Michael and his team recently completed a full remodel of my condo bathroom including shower, tile, flooring and glass installation. Overall I am very happy with the final result. The bathroom looks much more modern and updated and the shower/glass came out especially well. I am a fairly handy person myself and was honestly nervous about having someone else do the work, but the team did a great job. They worked hard, put in full days, were respectful of the building and surprisingly quiet throughout the project, which I really appreciated in a condo environment. Communication was good throughout the project and pricing was fair compared to other quotes I received. Overall, I would recommend them for bathroom remodeling work. read more

We had a great experience working with Michael Remodeling. Michael and his team renovated our primary bathroom and also handled some flooring repairs and updates in a guest bathroom. I chose him based on his strong reviews on Yelp and Google, and he absolutely lived up to them. The project was completed quicker than expected, and his attention to detail was excellent throughout. We made a few adjustments to the bathroom renovation based on Michael's experience and feedback, and the finished result looked fantastic. I'd highly recommend Michael Remodeling to anyone looking for a reliable contractor for projects large or small. He'll definitely be my go-to for any future renovation needs. read more

Michael and his team did a complete bathroom remodel on my vintage condo and had a great experience. The results are beautiful. Michael's very professional, accomodating, and helped me navigate the unexpected challenges that come with an old building. We hired Michael to remodel 2 bathrooms and redo a family room's walls, and floors for 3 rooms. Michael's work was incredible and very meticulous. His attention to detail is incredible and he looks out for his customers. This was our first time getting any work done on the house and the care that Michael and his team took while working on the house was fantastic. The initial quotes we received from Michael were fair and he delivered as stated. As with any project, you might be inclined to make changes along the way during the project and we certainly had our fair share of changes to the project. Michael's team was able to execute and deliver. One word of advice when working on projects is to try to cover the scope of work up front as much as you can. The changes here and there can certainly add up. Finally, if you do have changes, ensure you obtain the quote from the team before proceeding as there might be some sticker shock if you don't! In any case, if you come into the project with a clear plan and have all the items you want installed lined up, Michael's work is incredible. He personally worked on all the major plumbing and electrical and everything was professionally completed. His background is in plumbing and so he was very good at explaining the work that was being done. Overall, for my next project, I look forward to working with Michael again and would definitely recommend him for your next project! Thanks again for all the work Michael! read more

I needed to update my primary bathroom, and have used Michael and his team before on other projects (trust their work, and haven't let me down). Couldn't be happier with the end result. I had a few game-time changes to the plan which the team took in stride and helped bring my vision to life! Always recommend to any friends in need of a great contractor. read more

I hired Michael for a bathroom renovation. My master bath had awful stone tiles and fixtures that were installed probably when the building was built in 2006. He was quick with responding and great with taking my direction of how I wanted this to look. Attached are my before and after pictures. Needless to say, I'm very happy with Michael's work. read more

My wife and I asked Michael to do redo our kitchen, and he crushed it! He did such a great job that we also had him redo our guest bathroom on the second floor. We would highly recommend Michael and his team for any job imaginable inside your home! He redid our: kitchen, guest bathroom, water pipes throughout the house for clean water, flooring, and much more. Great team. read more

This is our 2nd project with Michael. Just like the first bathroom remodel, the work was quickly done and looks beautiful! This time Michael and his team replaced drywall and repaired water damage from an extensive leak on our 2nd and 3rd floor bay windows. They look as good as new! We also had Michael install additional outlets, a new dining room pendant light and a ceiling fan in our bedroom. All the work was beautiful and up to code. Additionally Michael speeded up the work to accommodate our need to visit a family member. Great service, great work, and competitive pricing! I am excited to work on our list of future project with Michael Remodeling! read more

