The ladies there created an absolutely stunning bouquet of white roses, baby's breath and a spray of orchids. Exactly what I had envisioned!! Following my wedding day, I also had an event later that week that I wanted to use the bouquet. Great customer service! And fairly priced boutonnières! One week before my daughters homecoming I went and explain to them what I wanted and they were able to piece it together perfectly. I was a little traumatized from last year because I went to a different florist and I was charged $34 for a boutonniere! This place was $14 which after reading online I realize it's fair and understanding the other place completely ripped me off. This florist gets five stars for me because they were ready on time very helpful and the young lady behind the counter was very happy to help me with any questions. Unfortunately, the delivery was made to the wrong location--her home address instead of her workplace. To make matters worse, the bouquet was not what I had ordered. The flowers were the wrong color, already old and fully bloomed, and the note had her name spelled incorrectly. When I reached out to address the situation, they promised to fix it by delivering the correct bouquet to her work the next day. However, they informed me they needed to retrieve the incorrect arrangement, which was never discussed or coordinated for a proper time. Without my approval or communication with my daughter (who has a busy schedule with kids and work), they showed up unannounced at her home. No one was there, and when they couldn't retrieve the flowers, the owner, Sadie, became irate. She complained about being "out $100," as if it was my fault for their poor planning, and her tone was extremely rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the delivery person blocked the driveway, essentially holding the nanny's car hostage because they believed someone was home and avoiding them. The owner even implied we were purposely ignoring them, which was entirely uncalled for. After being hung up on, I called my daughter with an exact ETA so they could retrieve the flowers, and I then called the florist back. They stated they would pass the message to the owner, but I guess she was too busy hanging up on another customer over $100. I have not heard back since, and I certainly will never order from here again. I'm not sure how many family-operated businesses care more about their money than the happiness of their customers, but this experience was a clear case of that. I would have been better off using 1-800-Flowers or another highly recommended florist in the area. This was a terrible experience from start to finish, with zero professionalism or care for customer satisfaction. Even though I specifically asked for red, you still decided to add white flowers instead. Regarding the delivery, I only agreed to have the flowers sent to my daughter's home because you mentioned that your family-owned business was short-staffed and wouldn't be able to deliver them before 5 PM when your shop closed. My preference was always to have them sent to her workplace, but I compromised based on your staffing issue. As for our phone call, I want to make it clear that I didn't just feel you hung up on me--I know for a fact that you did, as the phone was disconnected while I was still speaking. Your attitude during that call was nasty and uncalled for. I would never argue with a client about how much money I would be losing, especially when I was the one who initially messed up. Hanging up the phone on me only proved your lack of professionalism. You made accusations, and your tone was very negative, which I simply didn't appreciate. I never raised my voice or used profanity; I was just upset that things didn't go as I had planned and was trying to understand where the miscommunication happened. As for reaching out, there's no need. I called back twice and informed your team that the flowers you needed to urgently pick up were outside, waiting for you. Not one person reached out to confirm or follow up after that. If you truly wanted to make things right, I would have expected a proactive approach from you as the owner, but I haven't heard anything since making this review. No worries, though. I do not order flowers very often, but when I do, I always order them through this florist. Since we moved to the Odenton area over 25 years ago, I have used them for my floral needs. The staff is friendly, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. When I call and let them know the occasion and my budget, they give me multiple options and always provide a lot of variety. Most recently I ordered a bouquet for my mothers birthday, which she received today. My mother called me immediately because she was so surprised and delighted with the arrangement. The selection was bright and summerlike, and, per my request, all of the flowers were hearty and the kind that will last a long time. If you're looking for a fantastic florist, give this locally owned business a call and you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend! Our attempt to support our local florist was met with poor customer service and impolite management. As a lover of fresh cuts and having recently moved to the area, we have been considering moving our standing fill orders to Odenton Florist in an effort to "support local businesses". Before doing so, we opted to place a few orders. Now, I should preface this with the fact that we are flower people; meaning, we maintain fresh cuts in at least 3 rooms in the house daily. Florals are built into our household budget, and it is not uncommon for us to order supplemental arrangements for no reason other than a sheer love of flowers. In fact, it is hard for anyone working with flowers or involved with flowers in any capacity to offend us because flower people love flower people! That said, we ordered a floor plant from Odenton Florist when we first moved here and it went well. Just a few weeks ago, my health took a turn for the worst. