I think this is my favorite Michaels store in the Bay Area. I usually know what I want, even though I didn't get anything this last time. I took one star off because some of the items that I needed were overpriced (sketch paper, and paintbrushes), so I have to go online to get them. Overall, so many more products than other stores I've been to. PLUS, they have Halloween goodies! Not on clearance, not on sale, just nice and early! It made me so happy. read more

I like the location and I like the selection but the main complaint is I can never ever find anything because the shelves are just not stocked. It has taken me months to find 22 gauge wire and I finally gave up and ordered it on Amazon. The hooks on the shelves are there but there's never any merchandise. And it's not just the wire.. So many essentials for jewelry making and crafting are always sold out. I know there's an automated stock replenishment system so it has to be sitting in the back somewhere. Disappointing because other Michaels stores frequently have much better stocked shelves. read more

Can you hire more cashiers? Most of the time that I come here no one is standing at the register and I have to walk around the store to find help. There are a lot of people who need help/services that cannot be done through self checkout. I've been coming to this Michaels since I was a a little girl. It's always been clean, tidy and well stocked. The employees are nice enough but since they installed self checkout, help is much harder to come by. I did curbside pickup since I have a pet that I have to pickup from daycare on my way home. I waited 15 minutes and no one brought me my order. I finally went in and people can just green their order pickup, so essentially anyone can take your order if they felt like it. Michaels is greedy and doesn't want to pay people to do jobs! This is not a reflection of the customer employees, but a reflection of the company intentionally understaffing stores. Michaels as a whole also needs to do better as far as fabric and sewing notions. Since Joann's closed, I have to order online since Michaels selection is very limited and they almost never have what I need! They have the basics, but not enough. Not to mention, all the fabric is exempt from coupons, and they do not have very good sales. read more

I came here because I needed some things. It's in a huge shopping center . There's plenty of parking. This place literally has everything you ever would need for crafting. Everything was very well organized and the selection was great. They also do framing. They had a great selection for frames and do make home decor. They also had things for baking highly recommend. Been on the hold with the 800 number over an hour and online chat is non-existent. Contacted the Uber Drive (Ambar R.) who basically told me she could do nothing. Contacted the local store who also told me they could nothing for me over the phone. So, at this point I'm out over $96 with no yarn and someone else's order. I had photos professionally mounted and framed from trips my husband and I took to Alaska, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Jordan, France, and Africa, Michaels did a beautiful job. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I went in and spent over $450 for an autographed jersey to be framed. When I received it back 3 weeks later I was shocked at what I saw. The jersey wasn't centered on the board, it was tilted downward to the right, there were wrinkles from where they folded the jersey and lastly the sleeves weren't even folded evenly, one was different than the other. I spoke with Kevin who was the framing dept manager and he apologized and agreed that it looked really bad so we walked through exactly what was needed and what he was going to do and he stated he would personally work on this himself to make sure it was done right. A week later I get a call from a framing specialist who was asking me questions about the dealing of the jersey, I stated the above and asked why Kevin hadn't worked on it, she didn't know. I spoke with an assistant manager who didn't know, then I spoke with the manager who didn't know why he didn't touch it last week but did state he was out this week with a family emergency I eventually agreed to have the framing specialist do the work but if it wasn't done right then I wanted a refund on all this because this has taken way too long and the level of service is a joke. The manager stated "if you're going to nit pick at it that's not fair". I believe I have a right to nit pick when I pay $470 for a jersey that I wanted mounted right the first time. I have been shopping at the Brentwood Michael's for a few years now & generally the experience is just whatever, nothing to get excited about especially the customer service & hit & miss with merchandise being in stock, well today Michael's was on top of their game! I came in to the store today because I had seen a post on line that Michael's had their $5 grab bags(box) available in store... YES! I have been hearing about these famous $5 bags for awhile now, so I called the store to confirm if they had the grab bags and was informed that yes they had them available. I rush down to Michael's to get one or two or ?? Anyway, I picked up a $5 box and in a bin next to the boxes were wooden, paintable easter signs 3 for $5 yes I picked out 3 signs, regular retail cost per sign was $19.99..the manager,Amber was very helpful & friendly, there were plenty of clearance items available throughout the store & 60% off all summer items.. store was pretty organized & clean and Steve the cashier was so sweet & professional. BTW Download the app, saves a lot of time! Anyways, the store for the most part is clean and neat. It's a hit or miss to find an employee walking around to ask for help. I'm glad they have two price scan machines, one on each side of the store. Clarissa, the cashier is really sweet, friendly and nice. She's very informative whenever I have questions. I have been to this since they opened and have been less than impressed with their customer service and don't really ever expect anything exceptional but this last time I could have gotten better help if I would have blindfolded myself. I was looking for acetate ribbon and as usual, no one on the floor to help. Went to the Florist since she attempts to work with ribbon and asked her for help. She just said "it's on the same asile as the ribbon." Yea, no kidding BUT there abot 2000 spools of ribbon!! I went to look and looked and then looked some more. After being over the edge in frustration, I went back to Little Miss Helpfull and asked her if she could at least point it out because I could not find it. She ROLLED her eyes at me, let out a huge breath and then led me over there and pointed to a tiny area at the bottom and said "here" and then marched off to do some more flower aranging NICE!!! read more

