Doctor Michael Murzyn is the most experienced and careful dentist ever. I have been his patient for many years.

I don't even know where to begin, this was truly a 10/10 experience…read more I came in for an emergency dental visit, and they took me in immediately, no hassle, no runaround. Even though the office was clearly busy, I never once felt rushed or like just another patient on a list. The entire team was incredibly attentive and genuinely focused on making sure I was comfortable and okay. I ended up needing a crown, and they handled everything right then and there, no temporary fix, no waiting weeks for a crown. The fact that they were able to complete the entire procedure on the spot was impressive on its own, but what stood out even more was the quality of the work and the care behind it. Jackie and Dr. Rob were exceptional. They walked me through everything, made sure I felt at ease, and checked in constantly throughout the process. For something that could have been stressful, they made it seamless. I'm beyond grateful for the level of professionalism, efficiency, and compassion I experienced. Couldn't recommend them more. Thank you again! Ps: even got an eye mask and hand mask to relax later!

The doctor repeatedly emphasized how busy he is, which came across as rushed and somewhat dismissive. Before proceeding with treatment (Botox for TMJ), I reached out via email and phone with specific questions, including a request for him to consult with my neurologist, which my neurologist recommended. I was told that the doctor deemed the consultation unnecessary and that he would address any questions at the time of the appointment. I was also told he was too busy to review my questions in advance. This made it difficult to feel fully informed or confident going into the procedure. I decided to pursue the procedure anyway. To his credit, during the procedure he did answer my questions and agreed to treat the requested area. However, at my two-week follow-up, I reported increased pain that had been impacting my ability to work and function. The doctor shared a story about another patient he described as someone who complains all the time. The story felt indirect but strongly implied that patient concerns like mine might be exaggerated. This made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed at a time when I was seeking support and clarity about worsening symptoms. Additionally, while in the waiting room, I observed another patient being questioned in a similarly dismissive tone when she asked for additional help post-treatment. This reinforced my concern about how patient concerns are handled in this practice. Overall, while the procedure itself was completed, the communication style, lack of responsiveness beforehand, and dismissive handling of post-procedure concerns made this a negative experience. I would encourage others to ask detailed questions in advance and consider whether this practice is a good fit for them. Long-term results of my treatment experience are yet to be determined, but I will not be returning due to the unprofessional manner in which the provider speaks about, and to, patients.

Referrals are…read morethe best way to find a great doctor, and I truly want people to be able to find a dentist as good as I did. Dr. Dow has completely changed my view on dentistry. I used to dread going to the dentist, and I had a lot of anxiety around it, but he has completely eased that. Now I actually enjoy going because of him and his team. He goes above and beyond his role to make sure you're not only taken care of, but genuinely comfortable. You can tell he truly cares about you as a patient and as a person - not just as a number or a paycheck. As someone who has had severest of autoimmune disease issues and life altering anxiety a very long time, I've experienced both really great doctors and really disappointing ones. This is actually the first review I've ever left because I think it's important for people to understand the difference... and Dr. Dow is exactly what a doctor should be. I had been searching for a dentist for almost a year after moving to Chicago in 2023, and I'm so glad I didn't settle for anyone else. They are the absolute best. His team even calls after certain exams or procedures just to make sure I'm doing okay... which is honestly unheard of these days. If you're looking for a professional, highly skilled, and incredibly knowledgeable dentist, you've found the right place. And if you want someone who truly values you and your time and goes above and beyond for his patients, this is 100% your doctor. I'm genuinely excited to continue a lifelong partnership with Dr. Dow as my dentist--and you should absolutely do the same. Him and his team are unmatched!

