I went to Dr. Bell because my dentist was out of town and a portion of my filling had come off. He quickly analyze the problem, offered me options and we proceeded to replace the filling. Bell is a mediocre dentist at best. He continuously tries to force all sorts of extra charges on you without your permission. I and when you bring it up, he just says that it's probably not good for you to be his patient anymore. He calls himself an Aggie, but he doesn't live by the Aggie standards. He is just another con artist that uses his medical degree to take money out of your pocket. He is a person trying to make as much money as he can of the problems of other people. Update since my last review: I ended up getting braces through an orthodontist via referral from Dr. Bell then a couple veneers from Dr. Bell. Dr. Bell and his staff's attention to detail and dedication to customer service throughout the entire 18 month or so process are rivaled by none. I recently chipped a veneer while overseas and the staff worked with me to set up an emergency appointment the day after I returned home to Austin to get me a temp installed and get a new veneer cast. I just had the new veneer fit a week or two ago and it both looks and feels outstanding. Might as well have been one of the originals from two and a half years ago. Dr. Bell's office feels like a home away from home to me and whether it's been Amanda and Dr. Bell being patient while they help me zero in my veneers so they fit perfectly or getting to catch up with Lou Ann when I come in for a check in, I can't do justice with words to how much I love this dental practice. Dr. Bell has always treated me well and is one of the most respected doctors in his field. Dr. Drew recently help transition and protect my smile by advising me through teeth whitening, bonding, and a night guard. Dr Drew was consultative throughout and used cutting edge technology. First trip to the dentist since 2009: - Technology is crazy, the panoramic chair thing was a trip - Thank you for having the flat screens set up in front of my face showing species of the Great Reef - I especially enjoyed watching the Giant Clam ejaculate - They messed up my appointment, but quickly fixed it by filling me in and presenting me with a Starbucks giftcard :) - Dr. Bell and his staff are super nice and professional - Building 11 is a little tricking to get to, but worth it! - Was able to watch squirrels and pigeons share bird food outside of patient room window - Thank you for turning on the massage chair, hence making my experience while you jabbed at my gums far more enjoyable! - A trip to this establishment makes me hate going to the dentist less :) read more

Wow! The bar for dental care just got raised people! Without getting into the ins and outs of my dental problem I will just tell you they are exceptional. They took their time getting to know me and really assess the issue at hand. They patiently answered all of questions, showed me x-rays and gave me their reasoning behind everything. While I'm sure not everyone has as many questions as I came at them with, I was super impressed by their professionalism. I met with Dr. Lossing to get a second opinion on dental work my prior dentist told me I needed. After a consultation and a follow-up exam, she let me know that not everything recommended to me was necessary. She also informed me that there might be some bigger issues causing my tooth/gum problems, and gave me information on possible treatments. I decided to get some really urgent issues taken care of same-day (a crown and filling), and I can easily say it was the best dental experience I've had in over 15 years. I'll go to Dr. Lossing from now on! Dr. Lossing put me at ease even before we got started. When I mentioned I was a little cold, she got me a blanket. Her assistant offered me music, and between the tunes, the blanket, and the laughing gas (which comes at additional cost), I actually fell asleep during the procedure! I was THAT relaxed. By the time I woke up, they were just about done. Knowing my mouth my might a bit sore, Dr. Lossing sent me home with some extra-strength ibuprofen, which really helped in my recovery. And I don't want to forget the staff!! They were both helpful and friendly. Awesome service, all the way around!!! read more

