I went looking around at the Fall section and could not find it. So, I decided to ask a Michael's Associate. She told me right away where they had it and showed me where they were. It was the last set of Pumpkins and it was 50% off! I also had a Michael's Reward Voucher. So, I got it for free99! I told the Michaels Associate how thankful I was for help she smiled and I left. There is one really nice, over the top happy, gentleman that works there and there there's one really not friendly middle aged woman that I almost turn around and leave if she's working. I don't like how she treats the other employees at all. After one incident my wife asked him if he was ok & his response was "I'm use to it" that really upset me. Our go to store for all things crafts, and my wife does a lot of crafts around the house. Today we stopped in for an odd product that is harder to find, puzzles. Now it's not a craft, this it is a home project of sorts that a family can enjoy. Their selection was big, but they did have some. We weren't to disappointed about it, as we know this is mainly a craft store and not a game store. For the crafts, it usually has what my wife is looking for. I guess I'll just cut straight to the point. Michael's is an arts and craft store that houses plenty of cute crafty items for purchase. I recently visited this location with the Hubbs to pick up a few items. This location had more items stocked on the shelves than other locations. The service here was okay. The merchandise was all in tact, in one piece, and didn't look like it had been tampered with. Overall, this location is decent, huge, and has plenty of crafty merchandise to select from. read more

Michael's has been my go to for almost all crafts for going on more than 20 years. My mom took my when it was Mj Designs as a kid and Michael's Mj Designs. I'm vintage. I know their layout, prices, what they carry and don't carry and was even an employee in my early 20's. I am an avid shopper. Yesterday I went in, a Sunday knowing full well what I needed would be there and plenty to choose from. Note I haven't been to Michael's in a bit. I figured I'd be in for MAYBE 10 minutes, get what I know is there and jet with my other errands. No, quite the contrary. To my surprise, the ENTIRE planner section is gone...I MEAN GONE! Not a happy planner or 365 or anything calendar related even in the entire store!! What is going on here?? There used to be an entire aisle both sides dedicated to planners. They have an ENTIRE section of paper crafts but no planners or calendars? I even asked an associate and she seemed confused that I hadn't already seen the section. She escorted me over and it was literally an end cap. An END CAP with left over journals and 2 mo planners (what even is that?). I also needed map pencils (the youngins' call them colored pencils), found those and went to the front. As I'm standing in line I realize...there's only 1 clerk line and the rest are SELF CHECKOUT?! What universe is this?? I refused to even look at the new machines and waited my turn behind the other customer in line with the clerk. I was SO disappointed in the entire process, I went to Joanns fabrics and just perused their planner aisle...practically getting intoxicated on their selection and talked to the people as I checked out. I highly doubt I'll be returning to Michael's sadly and will most likely be getting my items at other crafts stores. Sad, sad. read more

I love this Michael's. It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. I've wandered in on a couple of different occasions, looking for different things and been pleasantly surprised each time. My first visit I came one day after work just poking around to see what I could find and ended up finding a really cute storage box for all of the educational love notes, thank yous, and other mementos that I've received from students and coworkers over the years. The boxes were a great size and more importantly a great price. The store is always on sale! My most recent visit was to find a Christmas/holiday wreath for my front door at home. That should be no challenge at Michaels or any number of stores but I specifically chose Michaels because I knew that they would have wreaths on sale. And of course they did. Now did I expect for wreaths to be half off on Black Friday? No, but I certainly appreciate the discount! Then to add on to the fabulous discounts, I always receive an additional 15% discount on top of whatever discounts are given due to my status as an educator. Michaels, thank you for recognizing me as an educator who often spends waaaayyyy too much money on my classroom and other people and cutting me some slack by hooking me up with a discount on those things and more. I've never had an issue with rude employees or low stock. This store is just as fabulous as the discounts and deals they offer. read more

