As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the reception front desk. They took my info down. Heads up to anyone who's reading this, they have a new patient's form on their website so you could fill it out before hand, which was what I did so I didn't have to wait long. The optometrist, Dr. Lisa Ruffle, was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable about my eyes and caring towards me as a patient. She listened to my concerns and attended them. Even though this was my first time at the office, she treated me as if I was her patient for a long time and knew my concerns right away. Overall, great experience. I definitely hope I would continue to be their patient so long as I live in the area and they continue to accept my insurance.

Due to COVID-19, call ahead to make an appointment to look at frames! The people here were great and did not show even an ounce of annoyance as I essentially tried on every single pair of frames even in the store -- even though that meant they would then have to sanitize each and every pair. Once I selected a pair and worked with an optician to place the order, we ran into a roadblock with my insurance, as another provider had already submitted a request for benefits authorization. Rather than telling me to leave and figure it out with my insurance, one of the opticians called my insurance directly and got the issue resolved while I waited. I was quoted 1-2 weeks for my new glasses to be ready, and to my surprise, I got a text the next morning that my glasses were ready! My glasses were fine when I picked them up, but later that night I noticed there was a very small crack in one of the lenses. I brought them in the next day and Flanders Family Eyecare replaced the lens free of charge. Again, I was quoted 1-2 weeks for the replacement, yet they were ready the next day. Such a quick turnaround time and a very wide selection of styles!

However, fees were never discussed prior to the exam. They had me sign that I received my prescriptions BEFORE I even saw the doctor. When I questioned this they said it was for insurance purposes. There was also a $39 fee for a "picture" of your eye that you had to sign for. Get this, the picture was mandatory but they only charged the $39 if you wanted the doctor to read it. Wait, What? Then they charged $90 for the contact FIT fee. When I debated the charges, they wouldn't give me my contact lens prescription! Yet they had me sign before the exam that I received it! The doctor and pre-exam staff were friendly and helpful, but the billing woman was not, and I felt pressured into their office procedure nonsense. I just wanted a simple eye exam.

When the exams were completed, it's almost as if the previous receptionist didn't even know us. She just pointed that he will help you. I went to see what were my options for new frames for both me and my daughter. Again, we were being up charged on the frames and possibly the lenses. I didn't move forward with the purchase at Hackettstown Pearl Vision as we would have ended up paying $1,000 or more. And that's with insurance. Feeling cheated at Pearlvision and getting bad vibes drove me to LensCrafters.'I got what I wanted elsewhere and am satisfied!!

I can't speak poorly enough of my experience with Dr. Miller. I made an appointment and was called…read moreright back and asked to come in earlier. Since I was working I said I would come as early as I could. When I arrived, I asked for my eyes to be dialated. The whole exam lasted about 6 minutes. The doctor mocked my response when I said I was having a hard time differentiating the colors and then went on a rant about jehovas witnesses. Also, never dialating my eyes. Gave me a bizarre prescription sent me out to the sales woman and to look at glasses while him and his staff packed up their things and left (it was 4:30.) A week later I went for a second opinion and they dialated my eyes and saw burst blood vessels and took my blood pressure that was 240/180 and sent me to the hospital where they addressed what was wrong. If Dr. Miller cared more about his patients and less about running out the door, maybe he would have been able to fix this earlier. I will continue to tell everyone what an awful doctor this man is.

I was told by one Doctor to take them out for two days and wear them for one day. This was unexceptionable! I received a recommendation through a friend and scheduled an appointment. After two trials with different Contact Lens companies, Dr. Miller was able to find the right match and by finding an Astigmatism. He is patient, thorough and goes the extra mile.
