Standing in line on a weekend at Michael was a pain. The line stop just as I was ready to enter. The young gal who is watching how people leave and others enter. I Ask her why the hold up, she said her higher ups said to her in her 2 way stop people for a while which meant me and 30 others standing outside in line 6 ft from each other.But many of them waiting who I saw and others standing for another 20 to 30 minutes. When I got in and shop for T-shirts I noticed the line to check out was not moving much so I looked around and saw 3 only checkers out of 7 check bases not being used. Then I saw several workers in the art area in front to the right in a anther room glass windows expose them standing around doing nothing it seems like when I saw. The customers are wanting to check out that when was there crowds of people that came in to buy. FUCK THIS STORE!! Their products are well overpriced so yourself a favor and shop at Amazon. All employees are useless!! Never want to help out and how another user stated it's all self-checkout. They're favorite thing to say is "are you paying credit or debit? Self-checkout is free". And when you do tell them you need assistance with something they get bothered. So why are you employed here? A woman with pink hair black rimmed round glasses was rude as fuck when we told her we had a question about their merchandise after asking us how we are paying and directing us to the self checkout. She asked with attitude what our question was and didn't even help us something else came out and helped. But moral of this review fuck these stores and it's all robot assisted, they are never stocked, rude customer service, and overpriced materials. Don't waste your time coming here for frames! Michael's bought out Aaron Bros framing (who used to have actual sales on frames) and then jacked up the price on everything. They put up ads online that make it look like all of their frames are on sale. You get to the store and they have signs up that make it seem like any frames made by "Studio Decor" (their sub-par quality frame "company") are on sale. Then you get to the register and whatever frame you brought up there just happens to not be the one on sale. Now that they bought out Aaron Bros they act like they're the only game in town, but they're not. There's a Hobby Lobby less than 5 min away that has ACTUAL sales on GOOD QUALITY frames. I'll be going there from now on. The staff here is almost as sub-par as the quality of their frames. They act like you're putting them out for helping you. Everyone at Hobby Lobby seems happy to help! I'll be going to Hobby Lobby from now on. Especially since the parking lot at the Empire Center is such a nightmare to boot!!!! read more

Love going here, but need to make sure I don't walk out of the store with bags and bags dull of art supplies. They were having special sales on certain items around the store, so I snagged two small hardcover sketch books going for $5 each and then one of my favorite marker brands had a sale, which is Micron Sakura. And snagged a pack of 3 black markers for $7. They repositioned their Dollar Section along the checkout line and had to stop myself from getting things I didn't really need. I ended up signing up for a free membership that would have coupons sent to my email as well as special discounts. read more

Picture if you will....me. Then picture if you will....holiday season. Now picture if you will ME stuck in a very looooong line at this here Michael's waiting patiently with my then Jewish boyfriend. (Trust me the Jewish part is important to the story) At this point I want you to picture Impatient Iris behind us who is very pissy, very unpleasant and very, well, she sucks. We are all borderline annoyed at the shopping sitch, the cashiers are going at anti-warp speed, but come on, it's the damn holidays, if you want quick, shop online dammit! So an employee lady comes over and says the words that have started more retail war revolutions than I care to recall, "I can take the next person in line over here." It is my belief that the minute those 10 harmless little words are uttered, society's members really show their true colors. It's after hearing those words that many idiots dare to ask the question, "What is next...really?" Clearly Impatient Iris' answer was her, even though she was nowhere near next. In fact, the JBF and I were technically next. So we start walking over and she guns it to the register and cuts in front of me. The cashier then says (and major props to homegirl for tellin it like it is!), "Umm, mam, I believe she was next" Impatient Iris doesn't listen and starts unloading her stuff in an oh so Impatient Iris kind of way. I stand there smirking since judging people is great holiday fun for me. The cashier then says, "Mam, I'm sorry, but she was next, I need to ring her up first." Impatient Iris then rolls her eyes at the cashier, turns to me and gives me a look of death and says, "She doesn't mind if you ring me up first, now let's go!!" It is at this time that I would LOVE for you to imagine my internal 'Oh HELL NO BITCH' neck roll coming on. Imagine also my level of 'Oh no you diiii iiiiiint and it's on!' excitement as I said, "Actually. I do mind and you are rude, so step aside cuz we were next." The now Impatient Iris turned Irate Iris, looks at me like I'm kidding. Answer, actually no, I'm not. And I push her crap aside and the cashier starts to ring our stuff up and you can just taste the anger and hatred in the air coming from this woman. It was awesome and I tried really hard to contain my laughter and excitement for this beautiful holiday moment. We finally finish our transaction and as we are walking away from the line, Double I yells, "Merry FUCKING Christmas!!!" to which we turn and say, "We're Jewish" and laugh and go about our Merry way. Yay, fa la la la la la la la la :) Moral of the story, don't be an asshole, it's a line people, it will move so pop a Valium, shut your pie hole and chill the Eff out! read more

