It might be wise to have a chat with the woman who works in the frame section. I approached her to ask where I could find something. She ignored me while her entire focus was on her phone. When I finally got her attention and asked where I would find the article I was looking for she couldn't even answer but just pointed. Great customer service. When it comes to framing I usually think that Michael's has the market kind of cornered but it's time to try some other (non-big name) shops after my recent experience. I needed some very simple mating for two prints (really nothing fancy, just basic) and had them made. Much to my dismay, upon getting them home, one fit and the other didn't. I returned to the store to have the issue fixed. The guy was nice about it and even agreed to mount and insert into the (very cheap) frames I already had given the mistake. But then things took a turn for the worse... A week went by and I heard nothing. Returning to the store, I happened to be in the area, I chatted with the framing department and, ultimately, the manager (?) - escalation on their side, not mine - and he was not very pleasant. In fact, he was down right combative and in-my-face about the fact that the work was not done and that I should simply wait for a call. Long story short, I did get a call and ultimately picked up my pieces - they look great by the way! So I'll chalk this one up to a stressful time of year and (other... :) ) frustrating customers. read more

Went in to get change. Asked if it was possible- very willing to buy something for it. Told I had to spend 10 dollars to break a 20. Just wanted 2 fives and a ten. No wonder this store has poor reviews. Manager on duty needs some customer training. If you are looking for a pleasant experience where the customer matters- don't shop here! read more

I need to drop a great review for the young lady manning your registers and generally the front of the house she's an absolute asset! When I entered the store I heard her addressing everyone who entered your store with a wonderful attitude! I hadn't even engaged her yet but I was impressed! Helpful, but not aggressive. I found myself finding her positive , helpful attitude such an absolute anomaly in today's shopping experience! Almost every time I shop anywhere the customer service is garbage. Maddening actually not at your store! Robin at the front of your store was amazing positive, answered all my questions and simultaneously continued to help all that needed it in the checkout line!! I was amazed at her attitude and efficiency! In a world where brick and mortars are fighting for their lives she is a star! So please know I do not know this woman, I have no connection I just need smart, kind, courteous people like her acknowledged and valued! Great job Robin! worst experience possible with the framing studio. not only where they unorganized and slow but when my art ( an original painting done by my farther) finally came back the frame was extremely bowed which was clearly visible with the naked eye. there were 2 signatures of who made it ( ERIC) and someone who was supposedly doing then"quality control" . as I lost all faith in them I asked them to take it off the frame so I could bring it somehwere else. it took 3 days to get it back and was extremely damaged with holes and rips everywhere . it because very clear that they have no business framing art. No apology, no acknowledgment, just pure incompetence . Please don't ever bring anything there that you care about. read more

Staffing shortages made for a less than desirable visit to Michael's this weekend. I've visited to purchase one item, spray paint and a grass green tone, and upon arriving I learned that the spray paint is locked up in a cabinet and you have to press the button for help. I did so and waited 20 minutes while watching a heavyset woman with a smock, walk by several times avoiding eye contact while I waited. Eventually, I called out and a guy in frames came over and helped. They were two cashiers but no one on the floor. Hard to believe, it took 25 min of waiting and 35 min total to purchase a $3.99 can of paint. When I was asked at check out if I found everything ok, I shared the long wait did help by the paint cabinet even though the store was pretty empty and the response received was dirty about that, hope you have a better rest of your day. I took my grandsons here for a wreath making class. I can't say enough good things about the people that work at this store. My grandson's are 4, 8, and 10. I am not very crafty. When we first came in, I asked if they could assist us in making the wreath. Even though there were lots of other people there, I felt like we were getting lots of attention. And it wasn't just us! They were giving assistance to each person in the class. Kudos to management. Do have the perfect people working in the classroom. It's this type of experience that will keep me coming back to the store. The boys had a wonderful gift to give to their parents. I may just come back and make one for myself. read more

Talk about a ton of stuff packed under one roof. They make the most of their space that's for sure. Went in for one small item and tried to keep the focus on finding that and not getting to distracted with all the cool stuff there. Went on a Saturday right after Black Friday so it was busy bit they had all but one register opened so they were ready for the holiday season Store was clean and organized. Seemed to be really well stocked for the holidays. It was a pretty painless experience which holiday time seems to be extremes sometimes. Some feeling happy and thankful others mad about not finding something, long lines, and just not happy in life itself. read more

I went shopping for some bulletin board supplies - which unfortunately Michaels doesn't carry after the school year has begun. The staff really made the trip enjoyable though. for starters god bless the one girl in there actually doing her job i appreciate you actually running inventory and walking around to help customers. everyone else in there needs to get it together, was straight up told "i dont know" when i asked for an item with no additional help (didnt look up the item on any device or walkie to another employee) by whoever was working the one actual register they still have. yep one register now all the rest are the super buggy monitor self checkouts that always think your stealing so someone has to be on call to fix them thus defeating the purpose of the self checkout (which i know is the fault of corprate but still). Also the selection now is horrible. I needed eyelets and they had one size, and wooden beads maybe 3 different sizes. micheals used to be so cool but god it has gone down hill. read more

