Rode way over to this side of town because the Town Center was nothing to mess with. I'm glad I did. Even though it was still busy with people probably having the same idea I did, Parking and navigating the store was pretty easy to do. I just needed some plumeria and poinsettia artificial flowers which were 40-50% off. I bought all they had left. I also found some Xmas gifts for a reasonable price. A tremendous and I do want to emphasize tremendous shout out and thank you to Janet in Framing. She was extremely patient, knowledgeable, creative, and helpful in designing the frame and matting for a piece of artwork that a friend did for me. I explained to Janet upfront I am probably the least creative person that ever walked this earth and within five minutes came up with a design that was perfect. It was as if she read me and knew what I liked!! She was pleasant, professional, maintained a smile the entire time. She was not sitting in judgment of my lack of creativity either instead truly made me feel valued. I have always enjoyed going to Michaels for all my crafting needs, seasonal ideas and help with projects I'm stuck on. It is a smaller store then other Michaels but I can't imagine it is not one of the busiest! I purchase different paints, beads, photo albums, stickers, gift bags, different cake pans, candles, wood items, yarns and urethane sprays to protect my finished item; to name a few things. It seems at times they need help because especially lately I can't seem to find anyone in the aisles to help and there can be long lines to check out! read more

I have been coming here for years to get my canvases matted and framed. Yesterday wgen I went in, the lady said they are only doing the custom wrap. Meaning , you pick the frame from the pieces on the wall. Hmmm, little expensive. I started to pick a mat from the store stock, . No, we can only use the custom mat , again .. from the wall. I do alot of canvases and I have never had anything happen to them, falling off the wall, etc. Due to the higher cost, I chose to go to another store close by. It was cheaper and the person did the matting and framing while I waited 20-30 minutes. Not bad. I guess from now on , I will only go in this store if I have to. It's really sad , I loved coming in here, the ladies know me, what I like, etc. read more

This was my 3rd visit- previous 2 times I was hunting specific items and going to multiple stores to get enough and was able to call ahead to put items on hold to pick up. This time we were just passing by and I had some coupons I had to use that day. Unfortunately- the items I was hoping to get, they didn't have in stock. I am waiting with baited breath for all things Halloween. The Michael's closer to home already has some things in stock and I had my eye on something. I did find some clearance scissors- which I broke one pair recently and John lost a pair- so this was a win win! And I didn't make it through the line gauntlet without spotting Bob Ross tin of mints- and yes, I was a sucker. Coupons do not work on clearance or food (or books, everyday deals and some select brands like Cricut- unless specifically specified). I know this from previously working for Michaels. Lines were long, but by the time I made it to the registers they managed to have 4 people manning the registers, there were only 2 when I got in line. There is currently a ton of clearance items throughout the store- and empty shelves hopefully waiting for seasonal items. While I didn't find any Halloween stuff at this location, Michael's is always a great place to get your crafting supplies. read more

I'm disappointed in Michael's brought a bat costume for my car and it was not worth the money I paid for it the wings did not stand out and the ears did not stand up it was a mess the sticks that was in it to hold the wings up were broken and when we put the wire in the wings they still would not stand up all I can say is that it was a mess junk and yes I did order it on line. read more

i come here A LOT so this is not a one time occurrence, but every single time they the longest check out line, only ever one person at the register. Like they are always understaffed--can never find someone to help you. It's kinda dark and ding. I come here because it's nearby and convenient but I always end up leaving unhappy about something. I have been going to this Michael's since they opened many years ago and have always gotten good and kind service until today. Lilly who checked me out, charged me twice for an item (a mistake an of us could make) but she was so unbelievable rude, speaking down to me and telling me to go to the end of the line and then she take care of it. What a terrible way to represent Michael's. I then waited for someone else's line to correct the mistake so that I didn't experience that again. read more