This store is terrible. The shelves are only about half-stocked, making it really hard to find all but the most common craft supplies. It's pretty terrible. Big box stores like Michael's buys up smaller stores (like Aaron Bros), or puts mom & pop shops out of business, then fails to provide any decent selection or availability. They're also poorly staffed, making it hard to get questions answered. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Michaels. I love it because: I love anything crafty-painty-diy-y. It's a convenient location, there's always free parking in the huge parking area. It's a bit messy sometimes, but fairly organized in it's own way. They carry a lot of supplies. Some sales are good. There's always a coupon in the paper or online. I hate it because: It's generally REALLY PRICEY. Expensive. Costs and arm and a leg (you get my drift). Can get a touch crowded sometimes (but not too bad). It can be a wee bit hard to find some things sometimes. Customer service, while generally nice, isn't "expert." Overall, I like to just go to Michaels to roam around and see if I can find something for cheap (like on sale) because I honestly can't afford most of the things regular priced. I just can't shell out good money for overpriced things. I do appreciate some of the cheaper little tubes of acrylic paints. Some are under a dollar and work just great. read more

Bob stated that Michaels only accepted Jo-Ann Fabric coupons. They're also "upper" management and they do not know Michaels' policies and made the situation awkward and uncomfortable. This store used to be absolutely amazing, but now it's gone down the drain. I can't even find what I need because the aisles are so messy. You have kids throwing stuff everywhere, opening paint tunes and packages, it's a complete mess. This store never seems to restock their shelves. I went there on a Sunday and there is this one employee (Hispanic/Latina girl who is short and has straight long hair) who walks around with the biggest bit** face ever. I saw her yelling and getting mad at a customer for asking her to open the glass door to get something. Not to mention she was even at the checkout stand and was glaring at all the customers. I have been having the most miserable time with the framing department. My order still hasn't been completed and it is 10 days overdue. I have spoken with so many staff members and no one can give me an answer. I have sat on hold for extended periods of time without being helped and I have had to call multiple days over the last two weeks to see what is happening. It is a wedding gift for someone who lives in Europe and at this rate they will be leaving without their gift. It has been the most frustrating experience and it is not worth the discount pricing. Paying a different company more money is definitely worth it to not have to go through this saga. They get two stars because I have never had a problem with the rest of the store and I always engage with really helpful and polite staff. The framing department deserves no stars. I hope they didn't lose my order or my pictures because they are irreplaceable. So unhappy. read more