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love flowers and so the bouquets began to arrive one by one. I took notice when my office sent me a lovely nosegay that was also designed by Odenton Florist. As I prepared for emergency surgery, during the pandemic, this meant no flowers or visitors were welcome to the hospital. So my family vowed to fill the home with my favorites, orchids and lillies, upon my return. I suggested they try Odenton Florist, and that was a HUGE MISTAKE on my part. When the arrangement arrived, it was missing the orchids altogether. Naturally, my family took notice immediately because I am so fond of them. They called the store immediately after delivery to alert them and a friendly customer service rep agreed to pass the call to management. That is where things went south pretty quickly. In fact, I shouldn't use the term south because most Southerners have manners. Whereas, this woman did not. She was rude, over-talking, and flat out inconsiderate. What I can tell you about the family member that placed the call, is that she is probably the kindest, most respectful person I know. Seriously. Having served in the military for many years and been raised right, every other word is yes ma'am or yes sir. So when I could hear the "manager" raising her voice at her through the phone, I was taken aback. She would not let her get in a word edgewise and kept insisting that she told her she did not have orchids. Now, that's where she went wrong because we would have hung up and gone with our typical florist or our wholesaler. She also had no issues charging full price for the arrangement, although the costly stems were missing altogether. This woman continued to go on and on without letting her speak at a decibel so loud I could hear her from my sick bed in another room. As painful as it was to sit up and speak, I asked for the phone. Once she handed me the phone, the manager was still going on and on until finally, I interrupted and asked her to come pick the arrangement up. Never in all my years, have I ever sent an arrangement back for any reason. When it comes to fresh cuts, almost any issue can be resolved. However, bad customer service, a poor attitude and an unwillingness to let the customer speak is not worth the headache. This was an awful customer service experience and I immediately alerted the rest of my family members and friends not to send me anything from this store during my recovery. While some phoned Annapolis and Bowie, I will tell you this, the arrangements received thus far look and smell a whole lot better because they were designed and delivered by floral industry professionals. My husband surprised me with hydrangeas for our anniversary this past Monday, May 21. Well the flowers Monday afternoon were beautiful, he was told from who knows to cut the flowers. I followed instructions, when I got home, found a nice flower vase, pruned the flowers, sadly because they didn't needed to be pruned and placed it in a nice and cool area in my living room. By the next morning the 3/4 of the flower arrangement were wilted, very depressing, does not look good or pretty at all. I told my husband thank you but don't you ever buy flower arrangements from this place. Even flowers from any grocery store around this place lasted longer than 12 hours. Sadie is a mother fucken liar and a bitch!!! My mom (she leaves in California) and husband ordered an arrangement for me for my birthday on Saturday March 4th to be delivered on the same day! Well it never got here and since they don't open Sundays we weren't able to talk to her until Today in the morning. Today at 9 30 am we received an email from Sadie saying that the base they order isn't available to please call to let her know which one we preferred. Well when we are on the phone she's telling us they never received our order They were just so damn Lazy to drop it off on Saturday. If they didn't received the order how on earth did she email my husband about the base???? Super unprofessional and never fucken apologized, in addition they are very over priced compared to the one on base. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND I have purchased many flower arrangements and have never encountered great customer service like I have here. I'm also a color designer and love there color uses and placements (hard to come by at an affordable price). The people who I speak with on the phone aren't chipper all the time because they are busy but you can tell they are listening and are willing to make any updates needed. (You don't give attitude then you don't receive it). The arrangement I ordered online wasn't going to look exactly like the photo so they reached out to let me know (which normally florists don't do that because in small print it always says "may be subject to changes"). Then she let me know they would text a photo to make sure I would be OK with the selection!?! Which is amazing, mind you I placed this order in a busy season and placed it a week and some in advance. I received a photo the day they made the arrangement and wasn't fully pleased with the updates so they fixed the two types of flowers I didn't care for and it was stunning! Dozens of colorful helium balloons delivered Friday afternoon. Dead Friday night. Early Saturday, called Odenton Florist - no answer. By mid-afternoon no one answers their phones, no answering machine. Finally, a woman answered with one-word "Hi." Immediately thinking I'd called someone's home, I didn't. It was their employee. I explained their balloons died quickly. Impulsively she said I had them outside (I didn't), or in a cold room (they weren't). Improperly handled? (No). Tiring of this nonsense, I asked for a manager. Their manager called back. Quickly saying our room was too cold. Asked, were the balloons outside? Then said we didn't read and follow ALL their attached 'handling instructions'. I thought she was trying to be funny! She was not. So, I checked our two dozen shriveled, deceased balloons. It looked like a latex crime-scene, but there were no instructions. She said balloons never last 12 hours, then talked about 'Hi-Float', that keeps balloons up 20 times