I received a gorgeous flower arrangement at work on my birthday from Michael Designs Florist. My fiance called and asked if there was any way a same day delivery could be made and despite being very busy and it being wedding season they obliged him. The gentleman who delivered the flowers (perhaps Michael) instructed me on how to care for the flowers and was very friendly. Next time I am in need of flowers I will think to this small business. They came in a lovely re-usable glass container and capture the spring floral color palette perfectly. It was such a nice surprise at work and shows what great customer service they execute be the job big or small. read more

I called Michael Designs the morning of my mother's birthday. The man on the phone was extremely helpful. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to flowers but he walked me through options & had quite a few suggestions. i relied mostly on his expertise. I got a call from my mother who was ecstatic about the arrangement. My father who is an avid gardner knows a bit about this stuff and was very impressed with the selection & quality of the flowers. The delivery person also gave my mother helpful instructions for their care. All in all a great experience. read more

Found these guys on YELP and though I had seen their location on MD Ave, it's no longer there. Now they operate our of their home. So easy to work with the designs were from my mind to their vases. It was just wast we wanted. They delivered and came back to pick up the vases a week later. Even though I chose some delicate flowers, they lasted a full week, so I know they were fresh cut! I called from Seattle, wanting to send a bouquet to my friends in Annapolis. They did a beautiful job, I was very impressed.

all of my family lives out of state and i am a big time believer in the sentiment of sending flowers. to date i've had not so great luck with choosing out of state florists, so usually i end up keeping it simple in fear that something horrific and suitable for a funeral will end up on the doorstep of my loved ones. this morning my little sister had an emergency surgery, i called micheal designs and within a few hours delivered to her room was an awesome architectutral arrangement of green and white orchids donned with a few christmas balls for kitsch value. this was actually something unique and different, and my only requests were no carnations, no baby's breath, no pink and no "FTD basket of cheer" crap. he really came through, even at 3000 miles away with very little instruction. all of this for only $65.00 plus delivery! where i live that'll only get you a dozen crappy roses if you're lucky. i really hope no more of my family members end up in the hospital, but i'll be sure to use him for all future mother's days, birthdays, new babies and engagements! read more

Jim and his team did a fantastic job for our wedding and reception at London Town and Gardens. We met with him about 6 weeks before and he pulled a bunch of flowers from his cooler to show us his vision for our wedding based on the photos and ideas I had emailed him. He was very easy to work with and did a beautiful job. Everything was in place at the right time and was exactly as we discussed. He even augmented some of the jars I provided to make the cluster of flowers at the center of every table even more robust. I heard so many compliments about the flowers. They looked and smelled awesome. The centerpieces were still alive 10 days later so I know he used fresh high quality flowers. I am excited to recommend Michael Designs Florist. I can't say enough about the quality and exceptional customer service provided by Michael Designs. We recently had a large wedding, and the flowers were absolutely beautiful. The centerpieces were of different designs, creating depth and a stunning visual appearance. The whole experience of working with Michael Designs was perfect! We met twice before the wedding, and both times were productive and fun, and the flowers were stunning. Jim is amazing - he is very easy to talk to, easy to get in touch with, and most importantly, he is a phenomenal artist! His ideas made our wedding flowers and tables come to life. My bouquet and all of the bridesmaids bouquets were delivered right on time to the place we were getting ready, and they were stunning! We had a nautical themed wedding, with red flowers and navy/white accents. Since it was a hot July day, we were instructed to keep the flowers in water as much as possible, and they looked perfect all the way through the reception - a full 12 hours after they were delivered! At the reception venue, the tables and decorations were also perfect. In the entrance room where the cake was displayed, Jim even designed a beautiful table with wooden ships surrounded by flowers that brought the whole theme together. I first found out about Michael Designs because I was very sick and Michael Designs was used to send me a luxurious bouquet of flowers. The flowers lasted weeks and were some of the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. I continue to use their vase as a centerpiece for my table when guest come around. It's a handsome piece of glasswork. While this is all very nice, what drove me to write a review (which I typically never do unless I find something is truly outstanding), is a flower arrangement for a friend that saved my life. This delivery should have been simple and very straight-forward, but it turned out to be something of an ordeal. Not only is the friend I purchased the flower bouquet/display for an occasionally high maintenance woman, but she had been forced to leave her job and move due to personal circumstances and the lagging economy. This was not the only challenging part of delivering this present. There were many challenges that occurred and needed immeditate resolution or delivery would have failed entirely. But absolutely every challenge was met and overcome. I won't go through the fine details, but, as she was leaving her home for the last time, the flowers were delivered. The efforts on the part of Michael Designs, her smile, and her thanks are memories that will last me a lifetime. Thank you, Michael Designs. You've earned a loyal customer. read more

I called Michael Designs from out of town, based only on their Yelp reviews and photos, to order flowers for my Sweetheart who was going to be visiting Annapolis. The person i talked with was incredibly patient with me on the phone and had a good sense of humor. When i saw the photo of what was delivered i was really moved by how beautiful it was. No florist has ever understood what i wanted better--even what i didn't know how to express. I loved the arrangement. And i'm really picky! And my Sweetheart was gushing. I was very satisfied with the service that I received with this Florist. They were polite and respectful. I live about 500 miles away and wanted to send flowers to a friend who had to put their cat down. I searched the internet and found this florist and e-mailed them about 8:00 PM that night. had to leave a message but shaun called me back within minutes, helped me choose an appropriate floral arrangement for my daughter's birthday, even looked at google earth to be sure she had a covered porch on which to safely leave the flowers and said he would call to be sure she would be home to get them due to the cold weather that would ruin the flowers if left out too long. all in all, very careful to be sure the arrangement got to her safely. i was pleasantly surprised at the attention to detail and will use this florist again. read more
