They're never open. You can do curbside but how do you know what's in the store? You can't touch and select yarn or look through kits or products curbside. It used to be so much fun to go in and look around and choose something new. read more

I can see from other reviews that what I experienced today was not unusual. The window had nice canvases, but I too was met at the door by a man that blocked any view of the store with his body. He said they had a computer crash and everything was on the floor so I couldn't come in. If you are not going have in-store shopping, why do you list your opened days and hours? I drove a distance to shop, based on the Yelp information from October 2025. Seems a bit shady. I hope that everyone is well in the shop. Never should be listed as a Yelp top 10 if you use yelp as a guide for things to do when traveling. read more

First, I am not one the usually leaves reviews let alone negative ones. I used to needlepoint years ago and decided I wanted to start doing it again. I try to support local stores so I looked to see if this store was still open. I was happy to see they were, I loved going there in the past. Looked on line saw they opened at 1:00. It was almost 1:30 when I arrived. Lights on, door locked. I started to leave when someone came out to tell me they were "trying" to open. You can see all of their products hanging on their racks ready for people to look through in the windows, obviously someone was there to work and you can't let me come in to start looking while you, I guess open your register? Sad to say but in this situation, online is where I will be making my purchases. read more

Recently, I started to work on a complicated needlepoint canvas that I had bought many years ago. I was doing it to honor my dear sister, who I lost this year. Susan, the owner of Stitch in time, spent hours over a period of three visits to help me choose just the right colors to bring the woodland creatures to life on canvas. She was meticulous in teaching me how to apply the seed beads to make the berries on the canvas stand out so well. While it was inconvenient to not be able to go inside and choose, Susan and her husband, Greg more than made up for this by their kindness and caring attention. I had bought the canvas at their shop many years ago before I retired. Susan was able to point out the history of the artist and the canvas , of which I had been unaware. This made it really special. I feel so blessed to have Stitch in time shop locally. I could've not gotten this kind of support and help choosing the multitude of colors from a shop online. I also use their service for finishing a floral, needlepoint, frog, and was delighted with the results.. Much thanks and gratitude go to Susan and Greg. Times were not posted so we called the day before. Were told what times they are open. We went the next day and were met at the door by an older man who wouldn't let us in! Said we had to tell him what we wanted and he would bring it to us! I am traveling thru just visiting other needlepoint shops and like to see and buy around the country! Wow! This place is huge and with an unbelievable humongous inventory. A friend asked me to get something for her so I stopped by and was surprised how much there was there and the variety. Justin, the gentleman who was working was Most helpful and explained things to me so that I could understand. I was very impressed with the high level of customer service. read more

I'm not sure this place is open. I tried visiting a couple of days ago and while the front door was open no one responded. I make custom rugs, and here in Jax there aren't enough sources for yarn locally... I frequent Michaels and Joanns, but the colors and fibers are very limited. A Stitch in Time has helped me more than I could begin to explain! I needed wool yarn and they helped to source the best yarn for my project. They have been extremely helpful in many ways, and the communication and customer service speaks volumes! I can't thank them enough... hopefully this review will serve as a measure of my gratitude! I would HIGHLY recommend you check out there shop where I'm sure you will find all of your fiber needs! read more

This place is a joke. Jacksonville is in dire need of locally owned craft stores and so I was very excited to hear about this store. I had heard wonderful things but noticed that on the website, they were doing curbside only/closed for refurbishment or something like that. That was about a year ago. I kept checking back but the website stayed the same. I saw some recent good reviews so I assumed it was open again. Nope. I stopped by today and the front door was locked. There was a man inside who I was able to flag down and he came to the door. He wasn't able to give my mom and I a straight answer and sort of said that they are "closed for construction" and are only doing curbside pick-up. Still? It's been longer than a year now. Maybe more. We asked when they would open back up and he again wasn't really able to give a straight answer. He said maybe in the next week or so. I called total bull. Something was very very sketchy about the entire experience. How come the website hasn't been updated in what seems like years? It's said the same thing for too long now. I was able to see the inside of the store through some windows and didn't see any construction equipment or anything similar. However the store is stocked full of products that they sell. What is going on here? I was very disappointed and I again am also super skeptical of the owner/owners here. Somethings not right. I really hope that someone will bring a speciality yarn and craft equipment boutique here in Jax one day. I'm sure it would do it wonderful here. read more

Fantastic yarn shop with many choices and lots of inventory. I have been introduced to a few new yarns that I would never have know about - and now have become favorites of mine. Phenomenal! This place was great. My friend and I are intermediate knitters and wanted to know where we could buy some hanks of yarn and we were recommend this place by a very kind employee at Joann's. It's a cozy, little, yellow, two story house, the kind that you see in cartoons or movies. When we went in we were greeted by all the owner, who was willing to drop everything she was doing just to assist us. They didn't follow us around or even make us feel uncomfortable by persuading us to purchase something. All employees had a very strong knowledge for the different types of yarns, needles, crafts, etc. and were happy to help us. The ONLY negative aspect of the store is the prices. The store carries only the finest quality yarn and tools to help get you started with needlework projects so certain things were kind of pricey. For instance, a certain ball of wool blend variegated sock yarn that was 720 something yards can cost you around eight dollars. Other than that, everything's perfect. read more

Absolute treasure! While visiting my daughter I ran out of knitting projects. We visited A Stitch in Time. The shop has a fantastic variety of knitting, needlepoint and cross stitch. Both of the staff who helped us went out of their way, one went upstairs to check if they had a bamboo needle in the size I needed, yes, they did. And they offered to wind all our skeins of yarn, super helpful if you are traveling. Highly recommend. read more

As a new knitter I wanted to purchase a full set of interchangeable circular needles so I can work on various projects as I advance my skill. Found this little gem of a store through websearching and was not disappointed! I requested a special order, and they found what I wanted and ordered right away. When it came in I was promptly called. The owner even let me try them out before buying to make sure they were just right for me. I'll be going back to order another set very soon, along with some yarn i saw that I believe was custom made. read more

I recently finished a needlepoint stocking that my mother started before she passed away. I had not done needlepoint in years, but wanted to finish it for my grandaughter. Once completed I was overwhelmed with the thought of how to put it together. After some online research I came across A Stitch in Time who offers finishing services and soon after made the hour 1 hour drive to the shop. I dropped off my stocking with a few yards of my chosen lining, picked out a red velevet backing and cording. Although I did attempt my own blocking I asked for that to be included as well. 4 weeks and 1 Hurricane Irma later I got the call that the stocking was completed and ready for pick up. I was so pleasantly surpirsed at how nice it came out! The person who put it together made my "rough" needlework look perfect!!! She is awesome! My mother would be happy and I can not wait to give it to my granddaughter! THANK YOU A Stitch in Time! When I picked up the stocking I spent some time poking around and the store inventory is plentiful and is like looking thru art work! I picked up a few cross stitch ornament kits to keep me busy, but will soon be back for something bigger! If you enjoy needle/yarn work, put this shop on your list of "must visit"! read more

Most fabulous store anywhere! They have everything you would ever need and are the nicest people anywhere! They even changed my tire when I had a flat tire in the driveway!