I went here last night to use up the rest of a gift card I had won online. Anyway, I had 2 (2 packs) of 8X10 picture frames, a poster of the Acropolis that I have bought before but had left back at my grandparents' house in Oklahoma when I moved out of my dorm and back to California and a triple gold clasp so I can make a 3 strand pearl necklace. I went up to the counter and the lady helping me was obviously new (this was like 8-ish PM - there was a Wilton class going on at the time.) Because she didn't put the amount into the register, the card wasn't working so she had to call for help. It's cool with me. I've worked retail and POS machines are all different and not necessarily something that you're born knowing how to work. Plus, my card didn't cover the balance so it was being split between a gift card and a debit card - not a new person's dream transaction. So she calls somebody over the intercom and what I assume was the store manager came up to help. This lady was tall, had shortish blondish brown hair, scary eye makeup and a bad attitude. Instead of saying "ok, what do you need help with?" She kept repeating "cancel so and so so she doesn't come up to the front." The new lady was obviously confused (those phone codes are really annoying if you've worked retail.) but finally figured out the call code.I don't understand why it's SUCH a big freaking deal if somebody comes up to the front - whatever. Anyway, the lady barely helped the new lady figure it out. She literally walked over to another counter before this new lady could figure out how to fix the problem. Hey, store managers - or higher up retail workers - don't huff and puff and act put out that you have to train somebody to use the POS machines for more than 10 seconds. It takes about a week to catch on and learn all the stupid phone paging codes and all the different commands for the machine. You work retail - you're not doing manual labor or tending gun shot victims or doing brain surgery, so stop acting like it's ruining your day to help the new person learn the ropes. The manager or whoever she was reminded me of my old boss at Cost Plus World Market in Pleasanton (DO NOT SHOP THERE!) and it really ticked me off. New hires are people too! read more

Spoke with employee Innis, and he couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating, or helpful. He also laughed at most of my jokes, a definite plus, and listened patiently to my short and dreamy gushing about the painting I had brought in -- my first actual real live oil on canvas piece of art I've ever bought. Is "3" stars a bad review? I've been going to this craft store forever. I definitely prefer the older store that was located in the east county mall. It was easier to find items and the store layout was better. The merchandise is stacked high and is hard to reach. Michael's needs an over haul, a new designer or something!! After going into Hobby Lobby an (OCD dream), I can't really say the store is clean and organized. I can say the customer has always been consistent. Everyone is always friendly and is more than willing to help you. The cashiers always offer you a coupon to save an extra buck. They recently starting asking if you are a member their members rewards program. They didn't try to hard sell me either. I went in looking for peacock feathers and ended up with a small package. They do have different merchandise than their competition so it's definitely worth shopping there. Michael's I do love you, just step your game up! read more

