches and trellises. I purchased a vintage bracelet for $5, and I can't wait to go back and actually purchase furniture, once I'm moved in! Just don't beat me to it; there's a table and a bedframe that I've already got my eye on...
