Best eye doctor EVER. I've been going to these guys ever since I was a little kid, and they have taken FANTASTIC care of me at every turn. Glasses in 3rd grade, check, contacts around 7th or 8th, check-- I don't even live in Virginia anymore but I'll still be sure to schedule a visit when I'm in town to see family or friends. First off, the office is really nice. The waiting room has these super comfy leather couches and the exam rooms have nice carpet and magazines and such. That said, I was less than thrilled with my overall experience. The doctor who examined my eyes was less than thorough, and didn't do a good job of explaining things. ("Would I be a good candidate for lasik one day?" "No." "Why not?" "Your prescription is too bad." Further prodding got not explanation of what "bad" meant, or if it would ever change...) The whole appointment lasted less than 30 minutes, she prescribed the exact same contacts I was currently wearing (said it would be too tedious to try different lenses, despite me not seeing well out of my current ones). After this lovely experience, my bill came to almost $400. WITH FULL INSURANCE. They charged extra for a "specialty exam" for my astigmatism, despite doing nothing differently than any other eye dr ever has, and told me I had to order a whole year's worth of contacts. I protested, and asked for my prescription to take elsewhere, and they said they wouldn't give it to me until I ordered from them. (that's ILLEGAL, btw). I ended up leaving, super flustered, and having my husband go back in the afternoon to sort it out. I won't be going back there again. For the price, I can do much better. read more

I purchased glasses here after having the exam done elsewhere by an opthamologist. When I picked up my glasses (they failed to call me to tell me they were ready, BTW), I could not see clearly out of the right lens. The optician told me to try them for awhile. So I took them home. I should have asked her to check the glasses to see if they matched the prescription. After a week of wearing them I compared these glasses with an older pair and discovered letters appeared double with the new pair. I took them back and was seen by the head optician. He checked the glasses and they did match the prescription, so I knew then the prescription was wrong. He told me I could have a refraction done by one of their optometrists for $45, or I could go back to the prescribing dr. I certainly wasn't going back to someone who made such a huge error. I saw Dr Kim, and he was so thorough and nice. He wrote a new prescription and had the head optometrist make up a pair of mockups for me to try. I could see perfectly with that, so new glasses were ordered. I was very impressed with Dr Kim and Mr Wolford, the optician. In the future, I will be going here for exams and glasses. read more

As a practicing retina specialist in the Fairfax area, I've worked along with Dr. Davidson for almost 15 years as he has allowed me the privilege of caring for his patients with retina problems. i've been to this practice for the second time and still never got satisfied with the service there. don't get me wrong, the office is super nice, but the system is terrible. i was handled by 7 different staffs plus the doctor. after i got my exam done and put on a new pair of contact lens then i was shuffled to a room for 50 minutes without anybody helping me. the lack of communication between the staff and the doctor is ridiculous. finally i spent over 2.5 hour in this office. and still the most important prespcition paper, they were out and said to mail to me, i doubt they will remember that. read more

I've been coming here for several years and have become increasingly disappointed. One, they could not keep our insurance updated and drastically overcharged my husband. Two, my prescriptions do not seem to be the best anymore. Three, they gave me one appointment, then said it wasn't there although i still had it confirmed on my calendar and gave me one for a day I was not available. Time to move on. read more

After relocating to the DMV area from PA... I must say this is by far the best experience I have ever had at any eye doctor, and that says a lot I have been wearing glasses and contacts since I was 12! I would recommend Dr Michael J Davidson, OD to all my friends and family, because he took the time to ask me questions I have never been asked before about my glasses and contacts. Because of his questions my vision is so much clearer and crisp. The experience walking into his office was amazing, I was welcomed the second I walked in by a wonderful staff the helped me complete all my paperwork properly, because who likes to do paperwork? I was all on a computer... His office has so much technology that assures you that things will be done properly... I had my first appointment there today and they were amazing!! Not only do I feel very confident with both my eye glass and contact lens prescription, but they thoroughly researched what my insurance company covers, and ended up saving me a bundle! Besides that, Dr. Kim also suggested a different type of contact lens than I usually use and gave me a bunch of samples to try. This brand is cheaper but just as good. To top it all off, they're in my neighborhood. I'll definitely be back! read more