Michael's is a great place for craft ideas as well as decorative items for the home and custom framing. I personally love to get my photo and artwork frames here since they have such an awesome selection. You can find pretty much any size you need and in any color or design. I tend to go for wooden frames and have found natural wood, painted wood and distressed wood. They have an app where there are usually coupons with up to 50% off which I usually take advantage of. You can also go to their website and print them out. This store while having a lot of food items does seem oddly arranged to me and seems dirty and disorganized which is why I have deducted a star. I can usually find what I want but it can be a hunt and I have never been offered help by the employees which is why I deducted another star. Even when I go to find an employee they usually just point to a general direction of the store and I am off on the hunt again. I do like the location of this store being off San Jose and close to so many other items, it makes running errands easier. read more

As an event planner, I rely on Michael's and a few other craft stores to get my supplies, with as many coupons I can, of course, on a teeny tiny budget. I really forgot this location was here.... until we were in the area, and had a few minutes to kill before our next meeting. This location seems just the same as your typical Michael's experience... so it's been pretty consistent for me, which is exactly what you look for in a chain, right? This visit, we were looking for some pretty specific paper for invitations, and while we didn't find it here, we did pick up a few other things we needed, at a great price. My journey with the custom framing department begins in October and ends in December. Now if that does not tell you something went wrong then let me spell it out for you. All I wanted was a frame with a basic matte for a painting I got from a close family friend. Its pretty straight forward or so I thought.......Lets start with what I think is a simple thing, the matte. It took them 3 times to cut a matte correctly. That's right 3 times! Every single time there was a cut too long on one of the corners. Now you would think they would catch this during their inspection before calling the customer to say its ready but NOPE they don't. Funny thing is that when I brought it up to their attention they totally agreed with me. Are you kidding me? Am I being Punked right now? Where is Ashton? Just cut the matte the right way. Its that simple! Then they line the back of the frame with a paper cover. Again you think pretty simple, all you do is cut a piece of paper the same size as the frame. Never got it right. I just fixed it when I got home because to really ask them once again to fix something was just too much at this point. Then there was the frame. It took them 5 times on 3 different frame styles to get it right. For some crazy reason they could not get the corners to match. If you can't do that then why even have the frame styles available? They tried 3 times with the first frame style, once with the second, and then they got it right on the third frame selection I made. Even with a 60% coupon for the price they charge there is just NOOOOOOOO excuse for the wasted time and lack of basic workmanship. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN PERIOD!!!!! read more

I won't mention who but I honestly prefer a couple of other craft stores. But unfortunately they're not in my immediate area. So when it comes to art projects for school, DIY, or crafty stuff in a pinch this is where we go. Michael's does have awesome holiday items. As far as the rest of the store you got your usual items scrapbooking supplies, paint, picture frames, and your beads. There are some things at that location they just don't carry. And I have to go to different stores. It's a bit of a smaller location. Also some of the items are a bit pricier. Depending on the time of day you come customer service is mixed. If you go during the day this staff is really nice and the afternoon they tend not to care so much. They do have things I can't find at other stores like the specialty items for different occasions such as breast cancer awareness month. And also they have amazing grab bags. My kids and I always buy four or five of these at a time. They are Michael's shopping bags labeled for five dollars a bag. They're labeled accordingly what's inside stuffed full of items and tied shut. It's amazing because you have no idea what you get until you get home it's like buying a mystery present. Some of the ones we gotten before where scrapbooking, painting, jewerly, and colored duct tape. Go find them next time you go visit their upfront by the registers. read more

Every time I go into this Michaels the store is hot, dirty and the staff really could not care less about the customers. This past Saturday, I stopped in for a few items on my way home -- literally a five-minute trip. While I was in line to pay, the cashier made four disparaging remarks about the customers in less than one minute. He started off by announcing to everyone that in less than two minutes he could leave, then he told everyone he just could not take one more human being today, then he told everyone HE. COULD. NOT. EVEN. and then he told his relief cashier that, "Girl, I cannot wait to tell you all the feelings I am feeling right now." At that point, I stepped in and told him to keep his feelings to himself and just do his job. Never again, Michaels, never again. Not that store, not any other. I am done. read more