I feel very fortunate to have found Michael. He did a major renovation of both my kitchen and bathroom, with additional work on my laundry room. For four weeks, Michael himself and an excellent colleague named Edward came every day Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until his work was complete. He's a very unique contractor, a small business where he does all the electricity and plumbing himself. His business could be much bigger except I think he really enjoys doing the actual work more than trying to grow into a bigger company, and his relationship with Edward shows he chooses his team carefully. My understanding is he has two other employees and handles two projects at a time. He's incredibly reliable, responsive, and trustworthy. My job started quickly before I had made all my design decisions, so I added a lot of new elements Michael hadn't scoped for, particularly in the bathroom: heated floors, additional electrical work for a bidet, extra plumbing for multiple shower fixtures. In the kitchen I added a vent to the outside for a range hood, an extra-thick island countertop (Michael sourced the quartz countertops). I had him paint my upper cabinets and replace my lower ones (he sourced the base cabinets very affordably), and late in the project added replacing the upper cabinet hinges to be slow-close and add pull out shelving to the pantry cabinets, two changes that really make me feel like I have brand new upper cabinets. Michael's pricing is extremely reasonable and consistent, and after a couple of additions where I insisted on knowing the price for a change up front, I could reliably predict about how much something would cost if I added it and could absolutely trust him not to surprise me on the cost of something. Michael will absolutely be the first person I reach out to for new projects. I really do feel like I saved so much using him rather than a large renovation company and got high quality work. read more

We hired Michael and his brother, Edward, to renovate our small kitchen. They did an outstanding job, and were very easy to work with. In addition to the kitchen, we had Michael tile an adjacent hallway and refresh a powder room. We also had him rip out the tiling in our entryway, and replace with wood flooring. This part of the job was a bit of a tricky because he had to thread in matching hardwood, and then refinish the floor so that everything looked as if it was always there. It came out flawless. As I mentioned above, Michael was very easy to work with, and were easily able to make adjustments as the inevitable obstacles arose. His knowledge of plumbing and electrical definitely aided in making the renovation run smoothly. For anyone considering Michael Remodeling, I would only recommend one step for you to take before the work begins. In the initial planning phases, insist on finding a time to meet Michael and his designer (who works through Studio 41) to go over plan design and details. We had a small bit of miscommunication in the beginning because I was out-ot-town quite a bit before the work was to begin. We did not meet with Michael and the designer, and I do think that would have made the experience more complete. I only know Michael from this one job, but my overwhelming impression is that he is an honest and hardworking family man that wants nothing more than to make his clients happy. If you are looking to renovate, I strongly recommend getting a quote from Michael Remodeling. read more

We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the project that Michael and team completed. We had the wild idea of turning a closet into a bathroom to create a guest suite, and they brought that to life quickly and easily. Our project consisted of creating a brand new full bathroom (plumbing and all) out of a closet, then rebuilding a new closet in the guest room, plus updating all of the tile in a separate bathroom. They completed the project faster than expected, communication and estimate were clear along the way, and the team was clean, respectful, punctual, responsive and extremely hard working. They cleaned up after each day and made the process smooth and easy for us. We highly recommend Michael Remodeling. read more

Michael Remodeling Corp. just finished a gut renovation of our bathroom. This is the second bathroom Michael has renovated for us and we are just as happy this time as we were with the reno he did last year. We were so pleased with his last renovation that we never even considered working with anyone else. We just asked Michael how much and when, He is a true professional. He is always thinking one step ahead and just when you think you have a huge problem (as is the case with all renovations) Michael already has the solution planned. It's a pleasure working with someone so competent, patient and easy going. We are already looking forward to working with MRC on a kitchen renovation in the near future. Michael did a fantastic job on my bathroom remodel in my condo! It was a full gut tearing out the flooring and existing tub and replacing it with a walk in shower with all new flooring and vanities ect. From day one he was responsive and did what he said he would, when he said he would. When I requested a formal quote he got it to me within 24 hrs. Many of the other top rated contractors on the yelp list never sent me the quote or ever even followed up. He was much more price effective than some of those other contractors who quoted me on the spot but never sent it in writing. Make what you will of that. The job took a little longer than expected but it wasn't his fault. Overall I am very happy with the work and would definitely use him again in the future! read more

Contracted Micheal and his team for a partial demo of my kitchen counters. I had reached out to a few remodeling companies in the area and he was the only one to respond and set up a prompt estimate evaluation. Within a week he was able to come out and take out my old counters and do some electrical and plumbing work too. It was all done within a day. It looks good and saved me some money compared to the big box store. It's going to be very easy for the rest of the job to get done now! Thanks for everything! read more

