I called Vernon Coin Center because I wanted someone to look at the lot and give me a bid to buy it. I spoke to Roger, and he asked me what kind of stuff I had. When I answered "Proof Sets", he kind of huffed and said sarcastically "Yeah of course you do". What he meant was that lots of people are looking to sell their seriously devalued Proof sets. Fastball at the knees - strike one. When I asked if I could have an appointment to come in and meet with him, he kind of got flustered and said "Hey, I'm running a business here, its hard to know when I'll be busy". So basically, I could come in and play it by ear. Fastball on the corner - strike two. When I arrived last week, he did spend some time with me and he was a lot nicer in person than he was on the phone. He gave me a lot of sound info on the coin collecting market and was very helpful with his advice. Bottom line? He wouldn't give me a price for my stuff unless I agreed that he would look through everything I brought in and I'd have to accept his resulting offer. It was like "if you are serious about selling this today, fine, but you have to sell it to me today." I didn't like this proposal at all and it seemed rather odd to me. I wasn't that desperate. So strike three for this odd policy was cancelled out by the sound advice he gave me. It's a big store with a ton of stuff, so if you are into coins, you'll enjoy visiting here.

The…read moreupstairs of this store houses a lot of model trains and they run the trains every first and third Sunday of the month. It's worth it to bring kids or any train aficionados to see it as it's entertaining and free. The main area of the store is the base level which houses all types of toys that you can imagine. I enjoy heading to this store whenever someone's kid is having a birthday or other special event because I can always find the perfect gift. In terms of pricing you will pay a little more for the same items that you can get at major stores like target or Walmart but I always would rather support a small business over the chain type stores. Time machine is just a good old school type toy store which makes you feel young again.

Pros: Quite large, many tables, separate room with excellent terrain tabletops for games like warmachine or warhammer, they have a good selection of board games to buy--not everything, but still a really good selection, they have a pretty good selection of warmachine/hordes stuff (niche market, I know), they also have used board games you can borrow and play at the store, and they have organized game nights, magic tournaments, warmachine leagues, etc. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They'll even let you sit at one of the tables and paint if you want (miniatures, I man, not portraits), good parking. Cons: Not much comes to mind. Their stock is fair as far as board games and miniatures go. I've seen better (but not much better); they're definitely well above average.

It is similar to Retro Junk and rivals that of sister store called Retro Junk (also on Rte. 83 in Manchester along downtown Main Street). There's an impressive but moderate collection of VHS tapes for movie buffs as well as dedicated collections of Toy Story memorabilia and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff, Disney vinyls and many more. Who could forget arcades and demo stations? They have 'em here. You can also find controllers and consoles for video games right here. I found two unique GameCube controllers including the one I used growing up. I didn't find Sonic games but I did find a game called Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (spinoff of Sonic series) when I was a kid. They also sell Goosebumps books too. My only problem is they don't have as many DVDs to sell as Retro Junk. I truly get it's a small space for a retro store itself. The people who work there are cool people especially owner Cruz (nice guy who is friends with owner of Retro Junk). I had a chance to talk with the owner for quite a while about games and other interests. Games are somewhat pricey but for a modest selection, it's worth browsing especially if you're into video gaming. I'll be back soon as if I frequently this store more or less often depending on whenever stuff gets replenished with new arrivals. New stuff comes out once in a while.

Most of the time I can find what I need. The guys that work there are mostly kids or young men and women and usually don't know anything about electronics so you have to be prepared when you go in. I think radio shack has become mostly about selling cell phones so it's not like it used to be. I hear that Radio Shack headquarters is going to have to close a few hundred stores so I'm hoping this won't be one of them. It has served me well for many years. I miss the old days when they had the battery club. LOL They gave you a card for free and you could pick out one free battery a month. They would punch the card each time you picked one up. I used to get a free 9 volt every month.

She was awesome!!, took care of everyone of my friends and family members when they need any electronic device or accessories. She is now a manager close to her home of New York, of which she will be greatly missed. So now I have made friends with a sales associate named Kyle. As young as he is, to me he is the male version of Victoria. Took great care of my mom when she got her iPhone 6 upgrade. According to my mom even though the store was busy he took care of her and the customers. Showing her how to work the phone. Oh boy now my mom is the texting queen, Selfies and all! Yikes!! Radio shack is still my favorite store for all me electronic accessories and phone upgrades.