That's right my makeup/mac.aholics, this is the spot for some great tools to help beautify your lovely arse. Are you confused? Well let me drop some knowledge. Paint brushes make good dupes for those high end MAC brushes. Specifically, Loew-Cornell 3/8 Maxine's Mop. I love this brush and it's a great dupe for MAC's 239 brush (4 duckets vs. 24 - shooot, you do the math). I can't believe I'm sharing this with you but these always seem to fly off the shelf anyway so it appears everybody is already in the know. I also come here for magnets to attach to my MAC shadows when I depot them (yay for back2MAC). Thanks Michael's, my face and wallet love you. I love Michaels and if I had the time, I would probably spend a good majority of my day just roaming the store, planning and putting together little projects, while aspiring and daydreaming to be the next Martha Stewart. If anyone knows me, I am all about decorating, crafts and making things beautiful. Whether its decorating a house, planning a theme for a party, or making little crafts for the holidays, I live and breath using my artistic hands for whatever creative little projects and I have been coming to Michaels since I could remember, to assist me through out the years with what ever little project I had up my sleeve heak, I even worked there when I was 19 for a seasonal job and it was one of the most memorable fun jobs I have had. I came here recently to get some supplies for some Halloween crafts and decorations I was working on and found everything I needed and more, they really have a great selection to choose from to satisfy just about all your crafty artsy needs, not to mention the prices seem to be pretty reasonable. Oh, I must add though, besides the nice lady that rang me up at the cash register, the rest of the Customer Service Department really needs to STEP IT UP, for there really is not much help in that department at all though, I will not let them discourage me from coming to get my materials! read more

The conveniency & my love for home decor/DIY craft supplies are a 5-star. Hands down. I love the items that Michaels provides. But what they lack at every location I've visited is their service. Is it that hard to put on a smile? Every time I use a coupon I have to pull it up on my phone, click on the coupon, select which coupon I would like to use, and click on it so they can scan it. Sounds reasonable, but not when they look irritably impatient waiting for you to do it. Now I've learned to get it ready before I pay. Again, smile! Also every time I come here there's almost no body walking around to help you out. They're only around to re-stock on supplies, otherwise you'd get a "ask the front cashier even tho there's 20 people in line" suggestion. The service alone doesn't deserve any stars at all. More like attitude adjustments. But I like this establishment... And there have been a selective few who actual have been helpful. Salute to those few. Teach the others your ways! read more

OOOH Michael's. I love and I hate you so much at the same time. I hate you because I am forced to face my inability to be creative. I don't scrapbook, cut, paste, sew, frame, decopage, knit, bead, stuff or color. I don't paint, do floral arrangments, iron or stitch. You make me face my demons. You put me on sensory overload every time I walk in your store! *if I were a sequin, where would I be?" I LOVE you because you've made me look real good. Every time my girls get an assignment from school that involves any kind of "making" of any type or style - we head to Michaels. We've made Charlottes Web charachters out of airclay, we've made real board games and mobiles, sock puppets and backdrops. Over the weekend we were tasked with creating parade floats out of shoeboxes. Each of my twins had to depict Egypt - I cannot believe the amount of items we were able to find to make the Nile River, Pyramids and Queen Nefertiti. I used to get chest pains when my girls came home telling me "momma, guess what? I need to make a kaliedoscope" now, when I hear "momma, guess what?" I just smile and assure myself Michaels is just around the corner! I love all the cool things in the store and leave inspired to think that someday I might actually take up a cool little hobby of some sort. Because of Michael's I know my way around a glue gun now! I wish I would have known about Michaels when my girls had to make missions back in 4th grade - yeah, they sell the complete sets for those too! read more

Sadly, this store is understaffed. Line had about 10 or so people in it with only two registers open. Framing section was not staffed and a clerk had to call 3 times on the radio to try and get someone who worked that area to respond. Eventually, I had to push the customer service request button to get someone to help. Other than the Staffing issue, there is a wide selection of art supplies which is extremely helpful when you have Crafty kids. Everything was fairly well stocked. The store looked clean and the staff I did come in contact with were very kind and happy. read more

I came here to buy some ribbon to make hair bows since I got inspired to make some and I literally found nothing. No huge selections, the rows of ribbon were almost empty.