Michael and his team remodeled both of the bathrooms in our condo. He and his team were fantastic! We didn't know what to expect with our first renovation experience, but Michael gave us a quote quickly that was close to half of what we got from others. Plus, they were fast! No one else said they could do the job by the time we'd have guests, but Michael and his team started the job only two weeks after the quote and worked at our place every weekday until it was complete (and even one Saturday). He was very responsive to our many questions and even suggested some things for us to buy we wouldn't have known about (or bought them himself and saved the receipts). We got the quartz countertop for the master bath through him, too, and he handled everything. The bathrooms look great, and we'll certainly have him back for our next project. read more

We engaged Michael & his team for our basement remodeling. This was about a 6-7 week job in which the crew was out every day. It was an extensive job (framing & drywall throughout, 2 bedrooms, a mudroom, a rec room, and a full bath). The basement was completely unfinished before and we wanted a fully livable space afterwards. As my wife & I are relative novices when it comes to renovation, Michael worked with us to explain the more complex aspects of the job, and when we'd need to have certain components (the vanity sink, shower materials, etc.). We also had a few additional things at the end that we decided we wanted (after seeing the nearly completed space), and Michael helped us ensure those could get done to our satisfaction. We started by using Yelp reviews to figure out which contractors to use, and the good reviews of Michael's company definitely did not let me down! Their work was efficient and very high quality. I would definitely use Michael & crew again for any similar projects in the future! read more

Michael and his colleague did a fantastic job on our small bathroom renovation. The work was reasonably priced, they were always punctual, and best of all, finished within the timeframe I was told. He was also able to start essentially a week after I signed the contract, as well. The renovation was mostly cosmetic, as we originally thought we had a plumbing issue, but Michael was able to figure out that we didn't without having to destroy our downstairs neighbor's ceiling. Everything was taken out except the tub (it's cast iron!), and they put new tile on the shower wall and floor, new plumbing fixtures, installed a new vanity light, toilet, and hardware, as well as new drywall and paint. Michael and Edward also took great care in installing the floating vanity, as our two kids primarily use the bathroom, to ensure it is securely on the wall. Michael even helped me assemble the vanity I ordered. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of the work and would definitely hire and recommend Michael Contracting again. read more

Michael and his fantastic team remodeled the only bathroom in our condo. When we were initially searching for contractors, we were getting outrageous quotes if we were even lucky enough to get a response at all. Michael, on the other hand, was incredibly responsive, gave us a super competitive quote, and committed to finishing the project in one week. Ambitious. We gathered up all of the materials and work started within three weeks of our initial conversation. Michael and his team showed up every morning promptly at 8:00 AM and worked until 5:00 PM every evening. They were clean, quick, incredibly professional, and provided a high-quality result. This was our first time doing a project like this, so Michael actually helped us through the whole thing, explaining everything that he was working on and even providing some items that we missed and saved his receipts. He finished the project as quoted and even did a little extra work for us within that timeline and the results speak for themselves. To say that we are pleased with him and his team's work would be an understatement. 10/10 would recommend him and WILL be using him again for our future projects. read more

Highly recommend Michael to anyone. After having a handyman attempt to hang a tv unsuccessfully, needed to hire a real professional. Michael & team took down the drywall, reinforced and did a superb job w/ cleanup, painting and hanging the TV. Michael and his team did a good job adding a pantry to my home. The project was an idea I had to minimize an eye sore of an overhead of a stairwell left after an addition was done. There was basically a gigantic box about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide in my corner of my living room. Michael took my idea, framed out the wall; retrimmed the ceiling/walls and did what I asked of him. He completed the job needing one extra day but overall did a wonderful job, was kind, professional and honest. I was happy to support a small business and hard working man like Michael. read more

