Little House Dentistry is everything I was hoping for in a dentists office. I cannot recommend this business/clinic highly enough. I came here after having a pretty terrible experience at Austin Artistic Dental ( 0/5 stars for AAD). I had to get a crown redone and the staff at LHD helped me feel very welcome and really listened to my concerns and we made a good plan of action to move forward with my crown. At AAD the dentist said I needed 3! crowns to replace some old fillings and that did not feel right to me. When I came to LHD they took some X-rays and said that I did not need the crowns but did need to re-do the fillings which I felt sounded correct. I got the crown fixed, 2 fillings (not amalgam fillings thank god too) and a cleaning done here. My dentist was Dr. Horter and she was just so great. She listened to what I thought about my own needs, validated my concerns and made suggestions that felt right. She worked carefully and took her time to get things right and I feel that she really cared to do a thorough and proper job, which I appreciate because I'm the one that has to live with the dental work. Also they never once asked me to leave a review or incentivized me with free items, which showed me that every 5 star review here is genuine. Also I absolutely love the atmosphere of the clinic and all the staff seem genuinely happy to be there. 10/10 highly recommend :) read more

I've been going to the previous dentist in this location for years. When he died suddenly I was devastated. Fortunately Dr. Colleen Nothern is GREAT. As are all the staff. There are not enough adjectives to describe this place. I will begin by saying that SONIA at the front desk is so talented and amazing. Both dentist's were phenomenal, kind, considerate. Both chair side Doctors made me feel very relaxed. The dental assistant working in my room was more than talented. This place is A M A Z I N G! Everyone does their job so perfectly. Everyone is so friendly and yet so professional. So far every time I go, I'm very happy with the care I'm given. Also, the other day I went to get impressions to get my teeth whitened. I somehow assumed it would only take a couple of minutes. I brought my kids (with iPads and lollipops to keep them busy of course). When I arrived I was told it would take 20 mins. Instead of asking me to leave and come another day without the kids, they offered to watch the kids. I found this so kind of them. Overall, big thumbs up! PS. They are on top of things in the office and on the dental side of things are not in the habit of doing unnecessary work to make extra money. I'm not one to frequently leave yelp reviews, but I just went to Little House Dentistry for the first time today after getting the heebie-jeebies from my previous dentist, and holy smokes, what a 180 this experience was. The only "cons" I can offer is that I'm sad to wait 6 months to come back, and that it's a bummer that your mouth is occupied at the dentist, because these ladies are so awesome I wanted to chat with them all day! Truly the most peaceful and aesthetically pleasing dentist office I've ever been in. I was in a sunny yellow room with gauzy drapes and beautiful old windows. I'm not someone who dreads the dentist, but if you are, I really feel like the homey atmosphere here could change that for you. (BONUS, a sweet dog named Amos walked into the room to lay next to my chair in the sunniest spot). The staff here is AMAZING. So warm and friendly and easy to talk to. I could go on and on. Seriously, I know it's weird to rave about a dentist this much, but I don't think there are any other dentists like this one, and I never knew going to a dentist could be this enjoyable (or that dentists could be THIS cool). Little House is very committed to making sure you have the most stress-free and thorough dental care experience. I feel very lucky to have them right around the corner from home. I had been looking for a new dentist since moving on to a different insurance plan. Not even 5 minutes from where I live (South 1st area), I had never noticed this tucked-away little house on South Lamar. It's a very minimal office in terms of space, but what it lacks in setting size it makes up for in a homey feeling inside. Getting an appointment for a dental cleaning/exam was easy, and it didn't take that long for them to get your information acquainted with their office. Their receptionist is so friendly and inviting! I had Sheryl as my hygienist, and she was very professional and courteous in evaluating my dental health. The same can be said for Dr Colleen! She easily lays out and explains any and all concerns about your exam results. You can relax easy knowing you're in good hands here. My exam didn't take that long, and my teeth looked so much better after that cleaning! I actually somewhat look forward to getting my filling restored/among other things fixed in a few weeks. read more