I must say this is the best eye experience my eyes ever had... Upon my arrival to see Dr Davidson I was welcome into his practice I was embraced by his staff who took their time to help me threw the usual boring paperwork, which to my surprise was very quick and easy. By the time I was finished I was seeing the Dr. You can tell by the Decor and electronics in his practice they go the extra mile to make sure your visit is done correctly the first time. I have been seeing Dr Davidson for more than 15 years and have worn contacts for 50 years. I pay close attention to my eyes. I have been consistently pleased with my care and followup. I even called to voice a concern that my latest prescription was a little troublesome and was seen immediately. It is true that Dr Davidson sees fewer patients than he once did, but he still sees me and I am thankful, he does good work. They have handled insurances well and are pleasant to deal with. A pretty crisply run place. I dread the day Dr Davidson retires. read more

My brother and I came here for four years I think. Since we had problems with our other eye doctor. We both use glasses. I came here recently with no insurance this year and they had a great plan for me to get my contact since I am a contacts user. They had a plan that $210 for the eye exam, contact fitting and helping to put you contacts. I forgot the technician name but she was very helpful and love small talk ! She was the same technician when my brother first came in and he was only six years old. And she help him and made him feel so comfortable! He doesn't like coming to eye doctor but she and the doctor change that. We seen two doctor. Dr. Kim and Dr. Davidson, they would AWESOME! They love to make you feel comfortable during the exams! I didn't panicked at all. What made me feel relieve is my brother actually love going there. He kept telling my mother how good they were. And show off his great glasses ! I'm currently having a lot of twitching in my right eye and difficulty reading text. I've had better prescriptions at a target down the road, DO NOT go here. Ender Adam, who gave me an exam was not thorough at all, and thus I got a terrible prescription and I hate it when you pickup your glasses and you can't see right, then you have to convince them that they are wrong. They are MY EYES, don't you think I know when something is off you buffoon? Don't waste your money or your time, the office is nice but the staff is completely incompetent. read more

Beware! My visit was VERY long (4 hours), VERY frustrating, and VERY expensive ($600 w/ insurance!!). I did not have issues with the contacts that I have been wearing for the last four years. I just needed a new prescription, because I buy my contacts online. First, Dr. Adam was not clear on the results of my exam. He transferred me to an assistant, who got frustrated that she couldn't find a lens that I could see properly in. She told me she would be right back and then someone else came to help to start the same process all over again. He helped me for awhile and then he transferred me to someone else to do it all over again! The assistants took my glasses three times to test them to see what I was used to. I don't think it changed from the first time they checked. Waste of time! In the end, the doctor told me that I have astigmatism in one eye, which I have never had before, and my prescription went up 2.0 more, when nothing was wrong with my sight to begin with. By the fourth hour, I was so exhausted and just agreed I would try their recommendation to get out of there. An eye doctor appointment should NEVER be 4 hours long. I am usually in and out in less than an hour. An experienced doctor should be able to assess my eyes and know what to give in a timely manner. read more

First off, it takes a whole lot for me to write a negative review of a place, but they've ruined my day on so many occasions it's finally worth addressing. As previous reviews mentioned, this place used to be great. WAY WAY back in the day. Absolutely horrible now. Let me give you just a few examples. First off, they are terrible at making/matching lenses. From just the few sets I've gotten - We're talking screwed up anti-reflective coatings, spider lines, and terrible fits in the frames. Trying to get help in fixing your current pair? They will tell you nothing is wrong or you simply need a new pair. Yeah I wouldn't if you didn't screw them up in the first place!? And the staff thinks they're soooo attractive they can be as rude, bossy, and unhelpful as they please. Give me a break, get over yourselves. They lack both training and professionalism. The doctors are relatively unhelpful in most areas (except maybe lasik which I have zero interest in), I've gone in there a few times with a few problems/complaints and was essentially told I was nuts. They got my contact prescription wrong 3 years strait, they never fit right and I could always tell something wasn't quite right - and even after bringing this to their attention they never could get it right. My new optometrist was able to get it right in 5 minutes, and my new contacts actually FIT! You know - maybe they weren't actually any good back in the day, maybe I was just too young and had never realized there were much much better offices out there. Couldn't pay me to go back, I sincerely hope they lose all their business one day as it is well-deserved. read more