Did an online order for two frames. The order was ready the following morning (Sunday) so I decided to pick them up. The girl who worked in the online order pickup/custom frames area was rude. Janelle was helping someone else when I came by and didn't acknowledge me until 5 minutes later and greets me with a rude "did you need something" I was a bit shocked as I thought why else would I be standing back here. Anyways I told her I had an online pickup and gave her my last name like she asked. She then goes back to helping the lady. I'm totally find waiting but she didn't even care to say I'll be right with you or I get this may take a while did you want to shop for a few minutes then come back. I waited over 10 more minutes as she answered the customers question. When she got to me she was short, couldn't even pretend to smile, or even care to help me with my one question. During my wait time I noticed that the frame I ordered was mark down even more and if I could get the difference, Janelle with no hesitation said "I don't know how much you paid" and shrugged. I was shocked cause she didn't even attempt to do anything to try to check even though I had my email confirmation with pricing details. I just simply asked her to scan the frame and it was indeed cheaper but instead of dealing with her I wanted to get hell elsewhere. I went to the front. The line was long. I didn't want to waste another 10 minutes waiting so I decided to leave and calm the store to speak with the manager. I was on hold for over ten minutes it beeped but no one got on to check up on me, get a call back number or anything. Let's just say I will not be coming back to this terrible customer service. Hobby lobby is right across the street and although they aren't open Sunday's I would rather wait to have better service then to be treated like crap. Janelle- please get another job. I've been in here a few times looking for things and I've been impressed with the business model. Apparently, a store can function without employees. They must be immensely efficient since there's not one to be found. The selection is about what could be expected but if you don't know where to find something, you will have the added adventure of strolling the aisles on a quest to find what you're looking for. Been coming to Michael's for a long time, use to be MJ's design back in the day. Over all it's a clean store, with different sales going all year long. Different every week and don't forgot to sign up for there news letters to get offers usually a 40% off one single item. But if you don't want you e-mail box full of emails when you pay, you'll get a 40% or coupon valid for the following week. You'll find everything from scrapbooking, wood burning, flower arrangements, canvas to paint and much more. Not everybody does it but they do have a clearance location and open items here for 40-70% items. Make sure you check open items cause at times they are broken or missing parts and aren't returnable. If you think your Michael's is special check other locations. I found out different location have the same but others have more selection on different items. This location is great, staff is friend and have gone beyond their duties to check if they have extra stock or items in back in warehouse or called other location for stock for me to pick up. They are not afraid to open extra cashier lanes if line is getting busy. Let your creative mind go!! read more

oh if i counted the ways in which i love this store, i'd bore you to death. always come here to find everything i need when i am feeling creative. Best to have an idea of what you need prior to going because the lines are always crazy. Never a dull moment here and always fun to chat up the people in line with you to see what they are working on. The custom framing coupons are the best and well worth the wait if you have a job for them to do. I went into this store looking for some boxes for gift wrapping and some InstaxSquare film. I found the boxes easily, and then had some trouble finding the film. I approached a worker and asked if they had any. This was the only nice worker I encountered for the rest of my trip. She informed me that she wasn't sure because she doesn't work at this store, but promptly got on headset and tried to figure it out. She then told me that the store was out, but once I went to check out, the person at the register would be happy to help me call the next store and put the item on hold for me. I thanked her, walked to the front and waited to check out. I went up to the cashier once she was done sorting some items, and tried to be friendly, but she was too busy talking to the other cashier to talk to me. I then felt that I had to interrupt their conversation to ask if she would call the next store and place an item aside for me. She said "I'm new and I don't know how to do that, ask her." I can understand being new, and I've been in that position myself before, but she obviously didn't care to help me at all. Then she said to the other girl "I'm clocking out, bye." And didn't even pass on my request. I then waited again for the next cashier to finish with their customer and walked up, asking if someone could put an item on hold for me at the next store. She said "I'm busy with customers in line right now, but I'll call someone to help" I appreciated this but the cashier then shooed me aside and told the next person to come forward. After about 2 minutes wait, a pregnant woman, who I'm assuming is the manager since she wasn't in uniform came up to the front. I explained once again that I was looking for a particular product and asked if she could call the next store to set it aside for me. This woman then told me, while walking around and doing other things, that since they didn't have the item in store, it would be completely useless for her to call another store because she doesn't have the item number. It was very clear that I was just a problem to the entire staff besides the first young woman who was good at customer service. They didn't care what my problem was so I told the woman that I would just call on my own then, and to have a great day. I grabbed my things and walked out of the store, feeling more like a problem than a customer. read more

But for my situation, I called ahead of time because I was specifically looking for red gemstones/rhinestones and I clarified exactly what I was looking for and they told me they had them. I arrive and they act like they don't know what I'm talking about and say they never answered a call about specifically what I was looking for. Never get anything framed at this location. The employees are the rudest and most condescending people I've ever interacted with at any Michaels. I brought in a frame that I already had glass with and just asked them to simply add a wire backing so I could hang the frame. I was charged $26 for something no doubt took 5 minutes and told it would take 2 days. When I picked it up I enquired about the price to another employee in the framing department, she was incredibly rude and the only answer she could give was "it takes time for us to do these things". News flash honey, my brother is a framer for Aaron Brother's, it takes minutes. Not to mention, they didn't even do what I had asked! They put hooks on each side that make it incredibly hard to hang straight without having to take exact measurements and added some acid free backing I didn't ask for. My advice, if you're going to use over priced corporate a**holes like Michaels. Go to the one off Carroll. The employees are professional and treat you like a human being. I'll be contacting corporate as well, though I'm sure it wont make a bit of difference. If zero stars was an option, I'd of used it. read more
