I come from Sacramento to have my teeth cleaned and looked at so it's still worth the trip. The hygienists have mostly stayed the same, with some retiring as it was there time, but for the most part they are still intact. Appointments- They are only open 1 Saturday a month so it's rough trying to get a Saturday appointment. I usually make my appointment at the end of my appointment so they can usually schedule me in a time that works best. Just be aware that it's tough to reschedule an appointment the closer it gets to your appointment as appointments are made 6 months in advance. Parking- They are in a business park and they have a private lots so parking isn't an issue. Farmer's Market- If you come on a Saturday there is usually a Farmer's market across the street in the Kaiser Shopping Center. So if you are early or waiting for someone there is something to do. Dentist- It's a husband and wife couple. They are both very nice and all seems well. I don't have any gum disease or cavities so I can only judge on the regular 6 month appointments. For now I'm a satisfied customer. Ambiance- It's nice a cozy, the receptionist knows your name so you feel at home. They have a bathroom right off the waiting area where you can refresh your mouth before going to the appointment. Make sure you ask the receptionist for a disposable tooth brush to do a quick cleaning before you have your appointment. They used to have them in the restroom for your, but took them out. They are infused with toothpaste so there is no need for more. There is also mouthwash and cups in the bathroom so you can do a quick swish. Decor- I still love the paw prints on the ceiling tiles. The place is clean and fresh. I love the unique whimsical stools the air purifier is on. They have little games for the kids to play while they wait and a stack of magazines to read in the lobby. Goodie Bag- Kids still have a toy check they can get a toy from. That is always a plus. When I was a kid I'd love getting my tiny gift. And for the adults we get a new toothbrush, the color of our choice, a choice of toothpaste and floss. I love the mini toothpaste as I use them when I travel. They are the perfect size for TSA.

First of all, Dylan at front desk is the most organized, friendliest, most helpful person ever! I also had some confusion with my insurance and he patiently explained to me how everything worked even though it really wasn't his job to do so! I never have to wait more then 5 minutes to be brought back and once I sit down, Dr. Don Shimizu is generally ready to see me too! He always asks how you're doing, during the procedures he'll make sure you're doing okay, and he always makes sure to let his patients know that if anything is bothering them, they can always give him a call! He recommended a root canal and recommended an endodontist. His staff called their office, while I was waiting, to make an appointment the following day. Wow... great customer service. During this visit, I got a zirconia crown made after a root canal. I was impressed how quickly the crown was made at Dr. Wong's office. The process took about 1 1/2 hours. My appointment was booked for 2 hours. His assistant, Emily, was very friendly and accommodating to my personal medical needs. Dr. Wong was pleasant during the procedure. He has a calm demeanor. From the start, it felt like they were pushing unnecessary treatment. I was told I needed a "deep cleaning," which is typically only recommended for patients with gum disease but my teeth and gums are healthy. The cleaning itself was done by a hygienist and it was extremely painful and caused bleeding. It felt overly aggressive, like my gums were being stabbed rather than properly cleaned. What made the experience worse was that the actual dentist barely saw me, literally just came in for a couple of seconds to say hello and then left. There was no proper evaluation or explanation. After the appointment, I was told that my teeth weren't even fully cleaned and that I would need to come back, be numbed, and finish the cleaning later. So essentially, I went through a painful experience and still didn't receive a proper cleaning. I was also left with a pretty sore and sensitive gum that is still recovering days later. To make things more concerning, they recommended the same deep cleaning to my husband, who also has healthy teeth. It honestly feels like this is being pushed on everyone regardless of actual need. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment here!

I've since retired and am living on a fixed income. Currently the going rate for top or lower implant replacement surgery is 30K. I had just about given up on being able to ever afford replacing my bottom teeth with implants. My search for a dentist led me to Dr. Ricky Singh at Shadelands Dental Care. He's a Medicare approved provider and I was also able to take advantage of a $6500 discount thru the Smile Program. That added up to an $8500 discount. I had my surgery on Nov 30 and am in the healing phase but already feel better about myself. The physical/psychological effects of bad teeth are devastating! My natural teeth weren't made for the long haul and I feared having to wear dentures at some point. So grateful for the advancement in dentistry - implants are a far superior option (for me anyway). Dr. Singh has given me a new lease on life. He and his staff have been wonderful throughout this process. I had to return multiple times because they rocked and my bottom teeth hit the top inside denture, loosening my 2 lower front teeth. He blamed my newly loosened teeth to "poor hygiene," after previously telling me that my lower teeth were in good shape. He attempted to fix the problem but only weakened the denture and it broke in half. He had it repaired, and it broke again. After numerous complaints, he agreed to start over and took new impressions. The new implant fit much better. Success, I thought, until they broke again. They were repaired, but only a few months later, one of the abutments came off and soon after, a post fell out. Now I have a hole in my gum and my bottom 2 teeth fell out. This went on for two years and he told me that he could not do any more repairs without charging me. Nearly $50K for implants and it's now been three years, and I have a broken denture that's been repaired by ME and still a hole in my gum, which I fear is infected. His practice is like an assembly line. They herd you in and out. He is a shyster. I also paid for 4 lower Moller implants. He put in 3 posts not 4. I didn't know until I went to another dentist who told me there were only 3 lower posts. I am not the litigious type, or I would have sued him. Go to Dr. Signh at your own risk.