I went to Michaels to get in inexpensive poster (16x20) framed for my son as a Christmas present. An hour earlier I had stopped at Hobby Lobby to get an estimate. They quoted me $54. I asked Michaels assistant manager Robin for an estimate. She presented a lot of "attitude " and really didn't seem to want to help me, stating that without the poster it was very difficult to provide an estimate, but if I had to have one, she guessed it would be around $400. I couldn't believe it and asked if she was kidding. No, she wasn't, there are a lot of variables that go into this. She never bother to ask for more detail on MY project. On parting she said something like "sorry I couldn't help you sweetie " I'm a guy, I am not this woman's "sweetie" Spoke to her manager the next day. I had a receipt for an item that didn't end up working out and she wouldn't let me return, or do store credit, or figure out any sort of compromise. My mission: to purchase 7 gifts for my all-female office... gifts within the $10 range. I have been working in this office now for almost a year, and I have a pretty good idea of what everyone likes/dislikes. One of the women has a hobby of knitting outside of work, so I thought of buying her a gift card from Michaels. I also remembered that there are all kinds of things here too you can buy that have initials already on them (mugs, pads of paper, etc.) so there was a good chance I could purchase 7 of the same thing for everyone. I had to stop in Bed, Bath, & Beyond anyway so I stopped in for some ideas...I ended up walking out with a number of "initial" items, but no gift card...I was able to purchase a way more personal gift for my co-workers after stopping in here. I was just mad I didn't have a coupon, because you can usually score one in the Sunday newspaper! All of the ornaments (some too, personalized with an initial) were 50% off, nice ornaments too...lots of other Christmas items like wrapping paper and gift bags were on sale too. I'm glad I stopped in here. If you're into crafting, need supplies for a wedding...or just a unique gift, I suggest checking this store out. I told my mom they have a HUGE display of Adult Coloring Books too, her and my sister are very into using those these days. Only "odd" situation when checking out ... the cashier asked if she should put my basket away. Well, I wasn't going to take it with me, and I've worked in retail before...that's just a THING you do as a cashier, you take the customer's basket!!! It wasn't crowded...putting those baskets back on the pile by the door gives you something to do, right?! Cart...ok, no but basket, yes - you don't ask them... although I'd probably put it back on my way out, odds are you won't find many customers who do this. read more

I like this newer Michael's location however I feel the selection is lacking compared to other nearby stores. The paper selection looks to be about half of what other locations offer. There are many open stock scrapbook pages completely unavailable here. The selection of everything seems to just be a little less than I'm used to seeing. Every time I pop in the store looks almost pristine, everything in it's place and neatly organized. The staff seem to be friendly and willing to help. I won't be coming here much just based on the lack of paper selection. read more

They were so helpful, knowledgeable and took an interest in getting the results I wanted when framing 2 of my watercolor paintings. I am a crafting extraordinaire. So I love me some Michael's. This store was clean and organized! It's a much smaller Michaels then I am used to but they still carry pretty much everything you need. The staff was so polite, I was asked several times if I needed any help. Checkout was also smooth, I wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped us, he was fantastic. :) as always I left with more then I needed to begin with! Either the staff are all over worked or hate their jobs. All were rude and not helpful. Even when my husband and I found what we were looking for the woman checking out was rude and argued that someone else would have to ring us up because she had enough of the register and needed a break. I will continue to visit michaels but will go out of my way to visit a different location from this point forward. read more

This Michaels is my favorite location. They have a huge selection and are organized. It's easy to get overwhelmed when going into a craft store. I mean, how many picture frame options and wooden boxes does one really need? I digress. This location is a decent size and usually has multiple employees on the floor able to assist. I went in for some photo boxes recently and the lady stationed near the photos was very helpful in showing me additional options they had separated in another section. Speaking of other sections, they have a vast selection. From faux flowers to ring pops this Michaels has it all and has plenty in stock! I'll be back for all my crafting needs soon, I just need to learn how to be crafty first. read more

I put in a pick-up order online and waited and waited....and waited. I currently have COVID and put someone else's name on my order to pick it up for me, but 2 hours later and still nothing in my order had been put together. They went in and were told they would only have to wait 30 more minutes. Nope. I called and was told that I had a delivery order, not a pick-up. I told the worker on the phone that I was almost certain I chose pick-up. She kept telling me "no you paid the delivery fee. No, it says delivery." So I hung up so I could check the order on my phone myself. PICK-UP. And it showed that none of my items were scanned, bagged, anything. I called again and explained the situation and that I have COVID and that my friend who was going to pick up the order waited around for hours and couldn't help me anymore. I asked them to deliver it without charging me extra because THEY told me I had delivery, not pick-up. The worker LAUGHED at me on the phone and said "There's no way we're doing that." I then told her I was calling corporate and hung up. Then, what do you know?! My order is ready IMMEDIATELY. Clearly they had few enough orders to know which one to fill when I didn't give them my name in the second phone call. Absolutely despicable customer service. Treat your good customers poorly, and there won't be any left. I will never return to this location and I'll make sure I tell everyone to do the same. read more
