STAY AWAY!!! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR BIKES!! Bought a…read moreTrek Merlin 8 in mid June this summer (2023). Neck started creaking and making noise about two months later. Today it started locking up and I almost crashed. Brought it in and they told me that the Trek bike I bought has open, unsealed headset bearings and they rusted. Very disappointing to say the least. Freewheel asked me about five questions which I thought were to help find out what happened, but no, more likely wanted to find an away to blame me and say that even if I pay for new proper sealed bearing headset they won't cover labor under warranty. Unconscionable, BAD BUSINESS!! I treated the bike very well. Trek should take much of the blame here too. Garbage headset.

My wife and I stopped in this bike shop yesterday. I was going to buy her a new bike. We were…read moregreeted by Dennis when we walked in. We told him we were looking for a FX 2 for her and FX 3 for me. Dennis told us Immediately, we don't want to buy those two that we really need to test drive FX4. This bike was $1000 more than what we wanted to spend. After test driving bike. We went back in and wanted to test drive to the fx2. After my wife test drove that she really liked it. We went back inside to tell Dennis we wanted to buy that one. He immediately started to put it back on the rack telling her that would not be a good bike. If I was going to buy the FX 3 She really should buy at least that bike. So, we could see he did not want to sell us the FX2. My wife told him to pushy the store immediately. My advice avoid this place or at the very least avoid Dennis.

Eden Prairie store I…read morewas sold a bike rack and told if I had any questions when I assembled to just ask. Well I couldn't get one screw to work and when I called back the man on the phone said to drop by they would be happy to help, very friendly. Unfortunately when I arrived the staff was annoyed, blamed me for the screw issue, a part was missing, actually fell off and fell into the box, which I didn't see. He was irritated I was asking questions, he was very impatient and rude. I returned the $300 bike rack. If he would have taken the 15 minutes to help me you would have had a sale. I've always had positive experiences there. Not today.

Bought a new bike for grandson six months ago. Barely used bike already has flat tires due to the…read moretube stem being cut by the tire rims. Brought the bike in and they claim this is normal wear and not covered under warranty stating that the bike tire needs to be inflated every week otherwise this will happen. I have never had this occur with any bike I have ever purchased from Erik's nor any other bike for that matter. The pictures show the stem being cut at exactly the same location as the hole on the rim. If you expand the picture you can see the sharp edges on the hole that should have been filed down. I fully expect replacing the tube will only result in a cut stem again. Really disappointed that Erik's won't stand behind their product. Not worth the cost to shop here.

This felt like a great practical shop: not a giant bike warehouse or a lifestyle brand shop, but a place that sells reasonable bikes, parts and service.

Three years ago I brought my bike in for a tune up, and I mentioned the front tire had a slow leak…read moreand I asked to have the lining replaced and/or the tire, whichever would take care of it. After I picked it up, I noticed I wasn't charged for it and a week later, the front tire was flat again. I never got around to bringing it back until last week, and just asked to replace the tires and front lining. When I picked up the bike I explained what happened last time and asked if there was a warranty so I wouldn't have the same issue again. The guy at the register said no, there wasn't. I said I understood if there was a puncture or something that I caused, but just for the tires themselves, even a limited warranty? No. I guess I didn't know that was a thing. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but the guy acted like I was. I dropped it, paid for it, and then he made a personal comment, saying I should go find an Air Conditioner and sit in front of it. It was hot and I walked a half mile there in the sun and I sweat a bit, always have. I felt this comment was unnecessarily confrontational and completely unprofessional. I have no problems with the products and service. I just didn't appreciate the personal comment, is all.