I have been struggling with jaw pain for a year and a half. My dentist really was of no help. He…read moreonly recommended $900 Botox every 3 months and a $350 night guard that just made everything worse. Being desperate, I posted on socials looking for any recommendations. A friend of a friend recommended Chicago Style Smiles to me and I can see why. Staff and Dr. Fisher were incredibly nice. And while I would highly recommend this place for your usual dental needs, I unfortunately do not recommend for TMJ Disorders. Dr. Fisher fit me for a deprogrammer, essentially to fix my bite and to help with what I had. However, after going to a new doctor, my issues aren't because of my bite. My bite is perfectly fine. I was in so much pain from wearing the deprogrammer that I was completely bed ridden. I've now learned that if someone with TMJ disc displacement wears a deprogrammer, it's putting even more compression on the already displaced joint. There was no prior imaging ordered, not anything to determine if this would be the right treatment for me. After I gave up with wearing it, Dr. fisher then asked if it was a muscle issue or a joint issue. How am I to know? I'm not the doctor. I wish that options could have been laid out for me ahead of time. If it's muscle related, the deprogrammer may help. If it's joint related, it's going to make it worse and not help. I can either be referred to a specialist and get imaging done, then go from there to determine if it's muscle or joint OR I can take the gamble, pay the $500 and see if the deprogrammer does help. Those options were not laid out for me unfortunately, and it was presented to me as if this deprogrammer would help. It never was mentioned the possibility that it could make it much worse if its joint related. I'm now seeing a TMJ specialist in Shorewood and I've gotten an MRI. My MRI showed an anteriorly displaced disc on my left and my right is so displaced that I'm bone to bone. I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly dangerous it is to wear a deprogrammer if you have displaced TMJ's. Dangerous because the pain is so severe. I was disoriented, extreme migraines, I literally couldn't even eat for days. I want to be very clear that I think Dr. Fisher is a great person, wants what's best for his patients and would be wonderful for your typical dentistry needs. With that said, PLEASE, if you have clicking, popping in your jaw and severe pain, please do not pay $500 out of pocket and get a deprogrammer. It was a waste of my time and a waste of $500 that I didn't even have at the time but was so desperate for some help and relief that I paid it :( I genuinely feel like the least he could have done was offer a refund. It isn't right to give treatments to patients when you don't even know if it is the right one. I needed a proper diagnoses first and because I wasn't given one, I was out of work for a whole week, and on bed rest from the pain. Again, my intention isn't to bash Dr. Fisher, I truly think he's a good doctor, but just isn't educated enough to treat TMJ disorder. The disorder is already so hard to find treatment for and insurance rarely covers for it. It's easy to get desperate like me and just pay. Please see an orofacial pain specialist and if your dentist isn't board certified in orofacial pain, they'll likely throw temporary bandaids at you while you have to pay out of pocket. General dentists unfortunately are not trained and educated for treating this horrible disorder.

Before the appointment, Seida repeatedly assured me the office would submit a pre-estimate to insurance and only charge me my patient responsibility amount. After multiple calls with my insurance company, it was discovered Brighter Dental had been faxing the paperwork to the wrong number. The issue was finally corrected during a conference call with insurance and the office. Despite the pre-estimate being approved before my appointment, I was told by Seida and Luca that I had to pay the full amount upfront or they would not proceed. Seida claimed no memory of the aforementioned conference call, and I had no choice but to pay or remain untreated and in pain. At my follow-up appointment, insurance had already paid the claim electronically, but the office delayed reimbursing the overpayment and gave conflicting timelines for a refund. They also refused to refund the original credit card and insisted on mailing a check instead. After repeated vague promises and no reimbursement, I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Due to their refusal to honor the insurance allowed amounts, I overpaid by several hundred dollars. I later received a threatening letter accusing me of fraud because of the charge dispute, even though the office had still not refunded the overpayment at the time of the dispute. This was a disturbing experience.

It has taken me quite some time to reflect upon this before writing a review. The Chicago Dental…read moreStudio is a decent facility overall, but I could never in good conscience recommend seeking dental care here due to Dr. Bosworth. The first issue that occurred is when I had a dental procedure performed. After injecting lidocaine, it took some time for Dr. Bosworth to come back and check on me. During the beginning of the procedure, he left the room to see other patients and didn't return for almost an hour. At that point, the local anesthesia had worn off and I had to undergo another unnecessary painful injection. It is quite obvious that Dr. Bosworth was juggling multiple patients at one time. This seems to be to maximize profit rather than actually focusing on providing quality care to each individual at a time. This was a scheduled appointment and it is never acceptable for a patient to have a needle stuck in their mouth, and then be essentially ignored for an hour, and then have to be stuck again just due to the wait. The second and much more concerning issue was regarding a crown that was placed. I had a root canal performed years before. Dr. Bosworth placed a crown over this area. Several month's later, I started having pain. When I saw Dr. Bosworth, he assured me that could not be the case since I should have no sensation in the area with the nerve already removed. I mentioned this several additional times and each time Dr. Bosworth wrote me off and ignored my concerns. I came to find out that there may sometimes be accessory nerves that may remain after a root canal and could absolutely continue to cause pain. I mentioned this to Dr. Bosworth yet again and he essentially told me that this was not the case and that my pain was from something else. Fast forward to a year later and I saw a different dentist as the pain was getting worse. They performed imaging and confirmed I had an accessory nerve in place that was indeed infected. The infection was too significant and had been occurring for so long that they would not be able to drill through the crown and tooth to treat the infection. I ended up having to spend thousands of dollars and go through several painful procedures to have the tooth extracted, then months later have a post placed, and then ultimately have another crown placed. I was informed by my new care team that this all could have been avoided if the accessory nerve infection was treated initially. This is despite me laying out the exact diagnosis for Dr. Bosworth. It is concerning that he lacks this medical knowledge despite his training, and even more concerning that this is the case after his patient had handed him the exact diagnosis. The pain and cost that I sustained due to Dr. Bosoworth's negligence is something I will always regret. I should have never gone to this dentist. I can't change what happened, but I would like to warn anyone thinking of seeking dental care here.