Your friends say they have the best dental team. Your friends don't know. With a disdain for metal in my mouth, I avoided any dentist like the plague (plaque?) for a precious eight years of my life. While I enjoyed those eight years immensely, I cannot recommend you do the same. Month 89; my transgressions became apparent as the pain intensified. Upon referral of a co-worker, I contacted the dental team at Michael C. Bell, DDS. Lou Ann was the poor soul who first glanced upon my neglected choppers. Surely she carries the weight of that experience every time the sun breaks a new day. Lou Ann thoroughly examined, and then cleaned that heinous orifice like the professional that she is. I take an odd amount of pride in knowing that I have the most sensitive teeth outside of Appalachia, yet I took the cleaning with nary a wince. I don't know how they do it. Dr. Bell followed Lou Ann's angel-like hands with an extensive examination of his own. He charted a course for correction, and we embarked on a journey of oral redemption. I've been with Dr. Bell's team for several years now, and I am amazed at the level of care they consistently provide. From the moment you walk in the door, greeted by Theresa or Sarah, to the cleanings of Lou Ann, and on to procedures with Dr. Bell, Amanda and Brittany, I'm convinced there is no better dental care to be found. Dr. Bell and his team have been nothing short of amazing! Dr. Bell was able to see me as a first time patient on extremely short notice (during the pandemic which I know is not easy) to fix a broken retainer, and I was beyond appreciative. My second appointment was for a cleaning with Ashley, and she was wonderful. Even though she is relatively new to the office, it feels like she is a pro who has been there forever! I couldn't have asked for a better dental hygienist, dentist, and overall staff team to go to. It's clear that they take COVID-19 seriously, which is important to me. They have you fill out a COVID-19 form before you come, they come check your temperature before bringing you in, there is plexiglass everywhere, and then when you are in the room, you can remove your mask. Dr. Bell is a highly respected dentist and yet he is also known for his kindness and friendly, approachable personality. He listens intently to any concerns. He does everything he can to reduce nervousness about pain. When I have an appointment with Dr. Bell, I don't worry about the pain and I always enjoy his friendly presence. One of the worst dentists I've ever had. He was actually my dentist for about two years before I needed some real work on my teeth -- I had some bonding done to the front teeth. He sounded like he knew what he was doing and seemed knowledgable about dentistry but when it comes to his quality of work, it is poor at best. First of all, the needle injections were excruciating. Most dentists would first allow the topical time to work before injecting. Not him. Most dentist shake your cheek to distract you from the pain. Not him. I actually teared up and was about to confess my involvement in the JFK assassination to make him stop. I mean it was so sloppy...somehow the anesthesia got into my nasal cavity and went down my thoat. I literally took a big gulp of anesthesia. That was a new experience. As for the aesthetics, it left a lot to be desired. He left a huge V-shaped gap in between my two front teeth. When I returned to have it redone, the result looked worst then the first time -- the line separating the two fron teeth is very noticeably slanted/crooked. And this isn't to mention that the coloring of the bonding is completely different than the surrounding natural teeth. I had four teeth done, and ultimately got a refund on one tooth due to a persistent pain that was not there prior to his work. I went back to him complaining about the pain in the tooth in question a week after the work was done. He told me to come back three weeks later. The pain persisted after the three weeks and so I went and got a second opinion from another dentist. And his conclusion was that it needed to be redone. I went back to Dr Bell and he adamently defended his work and told me to wait another three weeks. Anyway, I finally got a refund from him for that tooth after six weeks of pain. In short, there are better dentists out there. read more

I've been afraid of the dentist ever since I can remember. No matter what state I lived in, the experience was horrible and scary. It was so bad I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years. So when a friend recommended Dr. Bell, I was skeptical to say the least. My review can be summed up briefly: Dr. Bell and his staff are hands down the best dental team in the country. They have changed the way I view the dentist. I had a lengthy initial visit during which Dr. Bell listened closely to my fears and listened *non-judgmentally* as I told him I hadn't been in 10+ years. He didn't make me feel bad like so many other dentists do. Instead, Dr. Bell and his staff worked patiently with me to work out a treatment plan and explained how we'd get me back on track. A few weeks later I had a teeth cleaning. They explained at every step what they were doing and took the mystery out of the visit. Because I followed their initial instructions (irrigation, floss, special toothbrush), my cleaning was painless and dare I say it, a really good experience! After 10 years of no visits to have a positive one that put my teeth back in shape was simply amazing. Dr. Bell uses all of the latest technology, which includes not only the dental gear, but the chair (massages) and entertainment system (DirecTV and satellite radio)! They even give your hands a special paraffin bath while they clean your teeth. I have recommended them to all of my friends, many of whom are also afraid of the dentist. If that describes you, Dr. Bell and his team will change your opinion. These folks are a model for the entire dental profession. read more

I am sorry to report that I have seen a lot of dentists in my life, so I sadly have a large basis for comparison. I found Dr. Bell using "Best Dentists" and "Texas Super Doctors", both of which he has been on numerous times. After seeing him, I can see why. It is a professional and downright pleasant experience, but more than that is how much skill and effort he puts into his work. I presented a complicated case, and he took it to some colleagues for review, to his study group, and even to a conference to discuss it. That is how thorough he is. Moreover, he is conservative, and does the bare minimum to get a good result. I am not worried about over-treatment, which is often a big issue, and is, frankly, why I am seeing him int he first place - mainly to fix what should not have been done in the first place. He and his staff are wonderful, professional, pleasant, and friendly. And all are highly competent. I recommend them without reservation. read more

After a recommendation from a friend and also a need to go to the dentist after some years, I made an appointment with Dr. Lawson. The initial appointment was very thorough and I didn't necessarily feel any urgency with the questions and/or procedures that were done. I saw Dr. Lossing who was very nice throughout the process. I do appreciate the how the staff made my experience welcoming and comfortable. The office was very neat and clean as well.