So disappointed with the work that Michael & team did on our bathroom re-tiling. The tile work looks unprofessional and sloppy; the tile pattern is different in various parts of the floor and is immediately noticeable in the small space. Tiles are crooked, etc. The grout is unevenly and messily applied. They left holes in the floor where there should be tiles. I don't realistically see any way to repair the work without re-doing the entire floor. Michael asked to be given the opportunity to fix the work, but we passed. While Michael was very responsive about scheduling the assessment and the job, we had some communication issues. This was a two day job for a one-bathroom condo in Chicago. Since there is no common bathroom in our building, we went out of our way to confirm multiple times with him during the assessment and before scheduling the job that he would replace the toilet at the end of the first day. Instead, our toilet was left sitting in the middle of our bedroom floor at the end of Day 1. There was a bucket of toilet water in our living room, immediately next to the crate for our two dogs. In order to have access to a working toilet, we had to scramble to find a hotel room in the city at the last minute that would allow us to bring our dogs. Stressful and expensive. read more

I work in Finance and I'm a very distrusting person. I went through about 10 listings in Angi and Yelp listings to find someone who told me the truth when it came to my renovations. Michael provided an actual detailed estimate and didn't deviate unless it was called for. When it was called for, he let me know immediately and it was obvious he was correct. The process was a whirlwind, but in the end I was so happy with the result. It may take you some time to get on Michael's calendar, but understand why that is... he is very good at what he does. In short, you would be a fool not to hire him. read more

My husband and I are very happy with the final product for our two-bathroom remodel, which involved retiling a shower and two floors, painting, and installing new vanities and fixtures. He was responsive when I reached out for a quote and upfront in giving us an estimated start date about two months out. Though Michael had to push back the start date by three days, he stuck to his estimated timeframe of two weeks. He and his employee worked diligently during those two weeks, arriving at 8am and working until 5pm. They were respectful of our space, keeping workspace as clean as can be expected during the process and cleaning up when they were finished. Michael and his team are excellent at tile work and painting. I could not be more impressed with how the tile turned out. Perhaps due to the speed at which they were working, there were issues with the insulation with one of the vanities and a couple of the fixtures. I addressed my concerns with Michael and he was quick to address these issues. Overall, Michael is responsive, professional, and easy to work with. read more

First, I called and the person who answered the phone said they were "all booked up." I didn't know if that meant estimate appointments or jobs. So, I sent a request for an estimate through Yelp. Got a reply back at to dates that would work. I replied with a few dates. When the first date passed, I sent another message with revised dates. Never heard from them. So, I'm assuming they are too busy or are poorly staffed to handle estimate request. Either way, not a good way to treat a potential client. I was lucky to find Michael Remodeling here on yelp. My basement bathroom project had a laundry list of tasks. Both shower and sink lines moved to adjacent walls, so drain and vent pipes also had to move. This meant digging. Michael remodeled my bathroom and I can't say enough good things about working with him. From start to finish it was a great experience. I am still in awe of how beautiful our new home is thanks to Michael and his team. I don't know where to begin! We bought a new condo at the beginning of April and hired Michael to do a complete gut and remodel of the master bathroom and updates in the kitchen. Starting with the basics, Michael is extremely responsive, polite and professional. I received quotes less than 24 hours after discussing projects, and work started 1-2 days after I signed the quote. Michael and his team have to be the hardest working contractors in Chicago. They showed up every single day, usually as early as 8am, and spent multiple weekends working on our home. I had a dream of completing the renovations by the time we moved in, and all other contractors I spoke to told me it couldn't happen that quickly and not on my budget. Michael met both my time and cost expectations and delivered a result FAR beyond my expectations. Multiple times, Michael went above and beyond what would be expected of a contractor. He drove to pick up tiles in Franklin Park, purchased paint for me, and made numerous Home Depot trips for hardware and other items. This was my first time doing a renovation, and Michael was patient and flexible. I texted him about things daily, and he responded promptly every time. He saved every single receipt for me to review at the end and even pointed out that he over-charged me by $600 on my final quote and remedied the error (which I would not have noticed on my own). The team is incredibly honest and genuine and delivered an absolutely beautiful final product. I ordered quartz for both the bathroom and kitchen through Michael, and he had a ton of samples for me to choose from and coordinated the entire process. I also ordered glass for the shower door through Michael, and he had a wonderful third-party glass company install the panels. I really cannot say enough good things. The tile work is stunning and I am so grateful we found Michael to make our new condo feel like our home. I 100% recommend Michael Remodeling and will be using him for all future projects - however, I have a feeling he is going to be booked up for years in advance once the word spreads about how awesome these guys are.