Also found paper patterns that I've been looking for online and moskatel's and other michael's and joann's for weeks now. $20 for 100 pages. What a steal! Oh Michaels, how I love thee. Ways that I love to express myself are through photography and acrylic painting on canvas. My husband is a huge model train guy and loves this place as well for his supplies instead of paying a fortune at those hobby stores. It always seems that Michaels is having a sale on something. Today I lucked out and got a huge pack of 7 good quality canvas for 20 bucks, an easel for my table to replace my other easel for 12 bucks when it was normally $30, and of course the acrylic paints were all on sale as well. Gotta love it. Only gripe is that damn line, but I must say they have found a way to make it go a lot faster as they no longer have their separate lines for each cashier and have one long line and the next person goes to the next available cashier. That's the best way to do it. I also wanted to mention the great sale they had on their candles. Three big candles for $10, normally one candle is $5.99. I'm already enjoying the aroma of our fall harvest scented candle. I plan on taking a few classes here as well and am super excited. Its just that everytime I go to Michaels they're all out of their class schedules, huge bummer. I really want to take their Wilton cake decorating class and a sewing class here. Been a customer of Aaron Brothers opposite the store and loved this company for 30+ years. Never felt as unappreciated as on my last visit in Aarons store. Each and every of the 20x20 canvas' I wanted to buy was damaged - and the guy at the check-out did not care. I left without it. This place is my second go to place for Michaels. It's next to our closest target and costco. My wife needed me to buy some ribbon and return some items. Some of the Michaels are so busy that the lines are curving around the corner but this Michaels had 6 registers open which I appreciate especially in the busy times of the day. The register girl also told me they had a 40% coupon today so that was also greatly appreciative. Always good to save money when coming to an arts and crafts store. I just went christmas shopping today 12/22/22 at about 12pm and had the absolute most shocking encounter with JARED, one of the cashiers. He forced us into the self checkout and refused to help us. I understand that they were short staffed and needed to help somebody else with a return. As i was scanning my items in the self checkout, i overheard him having attitude with the other customers he was helping because they didnt speak good english.. questionable... Its ok to have a bad day but not to take it out on minority customers.... laughing and making fun of customers while they are struggling is not ok. Jared needs a reality check of entitlement privilege and needs to be more grateful for his 20/hr cashiering job. read more

Went there last night because their website says they had a few of this one item in stock. It's not available on line and I checked for stores within 100 miles. It's located in the big mall with Best Buy and Krispy Kreme, etc. Plenty of parking spaces, and inside it's a huge store. I looked around and couldn't find the item, so I showed a picture to a female employee and she asked the manager. Unfortunately, they're out of stock. I came here with my two boys (2 and 4) to meet my sister with her 18 month old grand daughter (yeah, she's way older than me...) to make gingerbread houses for Christmas. The buying experience was harrowing. This place was packed and the line to buy stuff was super long. I wash pushing a side by side, 28" wide double stroller and no one budged an inch when I was making my way up the aisles to the gingerbread house section. And, when we were browsing through the different kits, of course the women walking through the aisles expected me to move my stroller but didn't give an inch when I walked by them. Whatever... These crafty women and men are obsessed with their little projects so much so they forget basic manners. This place should change it's name to Rude's because that's what everyone shopping in there are. Oh, as for the gingerbread making class: the kids had fun. Until it was time to leave. I'm really annoyed at the moment. I purchased what I thought was a brand new cricut joy. Just for convenience to carry around cause my maker is too big and heavy. I picked it up yesterday and barely had the chance to open the bag up and look at it. And it was used! Marker that it comes with was thrown in. The cord to plug in was out of its wrapping and badly wrapped. And the machine it self had no protector like when you usually buy it brand new. I will be going tomorrow to fix this. Cause I did not spend the money for a used one. So disappointed and angry. read more

This place is overall good. Not great but not bad either. Some areas are super clean while others look like they just threw all the junk in the shelves. The employees are really nice and the prices are reasonable. I always go here for scrapbook paper and other things for my son's projects. If there's one thing I've learned about scrapbooking, it's this: Scrapbooking materials are expensive. If there's a discount going on, you stock up...and when I say stock up, I mean STOCK UP. Well, I had just gotten my new personal die cut machine (think inkjet printer, but with a blade instead of an inkjet cartridge) in the mail, but ran out of pretty papers to cut up. I went online to check if Michaels had any cool deals on their weekly ad and noticed that they were selling scrapbook papers for 40% off. (Yay for holiday discounts!) So, off I went to the Burbank Michaels. I get there and what do I find? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was like a rabid arts and crafts mob had raided the store and stripped the scrapbooking aisle bare. The shelves where pads of paper were supposed to be stocked were practically empty, minus some basic cardstock and the Martha Stewart collection (which wasn't on sale). Michaels, you know scrapbookers will stock up when things are discounted - it's just a fact of life. So why the hell can't you keep your products stocked?? read more
