I was just turned away from an appointment for my son at this disgusting excuse for an…read moreophthalmologist's office because the office assistant they sent out to greet and "screen" us took it upon herself to diagnose my son (who is 1 year old, and in daycare) with an affirmative cold. He exhibited no signs of coughing, sneezing, hacking, or leaking of fluids from any visible cavities. All she needed to hear was that he may have a cold (mind you - it is fall, it is NJ, and he is in daycare). The office refused to see us and suggested we book another appointment. Mind you - we waited 3 MONTHS for this appointment! They did not even have the common sense to verify whether he was sick, literally not even seeing him to check if he had a fever, cough, or any other VERIFIED symptoms of being ill. Not to mention, doctors have a duty of care to their patients. My son could have been going blind and needed to be immediately seen and diagnosed. They did not give one ounce of care. On top of that, the office manager came out to try and diffuse the situation and basically confirmed they were taking the word of their unqualified staff member who did nothing to verify anything except ask two questions, over the parent, who lives with the child every day. I've never felt such a level of disgust and shame towards a medical professional. Would not recommend going here if you want to treated like a human being, or cherish your time and sanity. I also asked if I bought the frames online could they just do the lenses as another shop gave that option. Spoke to the office manager, who apologized and said if we wanted the glasses she would be more then happy to talk to Nicole and have them done...week later I call to order and office manager tells Nicole is too uncomfortable to work with us and take our business elsewhere.