longer. They've used it. It works. But won't offer it to customers? (We'd been their customer for 17 years!) I explained that dozens of new, dead balloons became a negative conversation starter - about her business. Their manager did NOT care! Reminding me, her employee didn't seem to care. Reminding me, their owner by not having an answering machine, seems uncaring, too. I was ending our call, she asked what did I want? "Nothing." I only called because you should know when customers are disappointed. Your inferior product triggered my calls, then arguing? Arguing about my home's ambient temperature (70 degrees). It's inappropriate! Again, I tried ending our call, she angrily interrupted my 'good-bye', asking again, what did I want? I wondered, did they forget that each customer contact builds up or knocks down reputations? So, I asked are they concerned about reviews on-line. She laughed, saying, "Write a review! No one reads them. No one!" Then said they'd send new balloons Monday... They did not. Finally, to us, Odenton Florist's service hasn't been great for a long time. The last time they disappointed us was with flowers. My wife, Patty, loves flowers. In our family, flowers are part of every significant event. December, a year ago, flowers were purchased for Patty. I needed those flowers to be great! Their flowers were not great, they were only almost good. It was during the festive holiday season right after Christmas. Their floral arrangements had problems. So, I called - no answer, no answering machine. Later, I left messages with employees, wanted to talk to the owner to explain the challenges, in a timely fashion. The "freshly cut" floral arrangements with fixable problems were just a few hundred yards from their store. The owner never called - Never! So, we were disappointed with the last flowers from Odenton Florist, for my wife's funeral, too. They think no ever reads reviews? So one day I'm running late for my anniversary. I remember seeing this place on drives and what not so I figured it was the perfect time to check them out. Location is right off the main road with a huge sign. Looks like a mom n pop operation. I love those. You generally get better service at those type of establishments. I park the Lamborghini out back and head inside. It's small and a little outdated on the inside. But that's ok, it's a flower shop after all. The flower price was a bit hefty. Nearly $40 for four roses and some filler flowers. But I knew the lady would love them so I obliged. I wouldn't go here expecting to have your socks blown off, but this place gets the job done. As far as customer service goes... I didn't really feel the love. One lady was helpful yet another one made me feel like my visit was disturbing something going on and I needed to get out. read more

I live in Odenton and I usually go to Baltimore or near the airport for flowers but given the time I got off both were closed. I know that flower shops get most of their orders over the phone or via the Internet. I was happy they could take my walk in request. I do think that if you have floral arrangements books than those arrangements should be available. I asked for an arrangement and I was asked to replace 3 of the flowers that were shown. Even that is understandable but if I want an arrangement for today I should never be presented with flowers that have not bloomed. That's unacceptable to do. I expressed multiple times that I needed the flowers for TODAY..yet I was told just as many times they will bloom in a few days.. well thanks for that information . Recieved a lovely Mother's Day arrangement that had it's own sense of flair in a beautiful purple vase accenting the lovely lilac colored roses. I've seen the Odenton florist in my travels and will have to stop in and see what specials they offer for happy hour. I have heard of happy hour for many other businesses but not for a floral shop. Good concept and I will have to add some photos of future purchases so that others will know of them. I recently ordered from the Odenton Florist for my Aunts funeral, I ordered 2 arrangements, one from my family and I, and one from my Mother, it was her sister that had passed. When I called, I talked to Sadie and explained what I wanted, When I got to the funeral home a week later, I was overwhelmed at how beautiful both arrangements were, they were the prettiest arrangements in the room. The arrangement she did for my mother was not your typical arrangement it was a heart shaped spray that was LOADED with flowers and absolutely breath taking. My mother was moved to tears, as this was not only her sister that had passed but her best friend also, and the flowers were a perfect tribute to her. They did a fantastic job at capturing exactly what I wanted. They are also doing my wedding flowers in less than 2 weeks, I know without a doubt they will be beautiful also. On a side note there are some that are blasting the florist, its really unfair, I have never ever had a problem with them in the 25+ years that I have been using them. You cannot predict the life of flowers, enjoy them while you can. If you are upset, call and talk to them, they are very fair, they will make it right. Don't blast them on social media, this is their reputation and stays with them, and to cuss and carry on, come on now, aren't we adults? I am just a customer, I am not related to them or know them personally, but reading the reviews and knowing how much people rely on reviews, its embarrassing that our home town florist has such vulgar language posted on their reviews. It won't let me give zero stars but I wish that I could. My boyfriend who is in the Air Force sent me a floral arrangement from out of state. The flowers were supposed to be delivered Wednesday by 5 PM - nothing had arrived. The next day around 1 PM, flowers were delivered to my work address. The arrangement was sparse and the roses looked yellowed and curled at the edges. The green filler was floppy and looked like there was no floral "arranging" done...just shoved in a jar. I did not complain but my boyfriend did. The next day I was