My old dentist retired, and I've been looking for a place that would take both myself and my son, (not those dental spas!) Little house dentistry is perfect. I was especially impressed with the care my son received. The dental hygienist talked in a cartoon voice the whole time and he just loved her and it made the whole visit so easy. (It could have gone the other way.) I like the small, family dentist vibe here. Dr Nothern is very good at explaining options and providing a dentistry plan that works for you. My family had been patients of Dr. Jack Roberts for a very long time. Dr. Roberts was actually the only dentist I had ever been to and I was nervous very about trying someone new. I felt very comfortable when I first stepped into the office. Everything is decorated so cute and comfortable. Cheryl Ray from Dr. Roberts office did my cleaning that day, which also made me feel very comfortable. I scheduled a visit a couple weeks later for fillings. This appointment with Dr. Northern was great! Her assistant (which I cannot remember her name!!) was super sweet and made me feel so totally comfortable the whole time. They will let you choose music to play on Alexa which makes the atmosphere even more fun and comfortable. Both ladies were quick and efficient, and I can tell they really enjoyed what they do. An extra plus, Dr. Northern's sweet pup, Amos, hangs out in the office. They even called me the next day to make sure I was feeling okay and that all the work felt comfortable. It sounds crazy, but I can't wait to go back! I'm so happy I have found my new dentist. TL;DR: cute place, good people, great work and an adorable dog! What else could you ask for? read more

I am reasonably terrified of the dentist, but this is the least scary place I've ever been for dental work. The entire staff (including front desk) bend over backwards to accommodate you. I like that they kept me informed of everything along the way - including what my insurance would cover and everything they were doing with dental work, step-by-step. If you are looking for an amazing dentist that can make having any dental treatment pleasant Dr.Nothern is it. I personally have worked with her for over 10 years and she is the only dentist I trust fully to treat my family as well as myself. She informs her patients what they need or what she recommends and why. She always takes time to explain things and will even drawl pictures to help her patients understand. I've never worked with another dentist that actually cares about her patients and takes the time to make sure they are comfortable. She is very particular in everything she does and her dentistry reflects her meticulous personality. And her Cosmetic Dentistry is absolutely beautiful. I've been going to another dentist since moving to Austin, TX. I had to visit with Dr. Nothern's office in a pinch due to my insurance expiring. I was thoroughly impressed with the care I received. The hygienist, Cheryl was very experienced and she paid attention to every single nook and cranny in my mouth. I learned some things I never knew about my teeth. I felt like the visit was well worth my time and I was not just "another mouth to assess." I was a human with real problems in my mouth and they cared for me in a way I would want to be treated in every medical setting. The care in their office is not a learned skill. I have been going through Invisalign for the past year and a half. I was taking multiple quotes for some bonding services and was met with salesman style up-selling just about everywhere. There are a lot of dentists in Austin that do good work, but sometimes a personal, friendly environment is what gets you in the door and the great work brings you back. The staff here have a good history of procedures and can answer most questions and work very well with the Dr. I went back to get the bonding done and I am very happy with the results. Have to say, after seeing the 'positive' reviews I'll admit I'm confused. Coming from the prospective of a former dental hygienist my experience was beyond horrible at this practice. So for the sake of the Austin community I hope the dentist cleaned up her act. My daughter and I took her earliest appointment. My daughter who is 16 went in first and saw the hygienist ( previously worked with the former dentist) all went well until Dr. Northern came. My daughter has a very server allergy to latex ( noted in her chart). When coming into the space my daughters chart was not open and she automatically went straight into shoving her hands into her mouth. Automatically my daughter began to protest after seeing and tasting the fact she was wearing latex gloves. Upon realizing the mistake she went whoops! and put on non latex gloves. The previous practice never carried latex gloves for that given reason. Having an obvious allergic reaction my daughter stepped into the restroom to use her epi pen. After a period of relax she got back in the chair and the dentist continued. Continuing on Dr.Northern proceed to list off a aspects of my daughters chart that should have been looked over before coming in.There was a hour gap between, so naturally we sat in the waiting room. The hygienist brought me back and got me done, then we began to wait. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20, 30 minutes later I was beginning to become frustrated. Upon walking up to the front Dr Northern walked through the front door with coffee from the shop down the road. Upon asking about the delay she went " Oh yeah. Uh lets get you started." over 30 past my scheduled time. Austin is a fast past city and she obviously failed to realize other people have jobs! Now I understand if she was with another patient, but no she wasn't. The lack of communication was disgraceful and this practice is lucky I did not file suit. Stay Away! read more