out at lunch and received a call from a cell phone number. When I answered, a woman named Sadie told me that she needed to know if I was at my location so that she could come and pick up my flowers. I immediately asked her what she was talking about to which she replied "The customer called and complained about the arrangement and I need to come pick them up." I was floored. What kind of customer service is this? You deliver my flowers LATE, crappy looking, and now you're telling me you're taking them back because you received a complaint? Keep in mind that she was NOT telling me she was bringing me the right arrangement or another one....just that she would be taking back my flowers. Sadie's only response to my complaint about the lateness of delivery is that "my computer was down" - NOT MY PROBLEM! Are you kidding me? Sadie ("the manager") then would not answer any of my questions or respond to my complaints about her call - I was not yelling or cursing at all during this call. She also continued to talk over me - she said "I'm going to terminate this call". So she did and that was it. Not only does Sadie have horrible customer service skills but the shop cannot produce a floral arrangement better than something a 5 year old could make. Do not waste your money here. Never again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FLOWER SHOP! They are by far the WORST place I have ever dealt with it. The casket spray for my Mother's memorial service was awful. We were embarrassed. We specifically asked twice during the order if it was going to look full like the picture. We were assured that it would. What arrived was not only sparse (as much green filler as flowers) but the flowers were not fresh and hung limp; some were even bent at the stem. For the price and more importantly the occasion you would think they would care enough to make it look beautiful. It wasn't and we won't be back. Based on the proximity to Fort Meade, I called up Odenton Flowers to order bouquets for my retirement ceremony. The lady on the phone was super-friendly and super-helpful. She knew exactly what I needed and then gave me a military discount. On pick-up day, the flowers looked great: really good quality. I'm impressed by the customer service and the quality. I came to this place in spite of the less than favorable reviews. I ordered a boutonnière and corsage for my sons prom. I wanted something less traditional than a carnation/rose arrangement but the flowers I loved in the picture I did NOT love in person. I even went to another flower shop to ask if I was a bit crazy for complaining about the sickly looking flowers. I was advised to definitely go back and state my feelings about my purchase! So I did and they were more than happy to fix both the boutonnière and corsage for me! No hassle, no eye rolling, or bad customer service! I'm so thankful!! My boyfriend tried to surprise me with flowers for my birthday. The delivery man called me irritated that he couldn't find my work (I work at a bank on a main street) and had a completely wrong address. I thought this was my boyfriend's fault but the address on the card was correct when it got here, the delivery man was just confused. He wasn't very friendly when he got here and it wasn't a surprise bc of the call. I later found out my boyfriend also paid for an upgraded happy birthday card that I never received. Someone sent me flowers and I wasn't home to receive them, but the driver left me a message to call. I was heading home from physical therapy and in considerable pain, but I told him I was passing by the store and if someone could just bring them outside I could save him the trip to for re-delivery. He said great and let the office know. When I got there they refused to bring the flowers to the door, made me get out of my car, in pain, and get them even though I was saving them the headache of re-delivery. The girl there said she couldn't leave the front desk. The place is in an off the street warehouse-like area with no customers in sight. When I went in, there were other employees there at the front desk with her and she was doing absolutely nothing, so she could have done the right thing and brought them out, but she is a jerk and one of the least customer-oriented employees I've come across in a long time. Her other option for me because she didn't want to walk 20 feet was to wait for delivery until the next day when I wouldn't be home. She would rather make more work for someone else on the staff. Definitely not the way to win or keep customers. This is the height of lazy and poor customer service. Received a bouquet on a Monday afternoon: lots of sweetheart roses, little orchids, pompons, carnations and greenery in a pretty vase. Gave it water on arrival and more daily. Roses started to droop Wednesday and had to be pulled out along with the orchids on Thursday, both obviously not fresh when delivered. Everything else was good for another week. One-sided arrangement did not suit the round vase, either. This was not an inexpensive gift. I called and stated all of the above. The offer was made to send out something else. This Florist only deserves 1 star; however, I have 2 stars because of the fact that I received my refunds and free flowers. I have only ordered from here twice. The second is the last and final time. The first time I ordered was an anniversary gift to the love of my life. I requested a special order of red roses and sun flowers. I specifically wrote this in the special instructions section. When the flowers were delivered, they weren't only late a day but they were also the wrong flowers. The florist claims they didn't see the note. The second time was recently for Valentine's Day. The flowers were not delivered. The delivery driver stated that they tried; however the building has a 24 hr concierge, therefore I know they didn't try. The recipient didn't even get a call. I will never ever allow Odenton florist to handle my flower orders ever again. They make to many excuses on why they did not fulfill both request. Worst business I have ever dealt with. read more
